But while his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales undergoes preventative chemotherapy, William has been spending time with her and their three children.

The Wales family recently spent a month in Norfolk while George, Charlotte and Louis were on their Easter break for school, and it has been announced that Prince William will soon be returning to public duties following their break.

The Prince of Wales will be visiting Surrey and West London on 18 April to recognise and highlight organisations and the community who are having a positive environmental impact in the area.

Prince William will be in Sunbury-on-Thames seeing how a food distribution charity named Surplus to Supper delivers, sorts and repackages unused food to community groups.

Following this, he will also visit a youth centre in West London which receives regular deliveries of the surplus food and distributes it to those in need.

William is extremely passionate about environmental causes and building a waste-free world. He is the patron of The Earthshot Prize, a global environmental award that is awarded to individuals for their contributions towards environmentalism, of which tackling wastage and food surplus is a key pillar.

When Catherine first announced her cancer diagnosis, sources told PEOPLE that William would return to official duties following the children’s return to school in a “balanced, measured way”, and would depend on the needs of the Princess of Wales.

It’s reported that family members from both sides have been helping Kate and William to cope with the situation.

While classes were on, Catherine’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton have been assisting the Wales’ with school drop-offs.

“Her parents are an enduring factor in the upbringing of their grandchildren,” a palace insider previously told PEOPLE.

Whilst the Prince of Wales tried to maintain a low profile during his one-month break from public duties, William was accompanied by his eldest son Prince George at an Aston Villa football match on 11 April.

The father-son duo appeared in good spirits at the match, with the pair seen smiling, clapping and reacting to moments throughout the game.

Not only did his career and professional life kick off, but the win also forged a path for the now-MasterChef judge to meet his future wife.

Alex Davey didn’t watch the show and had no idea who Andy was when they first met. 

“When we met, she had no idea who I was,” Andy told TV WEEK in an exclusive interview. “We were both at a party just after I won and a few people were talking about it. She kept saying, ‘You won MasterChef?’ She thought it was a joke.”

While they didn’t start dating immediately after meeting, the former electrician from Newcastle said he never forgot about Alex. When their paths crossed again years later, the pair entered a relationship together.

Four years later, the couple realised they were ready to spend forever together and Andy popped the question in New Zealand.

Andy spilled details about his proposal to Alex with TV WEEK, sharing that the experience didn’t quite go to plan.

“I drove down to what I was told was a nice secluded beach,” Andy explains. 

“But when we got there, there were more than 300 people on the beach, and the only free spot I could find was next to a couple of 16-year-olds violently pashing. It was the least romantic spot ever!”

Andy spotted a nearby headland and asked Alex to take a walk with him. Once they were finally alone, he got down on one knee.

“She was so shocked, she basically collapsed on my shoulder,” Andy recalls. “I pretty much had to ask her if it was a ‘yes’. She was very shocked.”

The couple officially tied the knot in October 2022 in a gorgeous ceremony at Terrara House in southern New South Wales.

After they said ‘I do’, Andy and Alex enjoyed a honeymoon in New Zealand, and have since continued to travel the world together. 

And while they’ve seemingly enjoyed countless good times together, their relationship hasn’t been without its challenges.

Due to the nature of Andy’s job as a judge on MasterChef Australia, the couple have endured multiple stints of long-distance during their relationship.

“Alex is in Sydney and I’m in Melbourne for filming, so we had to talk about how we would make long distance work,” Andy told TV WEEK in 2020. 

“But we were both so excited about the opportunity that we knew we could get through anything together.”

Former MasterChef judge Matt Preston was the one to give Andy advice about juggling work and prioritising his relationship.

“We met up earlier in the year and he said I have to make time for my relationship,” Andy says.

“He said it can be hard with filming, and to make sure I set aside days to have a long weekend with Alex and time away from the set.”

Now, the pair are living together under one roof, having moved to a home in Carlton in Melbourne.

“I always knew Alex and I were going to be together forever and it’s so nice for us to be finally living in the same location, and to actually have a home we can come to that’s just ours,” Andy said to The Australian Women’s Weekly. 

“Neither of us thought anything would change after we married, but there’s definitely a deeper sense of being a family and building a life together,” Alex added.

The Duke of Sussex previously told the court the reason he is fighting for personal security is because he wants his children, Archie and Lilibet to feel safe when visiting his home country.

When Prince Harry was still a senior working member of the British royal family, he received full publicly-funded security protection provided by the government.

However, since voluntarily giving up his royal roles with wife Meghan Markle in 2020, the court declared he would receive a lesser degree of public-funded security when in the UK.

Additionally, once he moved to the United States Harry lost the right to automatic police protection. After the decision to downgrade his security, the Duke of Sussex challenged the government.

In late February 2024, the High Court rejected Prince Harry’s case, but the Duke of Sussex’s lawyers said he would appeal the ruling. It has now been confirmed that Harry’s initial bid has been rejected.

At a hearing in December 2023, the Duke of Sussex’s lawyers labelled the decision to take away his high-level security as “unlawful” and “unfair”.

Prince Harry’s lawyers also read out an excerpt from a witness statement where Harry explained why he was fighting for high-level security.

“The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the US. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil,” the statement read.

“I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too.”

However, the government’s legal team said the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) have not decided Harry should not receive protection, but rather that he should not have it on the same basis.

A legal spokesperson for Prince Harry originally confirmed the Duke would be appealing the court’s decision, saying: “The duke is not asking for preferential treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of RAVEC’s own rules, ensuring that he receives the same consideration as others in accordance with RAVEC’s own written policy.”

Prince Harry was last in England in February 2024, when he visited his father King Charles III following his cancer diagnosis. The Duke only stayed in the UK for 24 hours.

It’s reported that Harry will next visit the UK in May 2024 for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, where sources claim Harry’s wife Meghan and their two children may also be making the trip to England.

Following the incident in Bondi over the weekend, members of the British royal family have released messages of support.

“My wife and I were utterly shocked and horrified to hear of the tragic stabbing incident in Bondi,” a message from King Charles III wrote.

“Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who have been so brutally killed during such a senseless attack.

“While details of these shocking circumstances are still emerging, our thoughts are also with those who were involved in the response, and we give thanks for the bravery of the first responders and emergency services,” His Majesty shared via a statement on the royal family’s Instagram page.

The Prince and Princess of Wales also issued a statement of their own following the ordeal, taking to their social media pages to express their ‘shock’ and ‘sadness’.

“We are shocked and saddened by the terrible events in Sydney earlier today,” the message said on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s X account on Saturday evening.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected, including the loved ones of those lost and the heroic emergency responders who risked their own lives to save others.”

William and Kate signed off the message with “W & C”.

Queen Mary of Denmark has also expressed her condolences after the incident in Bondi, writing a letter to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Albanese appeared on the Kyle & Jackie-O Show on Monday, explaining that the Australian-born Danish Queen wrote a “lovely letter” where she expressed her “condolences, solidarity, concern and support” with Australia.

The six victims of the tragic attack include 47-year-old Jade Young, 25-year-old Dawn Singleton, 38-year-old Ashlee Good, 55-year-old Pikria Darchia, 30-year-old Faraz Tahir, and 27-year-old Yixuan Cheng.

Twelve other people, including a nine-month-old baby, are also being treated for their injuries in hospital.

Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle’s, 42, company Archewell Productions have two nonfiction television shows in the “early stages” of production.

One of the series is created by Meghan Markle and will “celebrate the joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship.” Meghan has a well-known love of food, which has been documented thanks to her former blog The Tig. 

The Duchess of Sussex also has a new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which focuses on food and food-related products including preserved spreads, kitchenware and cookbooks, meaning the project is one she is passionate about. Meghan will also serve as an executive producer on the show.

Meanwhile, the other series the Sussexes have in the works in one Prince Harry is particularly interested in.

The series aims to “provide viewers unprecedented access to the world of professional polo,” a sport that Harry has played for decades.

The Duke often participates in charity polo matches, including a fundraiser for a charity he co-founded in 2006, Sentebale, aimed at helping children and young people affected by poverty, inequality and HIV/AIDS in Africa.

According to a statement, “known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level.”

Both Harry and Meghan are serving as producers on the series which will be filmed primarily at the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Florida, taking place in April 2024.

Titles and release dates have not yet been confirmed for either show, but it is expected that the news will be revealed in the coming months.

The Chief Content Officer of Netflix spoke at the Next on Netflix event in February and confirmed that Meghan and Harry had several projects in development.

“They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon [Reigg],” they said, according to HELLO! magazine. 

“And they actually have like a bunch of development. They have a movie in development, a [scripted] series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows. But yeah, the movie’s great.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a multiyear deal with Netflix following their departure from the United Kingdom and their royal roles in 2020, and thus far they have released their intimate docuseries, Harry & Meghan, the Live to Lead series and the Heart of Invictus docuseries on the streaming platform.

It was also confirmed in August 2023 that their production company Archewell Productions would be adapting Meet Me at the Lake, a romance novel by Carley Fortune, into a film.

Peter Daicos is married to his wife Colleen, and it’s believed the couple have been together since the early 1990s. However, there is limited information about the exact timeline and specific dates in regards to their relationship.

Colleen spoke to our sister site New Idea about Peter being on I’m A Celebrity, saying “It’s been so strange not to be able to speak to him.”

“I think the longest Peter and I have been apart before this is six days,” she added.

Peter and Colleen have welcomed three children together, one daughter and two sons.

Josh Daicos, 25, and Nick Daicos, 21, have followed in their father’s footsteps and both play for Collingwood in the AFL.

Josh was selected for the team in the 2016 draft, while Nick was selected in the 2021 draft. The former has appeared in over 100 games for the club, while the latter recently notched up 50 games himself.

The Daicos brothers have continued the family Collingwood legacy, taking home the 2023 AFL Premiership.

Peter spoke to SEN about how he fostered his sons’ AFL skills, saying: “One of the things that I continually did was I was involved in my kids’ sport, which I think is – whether as a coach or just turning up – is really important.”

“I’m stating the obvious, but I think taking them to the football … I even used to take both boys into the commentary box when I was involved in commentary and media, I’d always have them there and we’d go to games, and they didn’t necessarily have to be Collingwood games. I’d take them to a game, and they’d get all excited. We’d go home and kick a ball for an hour or so in the yard or in the living room.”

Peter Daicos and wife Colleen also share one daughter named Madison who is the couple’s eldest child.

The 32-year-old was old enough to attend some of her father’s AFL games before he retired in 1994, and Peter has reflected on one of his most cherished memories with his daughter, which was when Maddie was present at his final game for Collingwood.

“I got the opportunity to run a lap with my daughter at the MCG. I asked if I could do it and the AFL said no. I said to my wife, ‘Bugger it, just hand her over to me,’ and as I got halfway around, she handed Maddie over. And there’s a shot of me running around with Maddie and she looks like Superman with 35 on the back,” Peter said on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Speaking to New Idea, Maddie said “We’ve all really missed him while he’s been away, but watching him on TV makes us feel really connected to him.”

The Regiment paid tribute to the Duke of Kent, referring to him as “a constant in a rapidly changing world”.

Meanwhile, the Duke of Kent reflected on his time as Colonel, saying: “Serving as Colonel of the Scots Guards since 1974, the longest anyone has spent in this role, has been a true honour and one which will forever fill me with great joy. 

“Through those years, I have seen the work of the Scots Guards during peacetime and war and witnessed their bravery, selfless courage and devotion to duty.” 

The Duke of Kent will be handing over the position to the Duke of Edinburgh, where Prince Edward will continue the work of the Colonelcy of the Regiment.

The Duke of Kent attended the Scots Guard annual day of commemoration and remembrance in London on Sunday, which marked his last day as Colonel.

At the event, His Royal Highness said: “To my fellow Scots Guardsmen, I am immensely proud to have served you all. 

“I am delighted that His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will continue to champion all that you do and work towards preserving your great legacy.” 

In his new position, Prince Edward will continue supporting the work of the Scots Guards and will visit the Regiment regularly.

As the new Colonel of the Scots Guards, the Duke of Edinburgh said: “The Duke of Kent has been an extraordinary Colonel of the Scots Guards. Quite apart from his depth of knowledge and keen understanding of the Regiment and all those who serve, past and present, he has been a tireless and passionate advocate.

“It is a distinct honour to be asked and entrusted by His Majesty to serve as the next Colonel. However, I accept with a degree of trepidation as I will undoubtedly be measured against the formidable record and reputation of my predecessor. I can only promise to do my best.”

Formed in 1642, The Scots Guards have played key roles in major conflicts from the Glorious Revolution of 1688, the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, the First and Second World Wars, the Falklands War and undertaken deployments to Northern Ireland, Afghanistan and Iran in more recent years.

The Regimental Lieutenant Colonel of the Scots Guard, Colonel JDL Leask, spoke about the passing over of the position into the hands of Prince Edward, saying, “The Regiment is delighted that His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will shortly become the twenty-seventh Colonel Scots Guards.

“This is a seminal moment for us. It marks the end of a remarkable era and the start of a new and exciting chapter in our long and distinguished history.”

And according to a TV insider, so were the show’s producers!

“They were on tenterhooks with those two big personalities [Denise and host Julia Morris]. There is a lot of pressure on the current new-look season to not court any negative headlines like series gone by, so they made sure Julia and Denise saved face – at least for the cameras,” says the source.

While the pair only briefly worked together during the mid-’90s on a Nine reboot of variety show In Melbourne Tonight, rumour has it there was no love lost when the pair went their separate ways.

Of course, Denise tells it how she sees it – and that’s why so many people love her!

But the source reveals her honesty grated on Julia, 55.

“It was a personality clash from day one and the crew would feel really uncomfortable each week as they tried to out-do each other,” says the insider.

“Denise reportedly felt she could be a ‘big sister’ figure to Julia, who was just starting out in her entertainment career. However, Julia was determined to run her own race.”

The source alleges that their similar “big, over-the-top” comedic style made for a clash on air.

Denise has been quick to deny reports that she and Julia have been locked in a secret feud for decades, calling the rumours “total bull cr*p”.

“I really don’t know where it came from… Let’s just dwell on the positives… I admire her because she went overseas and did all these courses and I think she went and did improv and all those things.

She was really serious about her career and I admired that, it’s something I never did,” she added of her former co-star.

Either way, there will be no further scramble for TV producers, as it seems Denise’s short-lived stint on reality TV is now over for good!

“I don’t want to do Survivor, I don’t want to be like Bear Grylls, I don’t want to be dropped in the middle of the ocean and have to swim to the shore. I don’t want to do anything now,” says the star. “I’ve got a lovely life, beautiful kids, grandchildren and a dog and a cat that loves me.”

“We were just really excited, and so we told ourselves if anything went pear-shaped, we’d just keep our sense of humour about it all,” says Jess, 30, of the couple’s big day at Mimosa Wines near Bermagui on the NSW South Coast.

BEAUTIFUL BUT CHAOTIC

“I wore a six-metre-long veil,” the bubbly bride tells Woman’s Day. “It wasn’t coping when a breeze picked up during my vows and was basically wrapping around Andrew and my bridesmaids. One of
them, Emma, grabbed it and tried to pull it back. We got married on a pier over a small lake, so she almost fell in, then I almost fell back into the water as well, so, in the end, I just stepped to the side
and took my veil off.

“One of our family members described the ceremony as “emotional, beautiful and chaotic,” Jess adds with a laugh.

“It was very us – it was perfect! We’re still on cloud nine!”

The brief for the day was a formal country garden party, and in a sweet touch, the bridesmaids’ dresses were Jess’ something blue! The reality star wore a gown from Jane Hill Bridal in Melbourne, with an A-line skirt and delicate beading, a low-back and thigh-high slit, and long sheer sleeves with pearl closures at the wrist and down the back.

“It was the dress of my dreams,” says Jess, whose favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle, which was studded with long-stemmed white roses, with her father Geoff.

“My dad is one of my favourite people in the world – he’s just an absolute legend – so that was really beautiful,” she says.

“And obviously seeing Andrew at the end of the aisle!”

Her groom’s highlight was saying his vows in front of their 145 guests.

“It was when I got the most emotional,” he reveals. “Neither of us had heard them. I got a little bit teary.”

“We were incredibly lucky with the weather too,” Andrew, 34, adds.

“The two days before, it just rained so much. It was a beautiful day on our wedding and then the day after, it rained again. We didn’t really have an option for wet weather, so we were a bit nervous!”

The couple opted to skip a traditional wedding cake – serving a three-course menu and canapes instead.

“We wanted to have a really bougie canape hour, so we had really beautiful nibbles – like Peking duck and lamb koftas – and had our favourite drinks, which were spicy margaritas and limoncello spritz,” shares Jess. “Everyone got stuck in!”

When the couple chatted with Woman’s Day last year to celebrate their engagement, they shared that they would start trying for a family on their honeymoon. So, is that still the plan?

“We’ve been practising,” laughs Jess.

“We’re not trying for a baby just yet. We’re really enjoying the time of ‘just us’ and I do think babies won’t be too far off, but we’re not quite there just yet. We’ll wait another couple of months and then see where we are.”

They already have a list of baby names, and a lot of their friends have just started families. “It’s all happening,” laughs Andrew.

The couple, who share a home in Delegate, NSW, plan to watch this season of Farmer Wants A Wife, especially as one of Andrew’s groomsmen, Joey Bobbin, is looking for love on the show.

“We’ll be rooting for Joey,” says Jess.

“He’s a bit of a character,” says Andrew.

“It will be interesting to see how it all plays out for him.”

“He saw that it can work from watching Jess and I,” adds Andrew, who thinks the show’s high success rate at matching couples is because “it gives people in rural areas a chance to meet people they wouldn’t have. There’s no way Jess and I would have ever crossed paths had we not gone on the show.

“I know Jess took a lot of convincing to do the show and a friend of mine signed me up as a joke… it’s not really the way any of us ever imagined we’d be meeting each other, but it worked out in the end.”

The courageous Sunshine Coast local has bravely opened up about her diagnosis in a series of candid TikToks, revealing her shock diagnosis, and the aggressive life-saving treatments she is undergoing.

Holding back tears, the 46-year-old makeup artist, who regularly travels the world working for top fashion houses like Versace and Dior, was visibly shaken as she shared the news with her followers.

“Some Stoj news. Thank you to all my doctors, partner, family and friends for all the support,” she posted, before detailing exactly what she’s been through these past few months.

FAMILY TRAGEDY

“In January I found out that I had breast cancer, so that was a bit horrible,” she shared.

“I’ve just been dealing with that and having the lump removed. Everything’s okay… [the] cancer has been removed.

“But there’s just a lot of information that I had to take in, and I’m going to be doing chemotherapy and radiation, and I thought that I’d do this before all my hair falls out, which is already starting to happen.”

As tributes continue to flow in for the popular fashion industry icon, it’s been her own tragic backstory that has touched hearts across the world.

“My mother passed away from breast cancer 22 years ago, so I was petrified of the same outcome,” she explained.

“But breast cancer treatment has advanced so much in this time – I didn’t realise how much I didn’t know.”

Diagnosed with a form of breast cancer known as invasive lobular carcinoma, she has reportedly undergone a lumpectomy – telling her many supporters who may face the same procedure that “it’s very scary, but you will be fine”.

Determined to raise more awareness around breast cancer, especially among women as young as 25, Stoj is now calling for screening to be available to everyone, regardless of age.

Despite putting on a brave face, she couldn’t hide just how devastated she was when her hair began to fall out due to the chemo, even sharing her first haircut.

I was concerned that the ceremony at the Marylebone Register Office was going to turn into a mob scene, with wailing young girls and a horde of paparazzi, but Paul and Linda were unperturbed about fans finding out.

On March 12, 1969, the day of the wedding, the streets in front of the register were indeed mobbed with fans and had to be shut down by the police. We had to enter through a side door where the garbage bins were kept. Paul’s brother Michael, who was the best man, was half an hour late because the police had closed off all the surrounding streets.

One week and one day after Paul married Linda, I received a phone call from John Lennon. He and Yoko Ono were at the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris and wanted to get married, immediately. SECRET MISSION

When John called and asked me to arrange his wedding to Yoko, they were insistent that I tell not a soul, no one, not even the other Beatles. I arranged their wedding with the stealth of an M15 agent. It was quite a task to pull off for one of the most famous couples in the world.

They insisted they wanted to be married in Great Britain, but once they posted banns, it would be in the press. The solution was to find a place in Great Britain where John and Yoko could walk in
the door and get married with no residency requirements.

Charles Levinson, the London lawyer who handled John’s divorce from Cynthia, advised me that John and Yoko could tie the knot posthaste in Gibraltar, off the coast of Spain, yet part of the British Isles.

I flew to Gibraltar the following morning, just before John and Yoko arrived in a private jet. Both were dressed in white, like two virgins. They were signalling a fresh start. The couple were married in a brief ceremony by Justice Cecil Joseph Wheeler, to whom I paid four pounds, 14 shillings.

Yoko wore dark sunglasses with a big hat, and John smoked cigarettes during the brief ceremony. They were casual and seemingly unemotional, as if it were an obligation more than a celebration.

According to sources, Harry is furious that William has become so close to their step mum Queen Camilla in the wake of Kate and King Charles’ respective illnesses.

With both their spouses stepping back from royal duties, William, 41, and Camilla, 76, have become unlikely allies, but Harry isn’t too pleased about it.

In fact, the Duke of Sussex, 39, sees their new friendship as a “betrayal” of their mum Princess Diana. “He really distrusts that William actually gets on rather well now with Camilla,” royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror.

“Harry will see this as a betrayal. He was shocked when William realised that Camilla, far from being the monster they thought she was when they were children, is actually a rather nice woman.”

Camilla and Charles famously began an affair while Charles was still married to Diana, who felt tormented by their relationship. The couple later went on to marry in 2005.

And while Tom admits that William has come to appreciate Camilla’s “sympathetic ear” over the past few months, Harry has “never moved on” since his mother died.

“For Harry, Camilla was the wicked stepmother back then, and she still is,” he added.

Harry revealed his true feelings about Camilla when he alleged that she leaked stories to the press about him in his memoir Spare.

He later called her “dangerous” because of her connections with the media.

Mary hasn’t been seen at a public event with King Frederik, 55, since March, when the couple attended an exhibit at the Amalienborg Museum in Copenhagen, but speculation about their marriage has now hit fever pitch after Mary’s three-in-a-row solo appearances.

Last November, allegations of an affair hit the couple when then-Prince Frederik was photographed walking with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova in Madrid on an unofficial trip. The incident made international news, prompting denials from both parties and threats of legal action from 47-year-old Genoveva.

In what was widely considered to be an attempt to get her errant heir back on track, the sitting Queen Margrethe announced her abdication not long after, shocking Denmark. A month later, Frederick and Mary took the throne.

Now, in news that will come as little surprise, Woman’s Day can reveal things don’t appear to have gotten better for the embattled queen since.

According to Spanish publication Hola!, Frederik allegedly took another trip to Spain in February – just days before Genoveva relaunched herself on social media – but the king was not seen visiting the socialite. To add fuel to the fire, in March it was reported that Fred and Genoveva wear matching Shamballa bracelets, which sent speculation into overdrive yet again.

PALACE UNDER FIRE

“The palace has been on the back foot with this problem, and it’s not going to go away,” adds the regal insider.

“The fact they had to come out and make a statement that his bracelet was in fact a gift from the kids just shows how much this is getting out of control. But [Fred’s] only got himself to blame for all the rumours – going back to Madrid, of all places, a mere two months after he was spotted looking cosy with another woman is insanity.”

With all eyes on the royal couple, even the family’s ski trip over Easter was fraught with controversy after the castle’s flag was left raised. This signals that at least one member of the family was still in residence.

Unconfirmed reports suggest it was youngest daughter, Princess Josephine, 13, who stayed home. However, photos from the Swiss holiday did little to quell rumours of unhappiness, with Fred and Mary seemingly unable to look each other in the eye during one ski outing.

A palace insider confirms, “Mary and Frederik haven’t looked at ease with each other since that terrible scene in November, but he’s done very little to fix it.

“Hanging her out to dry at every event in Copenhagen is deeply worrying. The big fear for an outsider like Mary is whether or not this is acceptable behaviour. She must be feeling somewhat trapped right now.”

“It’s been a mind-blowing few months of highs and lows, and no one could have prepared for it,” adds a longtime friend of Mary’s. “Mary genuinely worships Frederik, so it was a love match all the
way for her. She’s also not the type to walk away from her duties as queen to the people of Denmark. She just won’t do it.

“She is likely feeling completely stuck – she’s the queen now. It’s not like she can just get up and leave.

“Mary takes her role as Denmark’s queen very seriously, but behind those brave smiles, she will be worried this total nightmare may not ever end.”

Channel Seven’s Melbourne-based correspondent for Sunrise, Nathan Templeton has sadly passed away.

It has been reported the father-of-two sadly suffered a medical episode while walking his dog near Barwon River in Geelong.

Nathan made a reputable name for himself as a reporter at the Olympic Games and was popular on Seven’s Sunrise. The 44-year-old recently stepped away from the spotlight to deal with personal issues.

Michael Culver

British actor Michael Culver has sadly passed away, aged 85.

Michael was best known for his role in Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back and the James Bond films Thunderball and From Russia With Love.

The news of his passing was shared by his agency, Alliance Agents in a Facebook post.

“We are very sad to confirm the passing of our friend and client Michael Culver,” the statement read. “It’s been an honour to have represented Michael for the last decade and to have taken him to some of the best Star Wars events in the UK and Europe.”

“A real highlight was taking Michael to Celebration in Chicago in 2019. He was lost for words when he saw his queue line with nearly 200 people waiting to see him.”

The cause of his tragic passing has not been revealed.

Kenneth Mitchell

Actor Kenneth Mitchell has passed away aged 49.

Most well-known for his roles in Star Trek: Discovery and Captain Marvel, Kenneth passed away on 24 February 2024.

Kenneth was diagnosed with ALS in 2018 and suffered a five-year long health battle.

“With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend,” his family wrote in a statement shared via X (Twitter) and Instagram.

“Ken was widely known as an actor in many films and television shows,” the statement continued. “He’s portrayed an Olympic hopeful, an apocalypse survivor, an astronaut, a superhero’s dad, and four unique Star Trekkers.”

Ewen MacIntosh

Actor and comedian, Ewan passed away aged 50.

He was best known for his role as Keith Bishop, aka ‘Big Keith’ in The Office UK and starred in other British comedies including Little Britain.

A statement from his management company, Just Right Management confirmed his passing with Chelle Just revealing he had suffered with health issues for the past two years.

“Ewen was a wonderful actor and an even better human being. He made people laugh and possessed such a kind heart. He touched the lives of all who came into contact with him,” she said.

“Ewen suffered from ill-health these past two years and passed peacefully on 19 February from undisclosed causes.”

Gary Graham

Actor Gary Graham sadly passed away on 22 January 2024.

“It is with deep profound sadness to say that Gary Graham, my ex-husband, amazing actor and father of our beautiful only child together, Haylee Graham, has passed away today,” Gary’s ex-wife Susan Lavelle said in her announcement on Facebook.

“We are completely devastated especially our daughter Haley. His wife, Becky was by his side.”

Gary was most well-known for his role in Star Trek: Enterprise.

David Gail

US actor David Gail sadly passed away, aged 58.

His sister Katie Colmenares and podcaster Peter Ferriero confirmed the news, with his sister sharing a heartfelt post to Instagram.

“There’s barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me, by my side, always my wingman, always my best friend, ready to face anything and anyone with me….Missing you every second of every day forever, there will never be another ” she wrote.

Lynne Marta

Actress Lynne Marta sadly passed away from cancer, aged 78, on January 11, 2024, in her Los Angeles home.

The news of her passing was confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by Lynne’s friend, Chris Saint-Hillaire. Lynne was best known for her role in the musical classic, Footloose, played Charlene Higgins on Days of Our Lives and Charlie’s Angels in the late 70s.

“We lost a beautiful light today. My friend, Lynne Marta lost her good fight. A wonderfully talented actress and a beautiful singer whose voice was of the angels. A dear heart who adored her friends both human and furry. I will miss her terribly,” Lynne’s friend Joan Sobel wrote on Facebook.

In a tragic plane crash, at 51, Christian Oliver and his two daughters died on January 4th.

The “Speed Racer” star, and his daughters, were pronounced dead on the scene after their plane reported a problem and crashed into the ocean.

Glynis Johns

Hollywood royalty, Glynis Johns passed away on January 4th in an assisted living home.

She is known for her role as Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins but more notably she also earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her role as Mrs. Firth in The Sundowners.

Her manager released a statement following her death, “Today is a sombre day for Hollywood. Not only do we mourn the passing of our dear Glynis, but we mourn the end of the golden age of Hollywood.”

Harry Johnson

Following a long illness, Harry Johnson passed away in Los Angeles on January 2nd. His wife Christiane Johnson confirmed the news to Deadline.

He was known for his iconic role in Battlestar Galactica in 1978. He also appeared in MASH, Quincy M.E., Law & Order, The Incredible Hulk, Days of Our Lives and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.*

A friend of the couple told HELLO!: “Peter and Lindsay made the difficult decision to separate as they were spending less time together with work and family commitments.

“Peter’s business commitments and work in F1 meant he has been away and travelling non stop.

“It obviously came as a shock as most people thought they were absolutely rock solid, it’s very sad. Peter has been travelling all over the world and has been incredibly busy and Lindsay is based up in Scotland, so it’s been hard for them to see each other.”

The Sun reported that they remain amicable, with a source saying, “They were friends before their relationship blossomed. But Peter and Lindsay have gone their separate ways as the relationship simply ran its course.”

Meanwhile, Peter’s official spokesperson declined to comment, saying it was a “private matter”.

Princess Anne’s son and Lindsay first got together in 2020 following Peter’s separation from his wife Autumn Kelly, and the couple made their official debut at the Epsom Derby in June 2022.

Peter shares two children with his ex-wife, 13-year-old Savannah and 12-year-old Isla, while Lindsay also has two children of her own.

A friend of the couple described Lindsay as “a breath of fresh air”, and it’s understood that the 46-year-old introduced her to his grandmother the late Queen at Windsor in early 2022.

Insiders revealed that Peter’s decision to introduce them was a “clear sign that Lindsay has been welcomed into the family” and created hope within the family that the pair were contemplating marriage.

Sources claimed that the Queen wanted her eldest and “favourite” grandson to be happy.

Following that, the pair continuously appeared at a variety of high-profile royal family events together. These events included Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Royal Ascot, Wimbledon and the Coronation Concert in May 2023.

At the time, a friend told HELLO! that “it meant a lot” to Peter to be able to bring Lindsay to the Concert, adding: “He is in a great place at the moment and could not be happier in either his private or personal life.”

Lindsay went to school at Gordonstoun in Scotland alongside Peter’s sister Zara Tindall, and it’s believed the pair reconnected at a 2019 reunion.

Lindsay attended Zara’s wedding to Mike Tindall in 2011, and was present at the joint christening of Zara’s son Lucas and Princess Eugenie’s son August in 2021.

Nathan was known and loved as a popular presenter on Sunrise, as well as a poolside reporter at the Olympic Games.

It has been revealed that Nathan Templeton sadly died while walking his dog in Victoria on Monday. The Herald Sun reports Nathan was found near Barwon River in Geelong on Monday evening after suffering a medical episode.

He leaves behind his wife Kate and two young sons, Jack and James.

“The tragic news of Nathan’s passing has left us all at Seven profoundly saddened,” Managing Director Seven Melbourne Lewis Martin said in an email to staff on Wednesday.

“Nathan was a respected journalist whose passion for storytelling was evident in all his years reporting for Sunrise, 7NEWS and multiple Olympic Games.

“He was based out of Seven’s Melbourne headquarters but was well known and much-loved right across the network, and through his work on Sunrise and major sporting events, right around Australia.

“Our deepest condolences go out to his family, loved ones and especially his two young sons, during this difficult time.”

Tributes have begun flowing in for Nathan Templeton, with family, friends, colleagues and viewers sending their condolences.

His family released a statement on Wednesday, saying simply: “Our hearts are broken for an adoring father and a wonderful friend, who’ll be missed by many”.

Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr wrote: “The toughest of days today. For 2 beautiful little boys and a whole family of love behind our colleague and mate Tempo. Years of eloquent storytelling behind him and so much more ahead. Too young and so terribly sad for everyone who knew him and all of you who watched and got to know him from afar. Heartfelt condolences to his family. ”

Meanwhile, Edwina Bartholomew also shared a tribute, saying she would remember Nathan for his “gravelly voice” and his “intense passion for all things sport”, She continued saying: “he had a knack for getting the best out of athletes, even when they were disappointed in their own performance. He adored his boys. He will be missed.”

Perth Lord Mayor and former Channel 7 sports presenter Basil Zempilas shared a tribute to Nathan on social media, saying: “This is how I’ll remember Nathan. Always happy, so reliable, incredibly hard working and just so good to have on the team.

“He was team first. Always. That smile made everyone smile, his colleagues, his friends, the athletes, the audience. We’ll miss you little mate, my deepest condolences to Kate and the boys – your dad was a champion, we’ll never forget him.”

Former 7 journalist Ryan Phelan said: “He was an incredibly talented and hardworking colleague but I will treasure our conversations post Channel 7. Sending love to his young family,” he said on X (formerly Twitter).

9News reporter Corey Norris also shared a tribute, saying Nathan was a “brilliant broadcaster, even better bloke”.

The 52-year-old, who was married to fan-favourite Lucinda Light during the season, sat down with A Current Affair on Tuesday night, shedding light on his time spent in an American prison. 

Explaining that he was living in Vancouver at the time, Timothy shocked audiences after revealing he used a helicopter to illegally smuggle large amounts of marijuana from Canada to the US. 

“I was a helicopter pilot in North America that did something really stupid,” he said, sharing that he was paid to take flying lessons for the purpose of trafficking.

“I would take off from a little unmanned airport and I would fly up a valley into a creek where I would meet a four-wheel drive… within a minute, the helicopter would be loaded,” he continued.

Timothy was caught by police in Los Angeles when he returned to the States after visiting his sick mother in Australia. 

In 2006 he was sentenced for “trafficking marijuana over an international border” and served an additional “4 or 6 months in immigration,” after pleading guilty he was sentenced to one year in prison.

“It’s something I’m not proud of. I’m definitely not proud of it, but it doesn’t define who I am and I’m not the same person I was 17 years ago,” he shared with the Australian news program. 

The loss of Timothy’s mother and brother was an emotional storyline during the recent season of MAFS, and during his appearance on A Current Affair, he revealed they both passed while he was serving time in Prison – an experience, which he found harder than his initial serving time. 

“I wasn’t there when my mother and brother died. I paid the price. I pay the price every day,” he said.

Timothy also revealed that he did not tell producers on Married at First Sight he was a convicted drug smuggler when applying for the show. 

Despite being one of the more popular pairings of the season, Lucinda and Timothy departed the show early, however, the couple have maintained a close friendship.

It’s been confirmed that the King and Queen earned over three million Australian dollars for fulfilling their royal duties last year – and they’re set for an even bigger pay rise.

Of the three million that they earned, Mary took home a casual $498,359 which was set aside as a direct ‘grant’.

Most of the couple’s joint income, which is paid for by the state, also covers other ‘dependent’ members of the royal family (including their four children) as well as housing and staff costs.

This meant that in 2023, the King and Queen of Denmark were left with just under $640,000 (AUD) to spend themselves on travel, clothing, and personal expenses.

It’s reported that Frederik and Mary’s income will only continue to increase since they ascended to the throne on 14 January 2024.

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark took home a huge grant of 13 million Australian dollars last year, plus an additional private allowance of $2.9 million AUD.

So, Mary and Frederik will likely see their income take quite a significant jump since Frederik has become the ruling monarch.

However, the Danish government has made known their plans to change their appanage system – appanage refers to the grant of an estate, title, office, money or anything of value to young children of a monarch.

The Danish government is likely to introduce new legislation that will determine the amount of money given to the royal family as well as how it will be divided in terms of paying for royal related versus personal expenses.

According to the Danish press, the exact amount Frederik and Mary will be granted is still unknown as the government hasn’t yet sat on the issue.

In saying that, the Danish royals are exempt from paying tax and also have the ability to earn separate private income.

The King and Queen of Denmark have pursued private income streams for many years, and one example of this is renting out their luxury ski lodge in Switzerland on Airbnb, where they charge up to $20,000 per week!

As royals, the couple live a lavish lifestyle, but Mary is also known for her thrifty outfits. The Australian-born Queen often rewears dresses, suits, blouses and more, prompting her to be referred to as a sustainable and economical royal.

But that doesn’t mean that Mary doesn’t also spend extravagantly on occasion – especially on designer clothing pieces.

With him until the very end, Patrick’s widow Lisa Niemi has often reflected on her 34-year marriage to the actor and dancer.

Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi first met when they were teenagers. The pair were both dancers, with Patrick being the son of the owner and director of the dance studio they attended, Houston Ballet Dance Company.

Five years later, Lisa and the Dirty Dancing star were married on 12 June 1975. The couple moved to New York City shortly after they tied the knot, where they both pursued their dance careers until the late 1970s.

Later, they moved to Los Angeles where Patrick’s career as an actor really took off, and the pair remained together until Patrick’s death in September 2009.

Speaking about her marriage to the Road House actor in 2023, Lisa told the Today Show: “Just because somebody’s gone doesn’t end your relationship with them, We spent 34 years together, and that’s always going to be a part of my life and who I am.”

“I still care and I know how tough Patrick’s and my journey was with this,” the 67-year-old added. “Cancer may have taken him, but it didn’t beat him. And I’m continuing his fight for him.”

While she’s opened up about her loving marriage to Patrick, Lisa has also experienced some undeserved backlash and criticism about getting remarried to her current partner, Albert DePrisco, in 2014.

“Yes, I got a lot of flack — it’s like, ‘How dare you.’ There are some pretty rabid Patrick fans out there who think I’m evil, just don’t like me because I was married to him,” she said on the Amy and T.J. podcast.

“So there was a lot of flack that came on that, a lot of criticism, and you just learn to deal with it and move on. But it’s like — I was so tempted so many times to say, ‘Hey girlfriend, stand in my shoes, tell me about it. Go ahead — tell me just because I lost my husband that I don’t love him anymore.’ “

Lisa met Albert, a jeweller, “about three years after” Patrick’s death. 

“If we had met before then, it wouldn’t have happened, but after three years we were about ready,” she told the podcast. “We were introduced by longtime friends that we had both known for 30 years who vouched for the other person.”

Lisa has opened up about her ongoing connection with her late husband, after 34 years together.

“Patrick is still with me. I still have a relationship with him; he’s physically not here, [but] every day he’s with me and I feel him there,” she said. 

“What was really unusual was … I really fell in love with Albert, and it didn’t affect — it was interesting to see how it didn’t affect my love for Patrick one bit.”

“Just because you lose a loved one doesn’t mean you stop loving, and you don’t have that love to give,” Lisa said.

“And I think Albert and I were fortunate to find someone to give that love to.”

The insider told OK! that, “Harry is very keen for his entire family to join him. It’s important for him that they show a united front and focus on building bridges with the rest of the royal family.”

They added: “The move to bring the Invictus Games back to Britain is seen as an opportunity for Harry and he is very keen to take it. He is adamant that he wants Meghan and the children to join him, but I think she may be apprehensive and I think she finds being in the UK very uncomfortable.”

Meghan wants to avoid “an anxiety-fuelled visit to England where she feels like she’s not wanted”.

The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans, founded by Prince Harry in 2014. Created “to inspire international communities through the power of the unconquered human spirit”.

The Games are held every few years, with the 2025 event being held in Vancouver and Whistler in Canada next February.

The Duke of Sussex was inspired to begin the Invictus Games after returning home from deployment in Afghanistan and it is a cause very close to his heart, which may be why he is fighting to have his whole family join him in England this May in celebration of its tenth anniversary.

Harry is said to be eager to reunite his children with his family, particularly following the news of both King Charles’ and Catherine, Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnoses.

A source also revealed that “Harry would love for Archie and Lilibet to have a better relationship with their cousins or even the children of some of his friends.”

Prince Harry was most recently in the UK visiting King Charles following the announcement of his father’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Prior to that, the Duke of Sussex hadn’t been back to England since the King’s coronation in May 2023, which he also attended solo without his wife and children.

Best friend and former MAFS participant, Domenica Calarco arguably had the best reaction, breaking down into tears as she slowly pieced together that Ella and Guy got hitched.

“A morning run turned into a proposal … I SAID YES ,” Ella captioned the heartwarming video on Instagram.

While in tears, Ella celebrated her engagement with her family and friends, including her MAFS co-star Dominca Calarco who commented on the post: “STILL BAWLING ”

Mere hours later, Ella shared a photo of the pair all loved up, presumably from the engagement party as she donned her stunning wedding ring.

“I love you. I love us. And thank you for choosing me. Everything that we have been through lead us back to eachother, it was all worth it ”

In October, many speculated the pair were engaged when images obtained by The Daily Mail showed Ella presenting a gift to her then-boyfriend. However, it was a ‘bit’ for advertisement.

The lovebirds first launched their relationship in April 2023, with Ella making it Instagram.

“I guess this is a hard launch,” she wrote alongside a picture of the couple.

There were few details around her new man at the time, but a source did inform The Daily Mail that he was “lowkey” and knew how to play the long game.

“Her boyfriend is very lowkey, no one knows who he is. They’ve known each other for six years and he’s been pursuing her in that time. Love was right in front of them the whole time,” a source told The Daily Mail.

Prior to her relationship with Guy, Ella was in a relationship with Made in Chelsea star Miles Nazaire in 2022. The pair chatted online for months before meeting in real life – with their relationship playing out on the E4 show. However, the pair split in October 2022. 

“Made in Chelsea was pretty crazy. The show was intense. It was probably harder than MAFS. It’s such a short period of time. I didn’t find love,” she explained during Channel Nine’s Upfronts presentation in Sydney.

Ella stole Australia’s hearts when she first appeared on the 2021 season of MAFS, where she was married to Mitchell Eynaud. 

While she didn’t find a husband on the series, she was incredibly grateful for the experience, especially since it was where she met her best friend, Domenica Calarco.

“Crazy to think, if we didn’t go on MAFS we wouldn’t be travelling the world together,” Ella wrote on Instagram last year during the pair’s holiday.

“I felt I had let my kids down when I got divorced – my parents are still married and I’d never contemplated being a single parent,” she tells Woman’s Day.

“I felt defeated, and I wasn’t just able to deal with it privately – it was being played out for all the world to see. That was a very difficult time.”

On top of all the societal pressures and growing public interest in her split, Simone was also at a crossroad in her professional life after dedicating the previous 10 years to her now ex-husband and three kids.

“I married at 25 and then had three kids in five years, which was a real blessing but simultaneously I lost myself,” she confesses.

“Between being a wife and a mum, I didn’t feel like my life was aligning with my true self. I had to find that again.”

FIGHTING FOR FAMILY

Following the divorce, Simone says she turned to yoga in a bid to restore her mind and body, and while she had practised the meditative form of exercise for years prior, she began to really hone her skills and found it not only helped her “heal mentally and emotionally” but find her life purpose.

“My practice made me stronger and more at peace internally, and it gave me the tools to take care of myself,” says Simone.

“It was important to invest time in self-care as I had three young kids that needed me, and I knew that I had to be strong for both me and the kids, so I made time to practice.”

Simone adds that she has since become a qualified yoga teacher, which she says has completely “transformed” her belief in herself.

“I still have so much to learn and so much I want to share.

It’s a life-long practice and I’ll continue to keep learning and growing,” she says.

GROWING WITH GRIEF

Now Simone, 54, is sharing her journey of self-discovery with the world in her new book, Growing With Grace.

Told through a combination of anecdotal passages, candid diary entries and interspliced with advice and exercises that readers can apply to their own lives, Simone hopes the book “helps and inspires people to live their best life”.

In one particularly poignant section, Simone opens up about how yoga helped her navigate the arduous waters that is grief.

“In yoga we practice non-attachment and appreciate that nothing is permanent – we have to live in the moment and be present in both the here and now,” she says.

“Grief is fluid – you carry it with you every day but having my little rituals keeps me aligned with my purpose and feeling well.”

In March 2022, Shane died very suddenly from a heart attack while holidaying in Thailand. He was just 52.

“Every day I have gratitude for my life, and for my three kids. Grief has taught me to not take anything for granted and to try my best every day and do the work to stay strong.”

NEW CHAPTER

Simone says that her kids Brooke, 26, Jackson, 24, and Summer, 22, have always been her “number one”, and admits that when she was first approached to create the book, she felt some trepidation around what it would mean for them.

“I wasn’t sure how I felt about sharing my journey,” she notes.

“[But] I spoke to my kids and my family and they all said that I should, so I put pen to paper.”

Gerard Ryan, a 71-year-old Perth man, was arrested in an eastern suburbs park in Sydney late last month after he sent the Nova radio personality, 45, a disturbing message saying he was in her neighbourhood and hoped to find her.

Kate is said to have called the police and laid bare an eerie campaign of harassment that dates back years, after Ryan began to comment on Kate’s social media. “I just want to kiss you my heart is pounding for you I love you madly,” Ryan commented on one of her posts.

When Kate didn’t respond to his obsessive messages they only intensified, both in volume and subject matter.

BIZARRE BEHAVIOUR

Between February 6, 2022 and April 25, 2023, “the accused has sent hundreds of messages to the complainant [Kate]”, the police tendered in court.

In the messages, Ryan is said to have sent “several sexually explicit messages” and “numerous naked photographs.”

After Kate blocked him in April last year, Ryan sent a letter to her work address, which included a Valentine’s Day card with his name and residential address on the back.

Just last month, Ryan sent a gift card worth $200 to her office with a note saying it was to replace her lawnmower, after she spoke on air about her old one breaking down.

Also in the package were four photos, one of which included a picture of a church on Rottnest Island with the words, “The church we could get married one day.”

Ryan pleaded guilty to the chilling charge and has been sentenced to a 12-month conditional release order with an apprehended violence order also in place.

“Most farmers I know are constantly doing lovely things for their wives,” she tells TV WEEK. “Rich and I will, often, when he’s finished working, go and have a gin and tonic down in the paddock in front of a bonfire.”

This is Farmer’s 14th season and the third Sam has been involved with. The 2023 season of the reality favourite was the most successful ever, with Brad and Clare already having had a baby, and David and Emily getting engaged, as well as Andrew and Claire.

Sam says that this season’s farmers are “all gorgeous”.

“I can’t pick a favourite, because it’s like picking your favourite child,” she says. “They’re all my boys. But there are some really good-looking roosters in this lot.”

Sam, who quit as Sunrise co-host in 2021, soon after marrying Richard, says that she’s “very hands-on” at the couple’s property in the NSW Southern Highlands. When she arrives home from hosting Farmer, she gets her hands in the dirt, working in the garden.

“I love that I’m starting to get the balance right,” she says.

Recently, she even helped to deliver a newborn colt. 

“I was a midwife that day,” she explains. “Rich rang me up from the stables and said, ‘Can you get down here? I’m going to need some help.’”

Just as Sam has become part of Richard’s life, he’s become part of hers, glamming up for events and photo shoots.

“I think he loves it a bit much, actually!” she says with a laugh. “Most of the time, we have a pretty quiet life, but he’s not averse to going out and getting dressed up too.”

The 47-year-old says that it feels great to have “a foot in each camp”.

“I still get to do what I love and make television, but I also can come back to the peace and quiet of the country,” she says. “I just don’t think I could live my life all in the public glare. I’ve done that. It’s not very pleasant. This is a really nice break for me and a nice time in my life.”

Having regularly been the subject of social-media pile-ons during her time on Sunrise, Sam reinforces that she’s “really enjoying” being away from all that.

“It’s just so monotonous and horrible, the social media hate that comes with that news and opinion-based world. But it’s the world we live in. As soon as this show goes to air and I’m back on screen, you get a few anonymous idiots writing things to you. I just block them all.”

When Sam’s not working on the farm or hosting Farmer, one of the things she’s doing is writing a sitcom. She hints that there may be a character who goes through things “similar to the stuff I’ve lived through”. Is she writing a role in the sitcom for herself?

“I don’t know if my ego is that big!” she says with a laugh. “We’ll get through Farmer first and then I’ll let you know.”

Farmer has been a welcome diversion for Sam during a “very sad time” in her life. In February, she unexpectedly lost her beloved labrador, Banjo, who she described as “my best mate, my baby and my shadow”.

“I’ve been busy working, so it’s quite good to have had a purpose, because it’s been a time of grief,” she explains. “It’s been horrible, but that’s life. You love, you grieve.”

For Sam, Farmer doesn’t feel like a TV show as she’s shooting it. 

“It’s a bit like a rite of passage, where you become part of the Farmer family forever,” she says. “I still stay in touch with a lot of the farmers. In fact, they all sent me lovely messages when Banjo died. That was very sweet, so there’s a connection there that lasts.”

Beatrice, 35, and Eugenie, 34, – children to Sara Ferguson and Prince Andrew – both work regular jobs but experts say we could potentially, but unlikely, see the King’s nieces help out.

The Daily Beast has recently reported that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are “disappointed” that His Majesty has not yet asked for their help while the British monarchy has a limited number of staff compared to usual.

A palace insider and friend of the sisters told the Daily Beast that the Beatrice and Eugenie are upset they “aren’t being used at all” and want to “be of service”.

“They are very upset to have been ignored by the king as they feel they have a lot to offer, but ultimately not surprised,” the source claimed.

However, another royal expert has revealed that Charles’ decision to not call upon the sisters is deliberate as he is a strong advocate for a slimmed down monarchy.

Michael Cole, a royal commentator, told The Royal Observer that the King has been selective about who he allows to step in during this difficult time for the Crown.

“It is difficult to see major roles for Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. That is not because they are not willing, they are nice people and good ambassadors for this country,” Michael explained.

“He [King Charles] wants to concentrate on the direct line of succession, from him to Prince William and then Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. That is how he wants it. But the King deliberately wants to concentrate on the main line of succession.”

Additionally, another insider has claimed that the King is following in his late mother’s footsteps with the debate over “part-time working royals”, sparked by Prince Harry’s decision to leave the UK while simultaneously maintaining some official roles.

While Charles is “very fond” of his nieces Beatrice and Eugenie, “Everyone, including [the sisters], accepts there is no place for them to be full-time working royals. And as the late Queen Elizabeth made clear, being a part-time working royal isn’t an option,” the source said.
