The post Why Melissa Leong will not be returning to MasterChef in 2024 appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
It’s official, Channel 10 has announced that Melissa Leong will not be returning to MasterChef Australia for the 2024 season.

The beloved judge unfortunately can’t return to the show due to many scheduling conflicts. However, no need to worry, she won’t be disappearing from your screens completely.

Melissa was the host of Dessert Masters for its first season alongside amazing pastry chef Amaury Guichon (who you may recognise from his addictive TikTok content), and will also be featuring in SBS’s three-part series The Hospital: In The Deep End this year.

Melissa shared how being a judge on the iconic food show has just opened up more opportunities for her and grown her as a person.

“Over the past four years, MasterChef Australia has infused my life with something truly magical,” explains Melissa.

“The great honour of growing the MasterChef Australia family with the introduction of Dessert Masters is not lost on me. I relish the sweet opportunity to nurture this special series alongside Amaury.”

However, not everyone understood the change and responded to her decision immediately, without the context of her decision making.

She responded to these claims in an Instagram post by reaffirming her excitement for this new chapter.

“I get that there is going to be a bit of confusion and chaos about the ‘why’ of it all right now,” says Melissa.

“I’m here and happy to clear that up, because negative tropes draped around women who achieve something is boring, and frankly we are all better than that.”

She continued, “This is a shift I embrace with joy. One that allows everyone involved, to expand.”

“To put it plainly, I’m very fortunate to continue to be a key part of @masterchefau, yet have the space to evolve my career.”

MasterChef Australia has decided to take a new direction moving into 2024, with a mixed panel of homegrown heroes and international star chefs.

Andy Allen will be there to carry on Jock Zonfrillo’s legacy after he devastatingly passed away on April 30, 2023.

He will be joined by MasterChef alumnus Poh Ling Yeow, food critic and journalist Sofia Levin, and multi–Michelin Star award-winning chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli.

MasterChef Australia has been part of my life for over a decade. It gave me a pathway into the industry and led me to a career that I’m forever grateful for,” Andy excitingly explained.

“After an extremely difficult year in 2023, and upon reflection, the decision to return to the series is not one I took lightly.”

“But there is something special in the MasterChef Australia Kitchen, and it feels right to come back to work with the amazing production team, and to play my role in seeing the contestants do as I have done.”

Andy concluded his statement saying, “2024 will be the start of a new chapter, and it will be surreal – yet brilliant – to share this moment with my fellow judges, Poh, Sofia and Jean-Christophe.”

Melissa also congratulated the new judges by saying, “It is with great enthusiasm and warmth that I welcome new faces Sofia, Poh, and Jean-Christophe, to this very special family, I know they will make it theirs in their own special way, as we did.”

The most anticipated new judge would have to be none other than former contestant, Poh Ling Yeow. Poh has been with MasterChef from the start, finishing runner up the TV series debut season.

“Talk about a thrilling, full-circle moment,” thoughtfully stated by Poh.

MasterChef Australia is where my food story began, so this feels like coming home. A big part of me will always be standing on the other side with the contestants and I hope when they look to me, they see proof you don’t have to win to win.”

In 2024, MasterChef Australia is entering its 16th season and this year the show has a new look.

Former judge Melissa Leong departed the MasterChef kitchen following the 2023 season due to scheduling conflicts for her new projects, but not before appearing as a judge on the MasterChef spinoff show, Dessert Masters.

Tragically, judge Jock Zonfrillo passed away early last year, just prior to the 2023 season’s launch. Andy Allen remains the only judge returning from last year and he is carrying on the legacy of his late-friend.

Below, Woman’s Day chronicles everything to know about the new MasterChef judges for 2024.

Image: Channel 10

Sofia Levin

Melbourne-based culinary journalist Sofia Levin has certainly made waves in the Australian food industry. Since 2013 she’s been sharing her insights and witty thoughts on all things food for publications like Lonely Planet, The Guardian and The Age.

In 2021 she launched a food blog, Seasoned Traveller, that encourages readers to “eat curiously”.

“The first season of MasterChef Australia aired the same year that I started writing about food,” says the 35-year-old. “Becoming a judge on MasterChef feels like two parallel paths converging, and I’m giddy with excitement at the people that I get to stand beside.”

Image: Channel 10

Jamie Oliver

There aren’t many people who are unaware of Jamie Oliver‘s career as a successful TV chef and cookbook author. This season, the 48-year-old restaurateur will set a MasterChef record as he lends a helping hand as part of an epic two-week-long guest appearance – the biggest cameo a chef has ever had in the MasterChef Australia kitchen.

“Returning to MasterChef and spending time in Australia makes me very happy,” he says.

“I think that it’s the best food show in the world.

“I love seeing how the contestants constantly surprise themselves with what they can achieve.”

Image: Channel 10

Andy Allen

Returning judge Andy Allen is another former contestant who has found success as a restaurateur, television presenter and cookbook author. For this season’s hopefuls, the quickest way to win Andy’s favour is by cooking with seafood!

“My earliest memories of cooking were going to the beach or fishing or spear-fishing, with my family coming back and cooking up the catch, and it really did open my eyes to what food could be,” says the 35-year-old, who won season four in 2012.

But they better not leave a mess behind, as that’s his pet peeve in the kitchen! “There’s no time for that. It makes everything more difficult.”

Image: Channel 10

Poh Ling Yeow

As the runner-up in season one of MasterChef, 50-year-old Poh Ling Yeow is looking forward to being on the opposite side of the bench this year.

“Talk about a thrilling, full-circle moment. MasterChef is where my story began, so it feels like coming home,” she says. “A big part of me will always be standing on the other side with the contestants and I hope that when they look to me, they see proof you don’t have to win to win.”

Since appearing on the show, the cook has carved out a successful career in the food industry, hosting multiple TV programs, publishing cookbooks and running a popular market stall in Adelaide.

Image: Channel 10

Jean-Christophe Novelli

French-born chef Jean-Christophe moved to the UK back in 1983, where he won the first of four Michelin stars while at Gordleton Mill before opening his own restaurant, Maison Novelli, in 1996.

Since then, he has owned several other restaurants around the globe, published several cookbooks and even started his own cooking school. So, it’s no surprise that he hopes to impart his wisdom to the next set of MasterChef contestants.

“Fostering culinary talent is what I have cared about for many years, and it’s a passion that I’m excited to share in the MasterChef kitchen,” says the 63-year-old.

MasterChef season one runner-up Poh Ling Yeow has had a relationship history as intriguing as some of her culinary creations.

The 50-year-old has been divorced twice, but she has managed to maintain friendships with both of her ex-husbands.

MasterChef favourite Poh has an interesting love life history.

(Image: Getty)

Poh and her first husband Matt Phipps met when they were both Mormons, and leant on each other as they extricated themselves from the church a few years later. Though they divorced in 1999 after nine years of marriage, their split was anything but messy.

In fact, Matt is now married to Poh’s best friend of 20 years Sarah Rich, but there is no bad blood whatsoever.

“He’s my ex-husband. She’s my best friend. And when we broke up, they got together and it’s all dandy. It’s actually really good!” the MasterChef judge told Mamamia in 2017.

“Everyone tries to complicate it. From the outside in, they’re all like ‘love triangle!’ And I’m like, ‘no!’ He’s like my brother now and I think … people are never interested in the back story. They want everything to be sordid.”

Poh went on to marry Jono Bennett, whom she met on the set of MasterChef season one.

Poh then went on to marry aspiring actor Jonathan “Jono” Bennett, whom she met on the first season of MasterChef in 2009, where Jono was working as a production assistant.

“We weren’t really allowed to talk because that’s part of the rules. You can’t fraternise with the staff because I guess they can tell you secrets (about the next challenge) or something,” she explained.

“I think it got a little more charged because we weren’t allowed to talk to each other. It was like the playground … cute looks across the yard, sort of thing. Then, after the show we hooked up. There was a wrap party and we exchanged numbers straight away and it was all guns after that.”

However, Jono admitted to Now To Love that he was initially suspicious of Poh’s bond with her ex.

“It was hard at first, but it was my own personal issues of confidence in myself and jealousy, which had no reason to be there,” he confessed.

“It was something we all had to work on essentially. I know it’s very human to be jealous, but it doesn’t make it right.”

“He’s like my brother,” Poh added. “We’re much better suited as friends.”

Poh and Jono’s relationship with Matt and Sarah was so strong that the two couples went into business together in 2015, opening Jamface café at the Adelaide Central Market.

After being married for six years, Poh announced her and Jono has separated in early 2021.

“2021 is about doing the things I love and remembering who I am without another person,” Poh told The Weekend Australian following their breakup.

“Jono and I broke up … but [we] still work together and are the best of friends,” she confirmed. “It’s been the most untraumatic breakup possible, and I’m single again after 12 years.”

The nations favourite reality dating television series, Married At First Sight Australia has come to an end and oh boy was it an explosive eleventh season.

Relationship experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and sexologist Alessandra Rampolla paired who they believed worked best – on paper… Not all of the pairings survived to final vows and certainly not every couple made it past the finale.

Meet the MAFS couples.

(Image: Nine)

In previous years, we’ve seen couples reach their limits, find love, find hate and even find love in another participant – which seems to have repeated in 2024.

With the 2024 MAFS experiment over, we have kept track of which couples have ended and who have gone the distance. Continue scrolling for all the details.

Ellie & Jonathan

While they weren’t an official pairing on Married At First Sight Australia 2024, Ellie and Jonathan found love with one another. The pair remained in contact while Jono was in the series, but a week after his and Lauren’s savage final vows, Jono reached out to Ellie – and their connection flourished.

Since the experiments end, the pair have gone on their first holiday together and regularly catch up with some of their MAFS co-participants.

Jade & Ridge

The final couple to enter the MAFS experiment was Ridge and Jade.

Ready to bid farewell his party-boy lifestyle, Ridge hopes to find a serious and loving relationship like his parents. Meanwhile, Jade is a mother to 8-year-old Veronica and given her single mum-status, she has struggled to find a serious relationship.

While Jade held reservations that her new husband wouldn’t be mature enough for her and daughter V, the pair developed a strong relationship throughout the experiment – arguably one of the strongest.

During final vows, Jade and Ridge made the decision to continue their relationship outside of the MAFS experiment.

Madeleine & Ash

MAFS Intruder couple Ash and Madeleine are bound to turn heads this season.

During the wedding events, Madeleine received numerous psychic downloads from her ‘guides’ which made for some awkward moments between the pair. Despite this, Ash seemed confident there was potential for a connection between them.

But this confidence soon faded as Ash became more “frustrated” and confused by his wife’s behaviour. Despite this, he wrote stay while Madeleine wrote leave during their first commitment ceremony.

A mere 24 hours later, Ash regretted his decision and exited the experiment.

Stephen & Michael

Although Michael’s initial match unexpectedly exited the MAFS experiment, it may have been divine intervention as Stephen and Michael seemed to be a match made in heaven.

Both hailing from big families, the newlyweds are more than ready to start a family of their own.

The connection and attraction was evident from the moment they laid eyes on each other. But sadly, that was it… The connection fizzled out as Michael discovered his husband “flirting” with a hairdresser during a publicity shoot. It was here when Stephen revealed: “Feeling that instant attraction to someone, it was like a clarity – that’s what’s missing.”

The following commitment ceremony was their last with both parties writing leave.

Lauren & Jonathan

While most people try to run from red flags, Lauren admits she runs straight for them. In an attempt to break old habits, she has asked the experts for help in finding a husband who is calm and level-headed.

She found just that in Jonathan follows a strict daily health and exercise routine, even spending the morning of his wedding exercising while Lauren overslept, applied last minute fake tan and forgot her bouquet at her accommodation.

After the rose-coloured glasses wore off the next day, Lauren began to fear her new husband was “boring.” But this wasn’t the red flag for Lauren, it was towards the end of the experiment when she discovered husband Jono was texting ex-participant Ellie in what he believed was a platonic “friendship.”

During the final vows, the pair decided to end their relationship with the most savage vows this season.

Andrea & Richard

Richard, 62, who believes age is just a number and Andrea, 51, who is as equally young at heart, are the oldest couple to walk down the MAFS aisle.

The connection and attraction was immediate for the lovebirds, who danced a little silly for the first time as a ‘married’ couple and couldn’t keep their hands off one another during the honeymoon.

But sadly, that was where the romance ended. After Richard made an intimacy confession during a commitment ceremony, Andrea admittedly “closed off.”

Despite the initial passion, the pair had different communication styles and couldn’t overcome their issues. Mutually, they made the decision to exit the experiment.

Ben & Ellie

All was smooth sailing for MAFS newlyweds Ben and Ellie, both were stunned by who the experts had paired them with. As an added bonus, they ticked off each others desire for a partner keen on adventure.

Ellie, a 32-year-old nurse and Ben, a 39-year-old tour guide. The pair seemed perfect for one another on paper, but once the experiment began, flaws began to rear their ugly head.

It all exploded when Ellie wrote leave during the commitment ceremony. In the following days, Ben wrote a list of what “he has not enjoyed about this relationship or [Ellie].”

The next dinner party, Ben revealed that he and Ellie are just friends, and he was “sorry for wasting [Ellie’s] time” – in front of the whole group.

As of the following commitment ceremony, the pair exited the experiment.

Natalie & Collins

Natalie, 32, has had plenty of experience in relationships but her newly paired MAFS ‘husband’ Collins, 28, has never been in a relationship. The experts hope her knowledge in romance will help Collins come out of his shell.

Their relationship started to go awry when Collins became overwhelmed by his new wife’s intense and enthusiastic personality. This downward spiral continued leading to Nat wanting to exit the experiment during the first dinner party but returned to give the ‘marriage’ one more try.

Believing Collins was putting on a “Oscars” worthy-performance, Nat ended her time in the experiment and therefore her relationship with Collins.

Jayden & Eden

Jayden, 26, is a professional kickboxer who often gets prematurely judged by his career and appearance. However, this softie who loves cuddles has been with Eden, 28, a recruitment manager on MAFS 2024.

Despite both living in the Gold Coast, mere minutes away from each other, Jayden and Eden have never crossed paths.

The relationship experts have made a heavenly match with these two, after they ticked off box after box for one another. Fans had such high hopes for the couple, and while they decided to continue the relationship outside of the experiment, their relationship came to an “unexpected” end. Eden revealed in a post shared to Instagram that “the person I chose didn’t choose me.”

For more details on Jayden and Eden’s break up, click here.

Jack & Tori

Can self-proclaimed ‘alpha’ and self-confessed ‘control freak’ find love on MAFS? In the second episode, viewers were introduced to Jack and Tori.

From the vows, Jack knew his new wife would “challenge” him but he is confident he will “sort her out.” Meanwhile, Jack ticked off all the right boxes for Tori.

Viewers and participants alike doubted Jack and Tori would survive the experiment – and despite the many ups and downs they faced, they have decided to remain together in the real world.

Timothy & Lucinda

Dubbed ‘the tin man’ by his friends, Timothy is hoping someone might find his heart in the MAFS experiment. While there was an initial shock when he discovered his bride, Lucinda, was a spiritual soul – which was not on his wish list.

Despite an interesting wedding ceremony and an “awkward” photoshoot, Timothy began to admire Lucinda’s kind and caring nature. We believed there was hope for these two as Timothy’s walls began to crumble. But sadly, all Timothy and Lucinda found was an extraordinary friendship.

The pair exited the experiment later on in the season.

Cassandra & Tristan

The next bride 30-year-old Cassandra from Queensland was paired with 30-year-old entertainment manager Tristian from Sydney. While nerves got the better of Tristan at the ceremony, all fears melted away during the reception when everyone fell in love with Cassandra’s dad, Moddy.

Both family-oriented and cheerful people, Cassandra and Tristan seemed to be matched perfectly. And despite only knowing each other for a short amount of time, Tristan surprised his new wife with flowers and chocolate for her birthday.

Unfortunately, the timing of these two wasn’t meant to be. While Cassandra really liked Tristan, he pushed her away due to his own insecurities. But when the tables turned and Tristan admitted he was falling in love with Cass, she couldn’t see a future for them.

Cassandra and Tristan mutually decided to leave the MAFS experiment.

Sara & Tim

The first match to grace the MAFS 2024 season is 29-year-old nutritionist from Sydney, Sara and Tim, a 31-year-old online business owner from the Gold Coast.

Initially, this was a match made in heaven with Tim sweeping Sarah off her feet after greeting her in Spanish, with Sarah originally being from Colombia. A steamy wedding photoshoot is later followed by a disastrous reception when Sarah holds huge concerns her new husband may not be over his ex-partner.

Ironically, it was Sara who was involved in this seasons cheating scandal after another bride revealed she had met up with her ex-partner mid-experiment. Over time – and some heated discussions – the pair wanted to rebuild their relationship.

Surprisingly, during the MAFS final vows they decided to continue their relationship in the outside world. But mid-experiment, Tim was spotted kissing a brunette that certainly wasn’t his MAFS bride – so when did the couple break up?

Even after the reunion – where they were in fact still together – Sara and Tim hadn’t announced their break up, until the bride shared a casual message that she was “still single” while participating in a TikTok trend.

Is I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia real or fake? The post Is I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia real or fake? We investigate appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Let’s be honest, we all wouldn’t mind living the seemingly plush life of a celebrity every once in a while.

From the very finest decor, to drool-worthy wardrobes, to plush cars at your finger tips, it seems there’s plenty to be enjoyed when you’re an A-lister. But that’s why shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! are rather enjoyable to watch.

The show provides a sight for sore eyes as pampered celebs are thrown into a jungle where they have to fend for themselves, win challenges and sometimes lose a little bit of dignity as they vie for small comforts we often take for granted.

Going by past seasons’ tantrums, dramatic weight loss and tell-all interviews, it seems the show really does go all out in putting celebrities well and truly out of their comfort zone… well almost.

The show itself is indeed filmed in a rather remote location, with previous series (and the 2024 season) being filmed in none other than the Kruger National Park, South Africa – a long way from the bustling inner city hubs of Sydney and Melbourne where many of the contestants usually reside.

But when it comes to the set, it seems there might be some allowances – that’s if other seasons and international versions of the show are anything to go by.

Keep scrolling as we investigate the supposed realness of the TV show that has the world glued to their screens.

Is the camp real?

According to former contestants on the English version of I’m A Celebrity, the Murwillumbah NSW camp (where the Australian seasons were filmed in 2021 and 2022 and where the UK season is ALWAYS filmed) itself isn’t all it seems.

Women’s Own magazine revealed that some of the rocks where many of the British contestants are seen seated are actually made out of papier-mâché. Yep you read that right!

What’s more, the waterfall seen in a number of scenes is also claimed as being rather unnatural.

UK news website Heart reported that the waterfall was an artificial prop which was turned off for three hours a day in order to conserve water.

As for the South African location in the Kruger National Park, news.com.au reporter Anthony Sharwood revealed in 2015 that the set was actually on a veldt.

A veldt is an African term describing a mostly grassy area with only a few trees, and it seems the show is filmed in a deep valley where things are slightly wetter with more bush.

Parts of the campsite might well be modified on the reality TV show. (Image: Network 10)

2023 castaway Woody revealed the terrifying reality of the jungle on his radio show Will and Woody. Yet to enter the show, Woody spilled on what he had been told by producers and show security before he was dropped in South Africa.

”I was under the impression that the jungle would be a fenced off area, and the animals that came in and out would be controlled.

”But the head of security, Steve, told me that outside of the campsite is actually surrounded by guys in camo. They are effectively standing there and they’re going to let people know if there is a lion or a water buffalo or anything going into the campsite and then they can effectively get the animal to go away.”

Woody then added that he has been told to always ”verbalise” if he sees a snake at the campground, esepcially spitting cobras who are known to frequent the area and will spit venom at your eyes if they feel threatened.

”You are in a wild environment and animals will walk through there,” Woody continued as his co host Will just shook his head in disbelief!

You can’t get any realer than that!

Do the contestants get extra food?

The aforementioned weight loss from a number of past contestants definitely suggests that celebs really are put to the test when it comes to earning their food – and the British version of the show has backed this up.

Speaking to UK publication, The Mirror, a medic for the show confirmed that some celebrities had been so malnourished that they suffered from dizziness.

Luckily, show producers don’t put them completely at risk, allowing medics to give them “electrolyte drinks and some glucose,” the medic revealed.

“If you could see how much rice and beans they get per person, per day, I think you’d be quite shocked. The little bit of rice is quite tiny and the little bit of beans is quite tiny.”

According to a stand in for season nine, the food in the camp is ”terrible” and comes in ”such small portions”.

”Rice, beans, and a brekkie of about a small fistful of bland, flavourless oats per person,” news.com.au entertainment journalist Nick Bond said.

Does airtime make a difference?

Avid fans will agree that show fixing can occur, and the 2016 season in the UK was case in point.

Viewers claimed that Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffat was given an “unfair” amount of screen time by producers, which ultimate led her to win the show, according to The Mirror.

One fan addressed the rumours on social media saying: “As much as I love I’m A Celebrity, it’s getting really annoying that 90% of the airtime is filled with Scarlett, bit of favouritism going on?”

The husband of another contestant also took to Twitter to voice his concerns about the way Scarlett was portrayed on the show.

“I do like Scarlett but it’s almost like she’s been scripted,” he wrote in a Tweet. “She knows exactly what to say to get people on her side. Is it real?”

Looks like we’ll be keeping a very close eye on airtime of each contestant in this impending Australian season!

Can contestants sneak in their own possessions?

Funnily enough, it seems it’s very possible for contestants to sneak in their own little treats. What’s more, it doesn’t even seem that difficult!

During the 2018 Australian season of I’m A Celebrity, contestant Josh Gibson plain admitted that he had snuck in his own preferred vices.

“I snuck in lollies in my water bottle and the lining of my Akubra hat had coffee sachets,” he revealed to Now To Love.

It seems former contestant Josh managed to sneak his own treats into the jungle! (Image: Network 10)

And it seems there’s also some leeway when it comes to some other, rather unbecoming habits.

In 2016, it was revealed that some celebrities are allowed one particular luxury from time to time during filming – cigarettes.

Indeed, Ten confirmed that contestants have been allowed to smoke off-camera. This included known smoker Shane Warne during his I’m A Celebrity stint.

In an extract from his book No Spin, Warne admitted: “I could smoke but had to follow the process of being about a hundred yards from the camp with a security guard accompanying me.”

Furthermore, the blonde cricketer was also allowed to have his hair done, as it apparently required a treatment by Advanced Hair every three weeks.

“It was a simple enough strand-by-strand process to the crown of my head and took no more than 45 minutes.”

Do contestants get a say in what they wear?

The standard uniform for celebs is bright red shorts, a shirt to match with your name on it, an akubra and a long sleeve khaki overshirt.

2024 contestant Candice Warner spoke to Mamamia! about their clothes on the show, saying: “You get one pair of shorts, one pair of pants, one t-shirt and one singlet, and each day you are getting absolutely filthy, but your clothes don’t [get washed].

“If you wash them, it takes about two or three days for your clothes to dry, because we don’t have a lot of sunlight coming into the camp. So it’s just being dirty and quite unhygienic for a lot of the time that can be a bit gross,” she admitted.

Is the winner already decided?

Ajay starred on the 2019 season.

(IMAGE: Channel 10)

According to 2019 contestant (and ex Biggest Loser host) Ajay Rochester, the answer is yes!

Revealing supposed details from her contract at time of casting, Ajay revealed a clause in the small print that said that Network 10 had the final say in the order of elimination for the season.

If this is the case, then that would mean fans voting from home had no control over who stayed and who sashayed away from camp…..woah!

”In the contract, it says in very little tiny writing right at the end that Channel 10 can choose to elect a winner regardless of votes,” Ajay said in her expose TikTok.

”It also says Channel 10 can decide when the contestants are eliminated – with or without the voting,” she added.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here airs Sunday to Thursday, 7:30pm, on 10 and 10Play.

Is Farmer Wants A Wife as real as it seems? We investigate https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/reality-tv/farmer-wants-a-wife-real-or-fake-68411/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 23:28:39 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/reality-tv/farmer-wants-a-wife/farmer-wants-a-wife-real-or-fake-68411 Turns out the show about ‘real love’ may not be so real after all…

The post Is Farmer Wants A Wife as real as it seems? We investigate appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
While it’s no secret that reality TV isn’t exactly real any more, viewers have turned on the one show that prides itself on finding “real love” – Farmer Wants A Wife.

With the 2024 season kicking off, fans have begun to wonder who sets up the romantic dates? With many believing the show is “staged.” However, Farmer Bert has revealed the gentlemen hold some weight behind the creative process.

“They’re all based off of our ideas,” Bert told Yahoo Lifestyle. “I guess there’s probably some bits that are added into it that maybe were suggested. But, you know, they’re all our ideas of a date, like sitting at the dam and just having a bit of a picnic or whatever, or just somewhere nice on the property – that is probably something that we would do.”

While the romantic element like candles and cushions are made picture perfect for television by crew, its clear the farmers do have the romantic touch!

In 2021 fans were suspicious of FWAW when residents from the tiny towns that the farmers hailed from were coming out in droves to reveal the lengths producers have gone to in order to create the show’s backdrops – and some of them would rival the sets seen on a Hollywood film.

In one comment posted to Instagram, a confused viewer – and resident of Orbost, a small country town in East Gippsland, Victoria, where Farmer Matt lives – drew attention to the fact that the local pub used for one date was slightly misleading.

“I live in Orbost and I can tell you that the pub on tonight’s episode is definitely not the pub in Orbost,” she wrote, shortly after last Wednesday night’s episode aired.

“We have one pub here and one in Marlo, 10 minutes down the road, and neither of those were in tonight’s episode! The date Matt took the girl on, to a winery, wouldn’t be within 100km of Orbost either.”

One fan, who claimed to live in Farmer Matt’s town of Orbost, wrote online that the pub seen in a recent episode wasn’t in fact even in Orbost.

(Credit: Channel 7)

The viewer then went on to claim that extras were brought in to liven up the place.

“None of the ‘regulars’ were even Orbost people! Very interesting watching your own so-called town [on TV].”

Before the show had even started, locals were also bringing into question the authenticity of the farmers, with some saying Farmer Sam wasn’t the sheep and cropping farmer he claimed to be – and was instead a city slicker from Sydney who works as a truck driver.

“He isn’t even a farmer! He used his brother’s farm on the show,” one bemused fan, who lives in Sam’s supposed town of Canowindra, NSW, wrote on a social media post.

However Sam since addressed the rumours with a heartfelt post on Instagram, explaining: “I want to address the criticism and rumours that are currently circulating regarding my time spent on @farmeraustralia and my life outside of the show.

“The farm you see in the show is a family farm. I have a partnership with my brother and I never once claimed that it is explicitly mine. I would hate to take that away from my brother.

“I split my time between the farm and nearby Orange, where I took Mackenzie for our date. My brother and sister-in-law are great people, but you don’t always want to be the third wheel.

Before the show had even started, locals were also bringing into question the authenticity of the farmers, with some saying Farmer Sam, 24, wasn’t the sheep and cropping farmer he claimed to be – and was instead a city slicker from Sydney who works as a truck driver!

(Credit: Channel 7)

Sam continued his post, addressing other aspects viewers have picked and prodded him about: “I’m just like every other person out there – sometimes two incomes are needed to pay the bills. I drive trucks as a second income and that’s never been a secret.

“Life is still going on while filming is happening. On the few days we had off, I still had to attend to work and life commitments and it was pretty challenging.

He also explained that his mother’s health had been an issue and “something I had trouble processing, so some days, like every human, I’d have a hard time. I didn’t want to have to talk about this out of respect to my mum’s privacy, but I feel I need to address this to be completely transparent.

He added: “I never had a girlfriend while filming. I went on this show to experience life and love and form new connections. I could never do that to someone and I could never do that to myself. It’s not in my nature.”

There’s a high calibre of celebrities braving the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia in 2024.

The contestants have to endure a variety of adrenaline-inducing challenges, disgusting food trials, and less-than-ideal camp conditions, but they’re doing it all in the hopes of winning $100,000 for their chosen charities.

As the episodes progress, the celebrities will be eliminated thanks to Australia’s voting.

12 celebrities are competing, but who has what it takes to be crowned King or Queen of the jungle?

Scroll through to see who has left I’m A Celebrity so far…

(Image: Channel 10)

Stephen K Amos

Camp funnyman Stephen K Amos has been eliminated from the South African jungle.

During his time on the show, the comedian had his fellow celebrities constantly laughing thanks to his witty jokes and hilarious life experiences. Stephen also faced his fears and thanks to Paralympic gold-medallist Ellie Cole, he learned how to swim.

Speaking with TV Week after his elimination, Stephen said one of the best parts of his experience was learning to swim.

“I had a gold-medal-winning Paralympic swimmer teaching me. She’s going to be commentating at both the Olympics and the Paralympics later this year – and she taught me how to swim! I’ll never, ever forget that for the rest of my days, I mean how good is that?,” Stephen shared.

Khanh Ong

Resident jungle chef Khanh Ong has been voted off I’m A Celebrity 2024.

During his time on the show, Khanh showed off his cooking skills from MasterChef Australia as well as survival tips and tricks he picked up during his stint on Australian Survivor.

Speaking with TV Week, Khanh said his favourite part of the show was cooking every night with his fellow celebrities.

“I would have one of the celebrities as my sous chef every night and they really opened up.

“I feel like when you’re cooking with food, people open up, they’re a bit more comfortable, and I would learn about their lives and families and their children. And that was by far my favourite part.”

(Image: Channel 10)

Peter Daicos

AFL legend Peter Daicos was sadly eliminated from the show by Australia.

The Collingwood great forged strong friendships with the other celebrities, and won the hearts of viewers while speaking about his career and family.

Following his exit from I’m A Celebrity, Peter said: “I have come out of camp feeling like my self esteem has gone through the roof. I am patting myself on the back and feel so good about what I have achieved.”

(Image: Channel 10)

Michelle Bridges

Fitness guru and reality TV veteran Michelle Bridges was the third celebrity to be voted out in 2024.

Michelle was game for anything when it came to challenges, and her performance in the ‘Hole In One Mouthful’ food trial was undoubtedly her strongest and bravest performance on the show.

(Image: Channel 10)

Frankie Muniz

Child star Frankie Muniz was the first celebrity to walk out of the show in the 2024 season.

The Malcolm in the Middle star revealed to his fellow campmates that he was struggling being away from his family, and a letter from home solidified his decision to go home to be with his wife and young son.

(Image: Channel 10)

Candice Warner

Candice Warner was the second celebrity eliminated from the jungle in 2024.

While on the show, the former Ironwoman braved multiple tough challenges and faced some of her biggest fears.

When speaking with our sister site New Idea, Candice revealed how excited she was to speak to her family again, and how proud her daughters are of her.

“They were just so proud of me and I haven’t had that before. It’s always ‘look at what daddy’s done, daddy’s scored a century’. For them to be super proud of their mum doing really cool stuff was a really lovely moment.”

(Image: Channel 10)

Denise Drysdale

As the last to enter the camp, 75-year-old television personality Denise Drysdale was also the first to leave this year.

The national treasure joked about being happy about leaving the jungle so soon, saying: “Can I thank people who voted me out? If I see you anywhere, come up and say hello. I’ll buy you a drink!”

TV Week spoke with Denise after her elimination, and she divulged on her unlikely friendship with Love Island Australia star Callum Hole.

“I got on so well with Callum because he’s a beautiful person. I know he’s out there on Love Island and reality shows and he is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. But underneath, he’s a really lovely person, he’s great. I felt like I could mother him,” Denise shared.

MAFS 2024 pairing Jayden and Eden have called it quits https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/reality-tv/married-at-first-sight-australia-2024-jayden-eden-still-together-79957/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 22:09:25 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/reality-tv/married-at-first-sight/married-at-first-sight-australia-2024-jayden-eden-still-together-79957 Their "fairytale" has come to an end.

The post MAFS 2024 pairing Jayden and Eden have called it quits appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Despite his appearance and his career as a professional kickboxer, Jayden, 26, is a big teddy bear looking for love, and we were hoping he’d find it in new Married At First Sight Australia 2024 ‘wife’ Eden – but unfortunately, the pair have called it quits.

Eden took to Instagram on April 17 to announce the pair didn’t get their “fairytale” ending.

(Image: Instagram)

“When I made the decision at final vows to be with Jayden, I really did that with longterm intentions. Jayden & I spent many months together after the experiment, during which Cub gained a dad and I gained a second family who I’m truly grateful for,” she captioned the above post.

“I’m saddened to share that toward the end of the show airing, our relationship came to an unexpected end. The ‘reality’ is, the person I chose didn’t choose me. Whilst I’m disappointed, I will never regret the experiment, the people I met, the lessons I learnt and the growth this process has had on me.”

“Thank you for supporting us and for also wishing for the same fairytale that I had hoped for.”

Meanwhile, Jayden shared his own post: “Sometimes in life, things don’t always go the way you had hoped for. After the experiment, Eden and I went back to the Gold Coast and continued to enjoy living our lives together and getting to know each other every day.”

“However, unfortunately, our relationship ended not long before the end of the experiment airing. As sad as it is, I’m so glad I got to go through this with such an amazing woman and a beautiful son 🐶 You will both always have a second family on the Gold Coast ❤

In late March, the pair attended the Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie MAFS dinner party 2.0 and appeared to be all loved up as they embraced for photos. The reunion episode later aired on April 9, 2024.

While MAFS fans mourn Jayden and Eden’s break up, we take a look back at their journey in the experiment.

Jayden and Eden have been paired on MAFS.

Jayden and Eden have been paired on MAFS.

(Image: Nine)

Eden is a 28-year-old recruitment manager who lives in the Gold Coast, to which the pair live mere minutes apart.

In her wedding vows, Eden admitted Jayden wouldn’t be the only man in her life, “I have a four-year-old golden retriever called Cub.”

For big softie Jayden, this was a huge tick. But during the wedding reception, his insecurities began to rear their heads.

“She doesn’t party, she doesn’t drink, she loves walks, she’s got a golden retriever. She’s literally a female version of me, ticks every box and she’s stunning,” he confessed to his brother Mitch, who appeared in MAFS alongside Ella May Ding.

Cub is Eden’s first man.

(Image: Nine)

“Probably the only bad thing is when you meet a girl, you can tell straightaway if they like you or not. I got the vibe she doesn’t really like me.”

Mitch reassured his brother. Later in the night, Jayden did the mature thing and pulled Eden for a chat to discuss her feelings. Communication is key!

“I think it was funny when Jayden said he wasn’t sure if I was into him and I was like ‘no I definitely am’. I’m often told that I have a bit of a hard exterior and I’m very composed so its quite hard to read me,” Eden said.

“But it feels like were both on the same page ad that gives me a lot of confidence going into the honeymoon.”

After a less than graceful, but wildly romantic first dance, the new MAFS couple act like they’ve know each other for years.

Second kiss for the first dance.

(Image: Nine)

“Without speaking too soon, she’s hopefully the one,” Jayden told the camera crew.

However, a task during confession week may have landed the couple in rocky waters. Jayden, who has openly admitted he was cheated on, confessed secret that completely blindsided her.

“I told her I was willing to give her another chance, but… I’m gonna sleep with her best friend while she watches. One of her friends agreed to do it. SO after a little bit of chatting for a few days, it happened,” he said.

Eden asked her husband if he’d regretted his actions, to which he responded: “I don’t regret it.”

“The story was gross and I didn’t like it all, but he didn’t seem to regret it – that was the concerning part,” she told the crew. Eden felt incredibly ‘triggered’ given her own past and sought comfort from fellow bride Sara. Afterwards, Eden was quick to forgive her husband.

Jayden & Eden have been arguing more.
(Image: Nine)

Through each commitment ceremony, the pair seemed to be the strongest couple of the experiment. But the cracks began to show when Eden was holding in a secret – that Sara had seen her ex-partner whilst lying about her whereabouts to Tim.

Eden admitted she and Jayden had been arguing over the situation. Unwilling to sacrifice her relationship to protect her friendship, they spilled the truth on this seasons cheating scandal.

Ever since, the pair have been struggling as Jayden isn’t afraid of confrontation while Eden is anxious of such uncomfortable discussions. Naturally the pair have been butting heads.

Jayden confessed to the relationship experts that Eden had given him an “ultimatum” to not speak up and reveal he is unsure of who his ‘wife’ really is.

Winning MasterChef Australia was clearly a recipe for success for these reality TV favourites, with the likes of Julie Goodwin, Adam Liaw and co. making all their culinary dreams come true after taking out the cooking competition.

From opening their own restaurants to training with some of the world’s best chefs, these MasterChef Australia winners have not taken their time on the hit show for granted.

Starting with…

Julie Goodwin, Season One (2009)

Julie Goodwin was our inaugural MC winner!

(Image: Network Ten) (Credit: (Ten))

After impressing the judges with her family-style cooking, the mum-of-three quit her IT job to write several cookbooks, become a TV and radio star (including a stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015), and launch her own cooking school.

“None of this would have been possible without MasterChef,” she says.

“To think I won a cooking competition and now work in breakfast radio is wonderful, and I’m really enjoying this new chapter!”

Julie returned to MasterChef in 2012 for All Stars and once more in 2022 for Fans vs Favourites where she finished 5th.

Adam Liaw, Season Two (2010)

Adam gave up a lot before becoming our season two winner.

(Image: Network Ten)

Adam gave up his job as a highly paid lawyer in Tokyo to go on the show… and he’s never looked back!

“I’ve been lucky enough that my series for SBS, Destination Flavour, has been running now for six seasons,” he said in 2018.

“I’ve also written six cookbooks, and I’m really proud of each of them.”

He also married since winning the show, and he and Asami share their kids Christopher, Anna and Benji.

Adam also writes a column for Good Food Australia and Sunday Life Australia and in 2022 joined the ABC panel show Tomorrow Tonight.

In May 2022 he also released a seven part podcast series on Audible called How Taste Changed the World.

Kate Bracks, Season Three (2011)

Kate has utilised her win for the greater good.

(Image: Network Ten)

Kate has travelled the country as an ambassador for the Cancer Council’s Eat It To Beat It program.

“The life experiences have been more rewarding than the prize money,” says the mum-of-three, who’s also bought a hobby farm in Orange, NSW.

“We don’t eat off the land entirely, but the ultimate goal would be to do more of that.”

In 2012 she published a cooking book called The Sweet Life.

She currently works as a teacher.

Andy Allen, Season Four (2012)

Andy has gone from former winner to judge!

(Image: Network Ten)

After taking out top spot, Andy is co-owner of the Three Blue Ducks restaurants and famously returned as one of the show’s judges alongside Jock Zonfrillo and Melissa Leong.

He’s also written his first cookbook, The Next Element and works part-time as a cook at his Sydney café Three Blue Ducks.

In 2018 his restaurant was awarded a Chefs Hat, making Andy the first MasterChef Australia contestant to be awarded the highly sought-after honour.

In 2021, he appeared as a co host in Three Blue Ducks, a cooking show based on travelling across the country to seek inspiration for new dishes for the restaurant.

Emma Dean, Season Five (2013)

The lovely Emma is still gracing our screens!

(Image: Network Ten)

After taking out the coveted title, the former town planner has since published her own cookbook and co-hosted a daily cooking show My Market Kitchen with her 2013 MasterChef runner-up Lynton Tapp from 2013 to 2019.

“I don’t have a restaurant because I am a bit risk adverse,” she says.

“However, the show is really fun and the best part is I get to do it with my best mate!”

She is also a regular contributor to Eat Well Magazine.

Brent Owens, Season Six (2014)

Season six winner Brent has taken his knowledge of food overseas.

(Image: Network Ten)

Since scooping the $250,000 prize money, Brent Owens has travelled the world, trying to make a positive impact with his knowledge of food.

“Being exposed to starvation in foreign countries made me recognise the major flaws in the global food ecosystem,” he says.

Today he is a chief research and development officer at Vitrafy Life Sciences, which he co-founded five years ago.

Billie McKay, Season Seven (2015) & Season 14 (2022)

Billie had her sights set off-shore!

(Image: Network Ten)

Less than a month after winning, Billie moved to England to work at Heston Blumenthal’s Michelin-starred The Fat Duck restaurant.

“Working there was fantastic but it wasn’t what I wanted long-term,” she says, revealing her goal is to open a restaurant.

“At the moment I’m on the family farm making cheese with Mum. I’m still cooking but I don’t want to rush into anything!”

Billie joined fellow former winner Julie on 2022’s Fans vs Favourites season and WON the title for a second time around!

Talk about impressive!

Elena Duggan, Season Eight (2016)

Elena is a big advocate for special needs students.

(Image: Network Ten)

While she dreamed of opening a farm cafe after her win, educator Elena decided to continue her work with special needs students, teaching them leadership, hospitality skills and home economics.

“To know I’m giving something to people who are going to be our future leaders, and giving them strength, confidence and life skills to help them move forward, that’s been the biggest highlight,” she says.

Elena has continued to cook, showcasing her recipe creations on her social media pages.

Diana Chan, Season Nine (2017)

2017’s winner has found success in Australia’s foodie hot spot.

(Image: Network Ten)

After winning by a single point, Diana used her prize money to open a pop-up restaurant in Melbourne, Chanteen.

“It serves authentic Malaysian street food, it’s reasonably priced and everything is cooked to order,” said Diana, who’s also designed in-flight menus for Malaysia Airlines.

“I never thought the day would come that I’d fly to London and eat my own food on the flight!” she laughed.

She hosts the Turning Point podcast about her success journey and helping others find theirs. Diana also owns pre-made dumplings and dim sims brand Golden Wok.

In 2018 Asia Unplated with Diana Chan was also launched on SBS Demand.

Sashi Cheliah, Season 10 (2018)

Sashi is enjoying his newfound fame.

(Image: Network Ten)

After taking out the 2018 title, Sashi has been “living the dream”.

He travelled to India where he spoke to The Telegraph, the then 40-year-old said he had been given “lots of offers”.

“In the short-term, I am keeping things fluid. Since winning MasterChef, I have got a lot of offers. I am trying out whatever I like,” he said.

Upon returning, he opened a series of pop-up restaurants called GAJA by Sashi. He eventually settled down in Adelaide and opened a full-time GAJA along with an express version.

Sashi also launched home chef kits called Sashi’s Secret, and he revealed to The Advertiser his plans to open a fine-dining restaurant, The Pandan Club, in India this coming June.

He also joined Julie and Billie for the Fans and Favourites spin-off – placing in 19th place.

Larissa Takchi, Season 11 (2019)

Larissa is helping out at the family cafe.

(Image: Network Ten)

At 22-years-old, Larissa became the youngest ever winner of MasterChef Australia in 2019 and was something of a dessert queen.

But the budding chef decided to keep things close to home by helping out at her family’s cafe, Wildpear in the north west Sydney suburb of Dural.

Larissa is now married to husband Luke and they have welcomed their first child into the world.

Emelia Jackson, Season 12 (2020)

Emelia was the All Stars champ.

(Image: Network Ten)

Emelia took out the toughest season of MasterChef to date in Back To Win, an All-Stars edition of the series.

After placing third in season six in 2014, Emelia returned and beat out bestie Laura Sharrad and dessert king Reynold Poernomo for top prize.

Despite the huge win, Emelia kept her celebration small, mostly thanks to Melbourne’s strict second wave lockdown.

“I’m in Melbourne so it was just me and my boyfriend Craig and then we had my family on Zoom,” she told Now To Love.

“I planned a viewing party, but we’re in lockdown again, so I had to cancel it. It was what it was, but it was still so exciting.”

Since her win, she has welcomed a daughter called Addie, and she has become an ambassador for Queen Fine Foods.

Justin Narayan, Season 13 (2021)

Justin cooked his way to victory in 2021.

(Image: Network Ten)

He was a fan favourite early on and Justin Narayan cooked his way to victory in 2021, beating runners-up Pete Campbell and Kishwar Chowdhury.

To make matters even sweeter, not long after his win Justin tied the knot with his fiancée Esther in a stunning ceremony that was also attended by several of his MasterChef co-stars.

“It was genuinely the best day of my life; winning MasterChef was awesome but getting married was a huge highlight – it’s been a crazy year, so who knows what’s next,” Justin told TV WEEK.

Since his victory, he has been busy creating digital recipe content for his social media accounts to share with his followers.

Nick Riewoldt, Celebrity MasterChef (2021)

The former AFL player wowed the judges and Australia.

Special mentions to the winner of Celebrity MasterChef 2021, former AFL player Nick Riewoldt.

The athlete was able to give the $100,000 cash prize to his charity, Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, which he co-founded after the tragic passing of his sister Maddie in 2015.

Brent Draper, Season 15 (2023)

The dad cooked up a storm to win the 2023 season.

Brent Draper originally appeared on MasterChef in 2021, but left the competition to focus on his mental health. Completing the ultimate comeback, Brent took out the title and $250,000 cash prize in the 2023 season!

Just weeks after winning the competition, Brent reveal he capped off an amazing year with the arrival of his second child, a baby boy named Bowie!

Since then, he has continued cooking and documenting his creations, and has also started a podcast with his wife called Behind The Drapes.

On-screen, MasterChef plays out like a dramatic battle of man vs. oven vs. clock vs. a dozen other talented foodies – keeping up?

Well, you mightn’t need to try, because in a big revelation, it turns out there’s quite a different story happening behind the scenes.

Keep scrolling as we find out what really goes on when the producers call “cut!”… and it’s juicy!

Dishwashing

ONE MAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CLEAN-UP

Dishwasher Leigh Dowling is one of over 200 crew that make the MasterChef dream a reality.

“Leigh washes everything you see,” executive producer Margaret Bashfield reveals.

“He’s the happiest bloke on the team, even when he gets pots that are horribly burnt on the bottom.”

Clock

WHAT REALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CLOCK STOPS?

They keep on filming!

While a challenge might only last 60 minutes, an average filming day is much longer. After the judges’ taste-test and the verdict is delivered, contenders sometimes head home after spending 12 hours of their day filming.

Former contestant Lynton Tapp previously told Mamamia that filming days were ”some of the longest days you’ll ever experience because of the logistics involved.”

Fellow MasterChef alumni Mindy Woods told Refinery29 in 2022 that it the show ”wasn’t quick to shoot.”

”When you look at the production itself, you might have a one hour or two hour cook and sometimes pressure tests which are obviously much longer than that.

”But we will be on set at 7 o’clock in the morning, we’ll do a lot of walk ups [from the car] that are done time and time again to get the different angles and different expressions. Then we go onto set and we’ll finally do the cook, which will last maybe two hours.

”We can be on set anywhere from like eight to 14 or 15 hours. They’re huge days of filming.”

Relaxed the rules

THEY’VE RELAXED THE RULES

The harsh “MasterChef bubble” that contestants are in while on the show is no longer as tough as it once was.

“The worst case scenario is two 10-minute phone calls home a week, but there are exceptions.”

“There’s also outings and contenders were allowed to leave the house more this year to go down the street because we’d finished filming before the show went to air,” explains Margaret.

They also have access to social media as the show’s filming schedule allows for “everyone to be involved”.

Doggie bags

DOGGIE BAGS ARE ENCOURAGED

While most of the cooked food is eaten by the judges, and the contestants often have a nibble as well, sometimes there are leftovers and the lucky contenders are encouraged to take it home!

In a recent interview with New Zealand publication Stuff, former judge Melissa Leong admitted that despite being delicious, she never went back for more than one bite of each meal.

”Sometimes when something is especially tasty it is very difficult not to go back for a second, third or fourth bite,” she admitted, ”but part of the job is excercising restraint.”

”I’m not going to lie,” Leong said, ”there are definitely days where I do not need to have dinner or lunch because I do most of my eating on camera.”

Given this, it comes as no surprise that contestants and even production crew get to take home leftovers!

Auditions

AUDITION FAILS GET THROUGH!

While the audition process for MasterChef is lengthy, Margaret reveals that many contenders in past seasons didn’t even pass their first cook!

“A lot didn’t cook brilliantly in their audition, but we saw that they knew how to cook, and when we talked to them about what was supposed to happen, they could talk to us about it and explain why it didn’t.”

Matt Preston

MATT WAS A FASHION DIVA

The man behind the cravat’s fashion sense had tried to be tamed over the years, but in 2018 former judge Matt Preston was given full reign over his wardrobe.

“God help you if you try and get between Matt and his wardrobe,” shared Margaret.

“We have a bit of fun about whether his outfit is appropriate, but in the end it’s all him, no-one can direct him… I almost fall off my chair with some of the things he comes out in.”

Farmer Wants A Wife has only just kicked off its 2024 season, and already fans are convinced they know who will win their farmers hearts in the finale.

Guided by host Samantha Armytage, viewers follow the journey of Farmer Bert, Dustin, Joe, Tom and Dean as they attempt to find their wife among their contestants.

Sarah has been predicted to steal Joe’s heart.

Fans have taken to popular betting platform, Sportsbet to place their predictions on who which contestant will be chosen by their farmer or if the farmer will leave the reality tv series single.

The website has correctly guessed the winner of reality television competitions in the past, so don’t disregard the odds just yet. While only time will tell as to who will officially win on FWAW, we will be keeping a watchful eye on Sportsbet.

Farmer Joe has a keen winner according to fans with Sarah taking the lead with odds currently at 1.40. Meanwhile, Claire in second place has odds of 4.00 and third place with odds sitting at 5.00 is Keely.

Teegan (left), Sarah C (middle), Sophie (right).
(Image: Seven)

Viewers don’t have high hopes for Farmer Bert as odds predict he will leave the show without a relationship. Close behind single hood is Caitlin with odds of 3.00, and Lauren in third with 4.33 odds.

Next up, fans predict Farmer Dustin will most likely leave with Sophie with odds of 1.37. In second place for the crop farmer is Anna at 3.60 odds, rounding out third place is the likelihood that he will leave single.

Farmer Dean has been predicted to leave the series with Teegan whose odds sit at 1.53, and close behind with 2.75 odds is Bella. However, like Dustin, Dean’s third most likely result is leaving single in the finale.

Lastly, sitting in first place for Farmer Tom’s heart is Sarah C at odds of 1.53, meanwhile, Kristy is ranked second with odds 3.50. Similar to the two farmers before him, fans predict Tom will leave the series without a relationship.

In 2023, all five farmers found love and Channel Seven didn’t miss the opportunity to use this romantic success as a key selling point. In the current season, this has not been repeated – could some farmers be walking away from the series single?

The post Wedding bliss turned sour fast for first Married At First Sight Australia 2024 couple, Sara & Tim appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Sara and Tim were the first couple to be matched on Married At First Sight Australia 2024.

In the beginning, their relationship seemed picture perfect as they ticked off all the boxes. But sadly, they have not survived outside of the MAFS experiment as Sara casually announces she is single during a TikTok video with co-star Tristan.

The friends were participating in a trend when Sara revealed, “We’re on MAFS, of course were still single.”

However, this comes as no surprise as fans hopes for Sara and Tim fizzled mid-experiment when the groom was spotted kissing a mystery brunette which was undeniably not his MAFS bride.

With Sara seemingly confirming their split, TV WEEK looks back at their rollercoaster MAFS journey.

Tim swept South American-born Sara off her feet by greeting her in Spanish at their wedding ceremony. His attempts to woo her was wildly successful, as little did he know, she was from Colombia born in Medellin – where he temporarily lived.

“You’ve just taken like everything I’ve said and been like ‘here you go this is your person’,” Sara laughed. “The experts nailed it.”

Sara and Tim were the first MAFS couple.

(Image: Nine)

As these two strangers dug more into each other’s lives, Sara discovered some dirt on her new husband. Tim confessed his ex-partner had cheated on him, while Sara empathized with this given her own experience, the issue was that Tim and his ex-girlfriend had broken up only six months before the experiment.

But with the information that was leaked later on in the season, was Sara reflecting her own insecurities?

Cue one more nail in their coffin – Tim’s “rogue” best man.

“Tim is a man of science, he’s quite fond of experimentation. Experiment 551, romance at high speed,” the best man began, followed by a crude speech. He later joked that Sara was “experiment number 865.”

(Image: Nine)

It was a rocky start to their MAFS relationship, but that initial spark began to reignite. However, Tim’s trust issues came into play during Confessions Week when Sara refused to swap mobile phones.

“I haven’t given you a reason not to trust me. So, what’s the point?” she said. “It’s invasive.”

Despite his concerns, Tim decided to trust his new wife.

“I don’t fully trust Sara at the moment. But I’m taking her word at face value and yeah, I’m trying to be a good husband. But maybe she’s chatting to other guys… Definitely raised some question marks,” he told the camera crew.

It was this exact moment Tim reflected on when he discovered his wife secretly met up with her ex-partner.

In an explosive dinner party, Eden revealed Sara had met with her ex – who she had an “on-and-off” relationship with for six years – and had lied to Tim regarding her whereabouts. While this ‘cheating scandal’ erupted, Tim slipped that Sara had been with her ex a month before the experiment.

“When I found out, it was heartbreaking,” Tim told TV WEEK. “If you slow-motion the conversation, you can pinpoint the exact moment my heart shatters.”

Heartbroken and feeling betrayed, Tim was forced to stay in the experiment for another week. But in an unexpected twist, he wanted to work on rebuilding their relationship.

“A week ago, there was no way I’d be in the same room. Now, I’m defending my relationship with her – it was very challenging,” he revealed.

“They’d seen how she’d been treating me and didn’t understand how we were going to move forward,” he says, adding that some tell-tale signs have made him doubt Sara.

“I don’t think I’ll ever know the full truth,” he says. “But I do think the weekend with her ex was premeditated, and why she was reluctant to show me her phone.”

Over time – and some heated discussions – the pair worked through Sara’s “emotional” cheating scandal and built the foundations of a strong relationship. All preparing for final vows.

(Image: Nine)

“Seeing you hurt made me realise what I had in front of me and what I could be loosing,” Sara said in her final vows. “I wanted to fight for us and I’m so glad you gave us that chance. The struggles we went through surprisingly brought us closer together.

“You had my back and I remember thinking the experts matched us for a reason and I can see why they chose you for me…. Tim, I falling more and more for you each day. I am so excited to see what our future can hold together.”

However, it wasn’t such a simple choice for Tim – battling between their good and bad times.

“Last week, it seems like it’s been a battle between my head and my heart. But, it’s an easy decision if I go with my heart and how I’ve been feeling about you for these last few weeks,” he said. “Of course it’s still a bit of a risk and we’ve got work to do. But there’s no one else I’d rather take that risk than with you.”

Despite his decision to stay, meddling Jonathan revealed “Tim kinda wishes he left Sara at the final vows.”

(Image: Nine)

“You don’t think you deserve better than Sara? We all f—— think so,” Jono said to Tim during the MAFS 2024 reunion. “Why are you mad at me?”

Sara was enraged and embarrassed after she was gushing about their relationship mere minutes before.

“You make things seem like its so wishy washy,” Sara said. “You do it all the time! And if you don’t want to be in this relationship then don’t f—— be in it.”

There are a bunch of stunning women and five handsome farmers looking for love on 2024’s new season of Farmer Wants A Wife, but one of the other beautiful standout characters on the reality TV program is the stunning property that serves as the base for the show’s meet and greets.

It’s the place where the contestants first meet their respective farmers – and each other – and it’s where they reconvene throughout the season.

There is a beautiful long driveway leading into the property.

(Image: Instagram)

That jaw-dropping location is The Convent in the Hunter Valley, in New South Wales.

The sprawling boutique hotel, which is a hugely popular wedding venue, has a “European luxe meets Hamptons Long Island vibe” and features hotel accommodation and several high end restaurants, set amongst beautifully manicured gardens and vineyard.

There is also a private retreat on site with a private tennis court and a pool.

The blue and white paint has a distinct Hamptons vibe.

(Image: Instagram)

This is where the contestants first meet their farmers.

(Image: Instagram)

The property features gorgeous traditional architecture, with French doors and windows, a sprawling driveway and old school interior details including chandelier lights and antique furniture.

The venue is also used for conferences and events, with many large open spaces available for use.

But as FWAW fans know, this isn’t the only filming location appearing throughout the season. After the farmers decide which contestants they would like to further a connection with, the girls are welcomed to the farmers actual farm.

Five farmers means five different filming locations – Farmer Dustin resides in Condobolin, NSW; Farmer Bert lives in Wamuran, QLD; Farmer Joe lives in Bombala, NSW; Farmer Tim is located in Tabilk, VIC; and Farmer Dean who lives in Kandanga, QLD.

Why Denise Drysdale really left the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/denise-drysdale-im-a-celebrity-get-me-out-of-here-australia-2024/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509902 Conspiracies abound about dramas playing out off-camera.

The post Why Denise Drysdale really left the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
She’s Australia’s sweetheart, so fans were delighted when beloved straight shooter Denise Drysdale headed into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

But joy quickly turned to dismay when, days later, the 75-year-old was eliminated, leaving some viewers fuming that the competition is rigged!

“Disappointment for the viewers!” wrote one sad fan.

“They get a big name in for a week who does nothing and they are the first to go. It’s called ratings,” blasted another online.

“She could have at least acted surprised,” someone else speculated.

In her exit interview from the show, the national treasure herself however, claimed, “You can’t pre-empt what’s going to happen. You walk in, you do it, it’s different and everybody’s in the same boat. It’s such an experience and I’m glad I’ve done it, but I’m so bloody glad I’m out!”

Denise says she’s “thrilled” to be out after her blink-and-you’d-miss-it appearance. (Image: Channel 10)

PLAYING NICE FOR THE CAMERAS!

And according to a TV insider, so were the show’s producers!

“They were on tenterhooks with those two big personalities [Denise and host Julia Morris]. There is a lot of pressure on the current new-look season to not court any negative headlines like series gone by, so they made sure Julia and Denise saved face – at least for the cameras,” says the source.

While the pair only briefly worked together during the mid-’90s on a Nine reboot of variety show In Melbourne Tonight, rumour has it there was no love lost when the pair went their separate ways.

Of course, Denise tells it how she sees it – and that’s why so many people love her!

But the source reveals her honesty grated on Julia, 55.

“It was a personality clash from day one and the crew would feel really uncomfortable each week as they tried to out-do each other,” says the insider.

“Denise reportedly felt she could be a ‘big sister’ figure to Julia, who was just starting out in her entertainment career. However, Julia was determined to run her own race.”

Denise has been quick to deny reports that she and Julia have been locked in a secret feud for decades. (Image: Getty)

The source alleges that their similar “big, over-the-top” comedic style made for a clash on air.

Denise has been quick to deny reports that she and Julia have been locked in a secret feud for decades, calling the rumours “total bull cr*p”.

“I really don’t know where it came from… Let’s just dwell on the positives… I admire her because she went overseas and did all these courses and I think she went and did improv and all those things.

She was really serious about her career and I admired that, it’s something I never did,” she added of her former co-star.

“I think she’s terrific. I think Robert [Irwin] with her on the show, they just blend and it’s fabulous.”

Either way, there will be no further scramble for TV producers, as it seems Denise’s short-lived stint on reality TV is now over for good!

“I don’t want to do Survivor, I don’t want to be like Bear Grylls, I don’t want to be dropped in the middle of the ocean and have to swim to the shore. I don’t want to do anything now,” says the star. “I’ve got a lovely life, beautiful kids, grandchildren and a dog and a cat that loves me.”

FWAW 2024: As tensions rise between the girls, Bert does his best to calm the farm https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/farmer-wants-a-wife-2024-bert-favourite-contestant/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509922 ‘I don’t want drama.'

The post FWAW 2024: As tensions rise between the girls, Bert does his best to calm the farm appeared first on Now To Love.

Farmer Bert isn’t a fan of drama, but that’s exactly what he’s getting on his farm. Can he put an end to it by sending someone home?

In Farmer Wants A Wife this week, each of the five farmers chooses one girl to take back to his farm to spend the first 24 hours with. Bert says he didn’t “overly” have a frontrunner at that point.

“Karli, for sure, caught my eye,” he tells TV WEEK, “but Caitlin and I had some great banter.”

After Bert, 30, takes his chosen girl back to Wamuran, Queensland, sparks fly.

“That was a pretty romantic date,” he remembers with a laugh.

But when the other girls arrive, the battle for Bert’s attention becomes fierce. April volunteers to help Bert demonstrate how to treat a snakebite, saying she’ll do “anything” to stand out.

Tensions rise, with one girl describing another as a “crazy stage-five clinger”. At the dinner where Bert has to choose which potential wife to send home, several girls take him outside for a private chat, with one suggesting that one of the others might not be there for the right reasons.

“I didn’t want to spend the rest of the time having the same drama between people,” Bert explains, “so it definitely impacted my decision.”

But the drama isn’t over. As the five farmers and their remaining girls meet up at a country show, a woman walks up to the group.

“My heart dropped for a little bit there,” Bert reveals.

Who is she?

EXCLUSIVE: Farmer Andrew & Jess say ‘I do’ at a perfect country garden party https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/farmer-wants-a-wife-andrew-jess-wedding-photos/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509939 'We're still on cloud 9'.

The post EXCLUSIVE: Farmer Andrew & Jess say ‘I do’ at a perfect country garden party appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Even an unsuspecting bridesmaid nearly falling into a lake mid-vows couldn’t dampen the joy of fan favourites Andrew Guthrie and Jess Nathan, who wed on March 16 after meeting on Aussie dating show Farmer Wants A Wife in 2021.

“We were just really excited, and so we told ourselves if anything went pear-shaped, we’d just keep our sense of humour about it all,” says Jess, 30, of the couple’s big day at Mimosa Wines near Bermagui on the NSW South Coast.

The pair planned their wedding in six months. (Image: Ben Symons)

BEAUTIFUL BUT CHAOTIC

“I wore a six-metre-long veil,” the bubbly bride tells Woman’s Day. “It wasn’t coping when a breeze picked up during my vows and was basically wrapping around Andrew and my bridesmaids. One of
them, Emma, grabbed it and tried to pull it back. We got married on a pier over a small lake, so she almost fell in, then I almost fell back into the water as well, so, in the end, I just stepped to the side
and took my veil off.

“One of our family members described the ceremony as “emotional, beautiful and chaotic,” Jess adds with a laugh.

“It was very us – it was perfect! We’re still on cloud nine!”

The brief for the day was a formal country garden party, and in a sweet touch, the bridesmaids’ dresses were Jess’ something blue! The reality star wore a gown from Jane Hill Bridal in Melbourne, with an A-line skirt and delicate beading, a low-back and thigh-high slit, and long sheer sleeves with pearl closures at the wrist and down the back.

“We both wrote our own vows,” shares Andrew. (Image: Ben Symons)

“It was the dress of my dreams,” says Jess, whose favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle, which was studded with long-stemmed white roses, with her father Geoff.

“My dad is one of my favourite people in the world – he’s just an absolute legend – so that was really beautiful,” she says.

“And obviously seeing Andrew at the end of the aisle!”

Her groom’s highlight was saying his vows in front of their 145 guests.

“It was when I got the most emotional,” he reveals. “Neither of us had heard them. I got a little bit teary.”

“We were incredibly lucky with the weather too,” Andrew, 34, adds.

“The two days before, it just rained so much. It was a beautiful day on our wedding and then the day after, it rained again. We didn’t really have an option for wet weather, so we were a bit nervous!”

Jess had her five childhood best friends by her side. (Image: Ben Symons)

The couple opted to skip a traditional wedding cake – serving a three-course menu and canapes instead.

“We wanted to have a really bougie canape hour, so we had really beautiful nibbles – like Peking duck and lamb koftas – and had our favourite drinks, which were spicy margaritas and limoncello spritz,” shares Jess. “Everyone got stuck in!”

When the couple chatted with Woman’s Day last year to celebrate their engagement, they shared that they would start trying for a family on their honeymoon. So, is that still the plan?

“We’ve been practising,” laughs Jess.

“We’re not trying for a baby just yet. We’re really enjoying the time of ‘just us’ and I do think babies won’t be too far off, but we’re not quite there just yet. We’ll wait another couple of months and then see where we are.”

They already have a list of baby names, and a lot of their friends have just started families. “It’s all happening,” laughs Andrew.

The couple, who share a home in Delegate, NSW, plan to watch this season of Farmer Wants A Wife, especially as one of Andrew’s groomsmen, Joey Bobbin, is looking for love on the show.

“We’ll be rooting for Joey,” says Jess.

MARRIAGE MADE IN TV

“He’s a bit of a character,” says Andrew.

“It will be interesting to see how it all plays out for him.”

“He saw that it can work from watching Jess and I,” adds Andrew, who thinks the show’s high success rate at matching couples is because “it gives people in rural areas a chance to meet people they wouldn’t have. There’s no way Jess and I would have ever crossed paths had we not gone on the show.

“I know Jess took a lot of convincing to do the show and a friend of mine signed me up as a joke… it’s not really the way any of us ever imagined we’d be meeting each other, but it worked out in the end.”

See more of Jess and Andrew’s wedding this season on Farmer Wants A Wife, Sun, 7pm, & Mon-Tues, 7.30pm, Seven & 7plus.

“It was just such a vibe. We couldn’t fault a thing,” says Jess. (Image: Ben Symons)

Hamish Blake Takes TV WEEK on a fun tour of the set of LEGO Masters Australia https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/lego-masters-australia-hamish-blake-2024/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509942 The joker and the thief.

The post Hamish Blake Takes TV WEEK on a fun tour of the set of LEGO Masters Australia appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Clowning around on the set of LEGO Masters Australia Vs The World with host Hamish Blake is everything you would expect it to be. He encourages TV WEEK to steal LEGO bricks as mementos while jokingly claiming the show is rigged.

“We’ve got four Aussie teams versus four internationals,” Hamish, 42, explains about the latest season. “So already we have the advantage. It’s our show, so we’re obviously going to stack the deck for Australia.”

(Image: Supplied)

The four local teams will compete against LEGO Masters winners from France, Germany, the US and Denmark for $100,000 and world domination.

Although the show is entering its sixth season, the two-time TV WEEK Gold Logie winner says he hasn’t run out of ideas to keep the challenges and builds entertaining, but admits legalities sometimes get in the way of his more outlandish proposals.

“We wanted to get these gel blasters that fire 8mm balls that disintegrate – they’re like nerf weapons. They’re super-fun, but because they look like guns, they’re illegal in New South Wales,” he says, before contemplating moving the set to Queensland, where they’re legal. “Imagine trying to concentrate while those are being shot around your LEGO build.”

(Image: Supplied)

Hamish also enjoys playful banter with right-hand man and LEGO expert Ryan “Brickman” McNaught, but, as fathers, the pair could also sympathise with the international teams spending time away from their families.

“Everyone except the Germans are parents,” Hamish explains. “We were talking with Camille on the French team, who is doing the show with his sister. He has a high-pressure job as a psychiatrist, his wife is a pediatrician, they have kids, so to spend a few weeks in Australia was a lot. But [his family] pushed him, and said, ‘This is a great opportunity, you love LEGO, we’ll manage,’ and now he’s here and he’s on cloud nine.”

LEGO Masters now has 16 versions across the globe, and having four overseas teams in the mix raises both the calibre of the contest and the stakes – particularly for the Aussies.

“The international teams are coming in with experience, but our Aussie teams are new to the show,” Hamish says. “We sort of figured because Australia is many seasons ahead of the rest of the world, we might have an advantage, while a lot of the others are on their first or second [season]. It’s well known that Australia is the hardest and the leading edge [version] of the franchise.”

Hamish is no stranger to creating high-quality, trend-setting content, with popular parenting podcast How Other Dads Dad and the long-running The Hamish And Andy Show. So it’s not surprising LEGO Masters has been so successful, but that isn’t what he’s most proud of.

“It’s not about how many people listen or [the number of] views you get,” the father-of-two says. “In terms of [How Other Dads Dad], for example, what I’m most proud of are the guests who have come on who are super-generous and heartfelt with their stories. If you get a hundred of dads or mums listening and it means something to them, that’s more successful to me than a million downloads.”

Although Hamish’s recent relocation to Sydney with his family means he and bestie Andy Lee have been physically separated, that hasn’t affected their friendship or podcast.

(Image: Getty)

“It’s our own little world and anything can happen in there that we don’t have to run past anyone,” Hamish says.

As for whether Hamish will be watching LEGO Masters back with his wife, Zoë Foster Blake, and their kids – Sonny, nine, and Rudy, six – he jokes, “I don’t even watch myself back, so I’m not making the kids watch me.”

Seven couples were cut from the MAFS 2024 finale https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/married-at-first-sight-australia-2024-finale/ Tue, 09 Apr 2024 00:28:22 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509465 But why?

The post Seven couples were cut from the MAFS 2024 finale appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
It was an explosive end to the 2024 season of Married At First Sight Australia, with feuds arising with people we didn’t expect, a sudden walk-out and love admissions.

Facing the relationship experts for the final time were five couples – Lauren and Jonathan; Sara and Tim; Jayden and Eden; Tori and Jack; and finally Timothy and Lucinda.

Everyone was at the finale but one.
(Image: Nine)

But what about the seven other couples that entered the experiment? They were sitting on the couch with the other participants yet didn’t have their solo couple time with the experts.

The missing couples included Ellie and Ben; Natalie and Collins; Cassandra and Tristan; Stephen and Michael; Madeleine and Ash; Andrea and Richard; and lastly lovebirds Jade and Ridge.

While not all of these participants were overlooked in the finale, with some getting a few words in – including Tristan sending all the love to ‘papa’ Timothy, plus Cassanda and Michael debating with Sara and of course Ellie getting involved with Lauren and Jono’s time on the couch with the odd inclusion from Ben.

Jayden and Eden are still sweet on each other.
(Image: Nine)

Andrea and Richard were lining up to be one of the more successful relationships on MAFS before their communication issues brought the relationship to a fiery end. But they were captured sitting next to each other on the couch.

We could come to the conclusion that only couples who made it to final vows sat on the couch with the experts, but what about fan-favourites Jade and Ridge?

Perhaps as the 2024 participants slowly regain access to their social media accounts, they’ll reveal the truth as to what was cut from the reunion and finale. But now, fans will have to be patient.

Every MAFS 2024 participant was present for the reunion and final episode, aside from former Home and Away actress Madeleine Jevic.

According to a show insider, the producers decided not to invite Madeleine due to her “unpredictability.”

“Most people in production thought that Madeleine struggled with the pressures of the experiment during filming, so it felt easier not to bring her back – especially for a dinner party that was inevitably going to be an intense one from the start,” a source told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Timothy has been dubbed ‘the tin man’ by his friends, but can his Married At First Sight Australia 2024 pairing Lucinda find his heart?

Lucinda, a humble and spiritual soul, is a 43-year-old Byron Bay-based wedding celebrant looking for love. While most contestants entering the MAFS experiment may be fearful of ‘marrying’ a stranger, her biggest fear, hilariously, was sharing a toilet.

“This day has just been full on.”

(Image: Nine)

Meanwhile, groom Timothy is a 51-year-old down-to-earth business owner from Melbourne, looking for someone to be vulnerable with. But in order to do so, Timothy may have to step out of his comfort zone.

“If she’s up meditating, we’ve got a real problem on our hands,” Timothy told the crew, blissfully unaware that he had been paired with someone who loves to meditate…

“Because I’ve dated a meditating person in the morning, and you’ve got to walk around very quiet, and it drives me nuts. Peace and quiet.”

The wedding ceremony was off to a rocky start, at least for Timothy who quickly discovered her “spiritual energy” when Lucinda invited a guest to “bless” the relationship.

As if nature was on Timothy’s side, a massive storm suddenly appeared to dramatically halt the wedding. But with the ceremony done, came the “awkward” photoshoot.

“This day has just been full on. We’ve had spiritualism, the chicken wing, the smoke, and now you’re making out with somebody with 20 people watching. That’s just uncomfortable” Timothy said.

Meanwhile, Lucinda had different feelings: “It feels really comfortable to be intimate and close with Timothy. I think he’s sexy. It feels so good, like genuinely.”

But there was a turning point, when Lucinda uttered the dread words: “where is your family?”

Timothy opened up to his new wife, confessing, “they’re all dead.”

“I had a brother, died. Mum died, young. Its tough. Dad went five weeks ago.”

Timothy gave a speech to his guests, discussing why he had no family members at the wedding.

(Image: Nine)

Noticing how Lucinda took on the details of his tragedy, Timothy admired her caring and kind nature. However, he quickly became overwhelmed following their official move in date. And as a result, their physical intimacy paid the price.

With their relationship seemingly stagnant, Timothy began to question the authenticity of the other couples in the experiment, particularly Tori and Jack

“There’s no problem with having an opinion. I sit there and I’ve got an opinion on everything, that’s my right and that’s my duty,” he told the camera crew. “Suck it up princess, if you don’t like it go somewhere else.”

With a fight brewing around the dinner party, Lucinda admitted she felt “humiliated.”

“People throwing back and forth ‘are you attracted to your wife’ and ‘how about the 23 year old’ and I just wanted to hide in my little shell. I was quite uncomfortable with all of it,” she said.

Timothy’s walls came down during Retreat Week.
(Image: Nine)

Their relationship seemed to arrive at a stalemate, particularly after Timothy felt Lucinda threw him “under the bus” for questioning his intentions despite a good week. However, Timothy’s walls came crashing down to Retreat Week, showing a completely different side to the groom.

During the dinner party, the pair did the unthinkable… Timothy and Lucinda kissed for the first time!

Absolutely everyone, including Lucinda was “shocked” by the display of affection. But the mood suddenly dimmed with Timothy left the table a few minutes later. In tears, Timothy revealed he has “never been in this position.”

“I came onto this to meet somebody, to find love, and sitting at the table and I realised that this whole time I’ve been wasting time just being angry and closed off. I judge everybody else but I’m the most broken out of everybody,” he admitted.

“I’m 51 years old and I’ve never really left anyone in. I feel like I’ve wasted those years. I wish I came into this with a more open heart, ready to be matched with a person like Lucinda. She always looks for the best in people, she’s always looked for the best in me. She’s a rock, there’s no question.”

“Just being around Lucinda, I can see maybe there’s a better way to live.”

Despite this progress, a trip to his hometown sees those walls shoot straight back up.

“I was disappointed that in Melbourne he went back to not wanting to express his feelings and emotions,” Lucinda revealed to TV WEEK. “It became really obvious just how differently we communicated – I was defeated.”

When visiting Timothy’s “bachelor pad”, Lucinda revealed she felt “uncomfortable” and “unwelcome”. While confessing her feelings, Timothy blows up when he can’t handle the criticism.

“I was holding to my standards,” Lucinda explained. “I wasn’t happy about being screwed around. It’s a fine line of making space for Tim’s experience, having a crush on him, and wanting to give it a go – but also having my own self-respect and just saying, ‘Hey, I’m not happy about how this is going.’

“I was upset and that conversation pushed him over the edge.”

Although they decided to leave the experiment, they gained something much more valuable than a romantic connection – a friendship.

Timothy’s walls are back up!
(Image: Nine)

During an interview in early March, Timothy let slip that the pair still hang out together, whether this is in a romantic capacity remains unknown.

“We were out last night,” he told Star 104.5’s Gina and Matty at the time. “It’s amazing when we go to random pubs in the middle of nowhere. How many people actually love Lu. She’s just one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. “

And in the very final episode of MAFS 2024, Timothy revealed he still calls Lucinda when he has “emotional” problems.

“Its okay not to be okay and Lu showed me that – just softened me a little be,” he said. “I wouldn’t have want to do the experiment with anyone else.”

Lucinda – fighting off the tears – also showed her love for Timothy.

“I feel quiet emotional. I see Tim – the pain and the struggle and the deep loss. What I love about Tim is he just sees the world smile and laugh around despite all of his loss. I just respect him so much. Everybody he meets, he finds a common ground. Once he loves you, you’re there. He’s actually got a ginormous heart,” she said.

Relationship expert John Aiken is still holding out hope that a potential spark could ignite here…

The post All the feuds on Married At First Sight Australia 2024 appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Married At First Sight Australia is the show that will never stop coming, and while its purpose is to find love for its participants, most of the time always they find is drama.

Love and hate is a fine line. With the MAFS participants constantly being pushed outside of their comfort zones, feuds are bound to begin.

Married At First Sight Australia 2024 sara
So many MAFS arguments!
(Image: Nine)

The arguments began early with the 2024 brides and grooms, hooking fans from the very beginning. But with so many people yelling at one another each and every dinner party, it can be difficult to remember who is feuding with who. Now the participants are in the outside world, they are somewhat free to say how they truly feel…

We’ve kept track of who is feuding on Married At First Sight Australia 2024, continue scrolling for the summary.

SARA & CASSANDRA

When we saw Cassandra pipe up during the promo for the final ceremony, it was anyone’s guess as to who she was calling “weak.” To our surprise, she was calling out Sara while talking about her relationship with Tim.

“Everything out of mouth is a lie. She lies to make herself look better, there’s nothing honest about her. You’ve just been playing games,” Cassandra said.

Sara claimed to have “never spoken a word” to her throughout the entire experiment and if Cassandra had ever asked her any personal questions, Cassandra responded: “I don’t want to get to know you, trust me I’ve seen enough.”

After Sara’s cheating scandal erupted, Cassandra shared her thoughts to the camera crew – overall, it wasn’t positive. Was this the reason why Cassandra voiced her opinions during the final episode, or is there something more?

Michael and Ellie both shared Cassandra’s sentiment as the former expressed, “the character that you’ve displayed though, that’s why” and the latter saying “here here.”

Yikes!

EDEN & JAYDEN & LAUREN

While this tiff didn’t happen on screen, an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail Australia revealed Eden wasn’t impressed with her ‘grooms’ night out with Lauren.

Lauren and Jayden enjoyed at night out at the club – with the kickboxer taking off his shirt, a night which Eden considers “disrespectful.”

“I think both of their behaviour on that night was quite disrespectful of me,” she said. “It felt almost a little bit intentional from Lauren’s half to hurt my feelings, and maybe Jayden as well.”

“I think that the second that I wasn’t there for her to be all over him and there’s a clip where she grabs his hand and puts it on her chest and stuff like that.”

Eden then revealed she is a “a little bit embarrassed” by their “inappropriate” actions. Meanwhile, Lauren shrugged off the statements recalling the night which ended with her in an Uber and a “cheeseburger.”

Lauren denied the speculation that she was “making a move on Jayden.”

“Not Jayden, the kid’s about six years younger than me, and he’s just, he’s not for me. And he’s with Eden, apparently,” she said.

SARA & MICHAEL

It was an emotion driven and unexpected argument between Sara and Michael. The groom was hurt after catching his husband “flirting with the hairdresser” and accused Stephen of “emotional cheating.”

After Cassandra pointed out that physical sparks are fleeting, Sara addressed that Stephen had been trying for three weeks when Michael interrupted.

“You have not been behind our doors. He has not tried for three weeks,” he said. “You worry about your own relationship.”

To which Sara advised he stopped “lashing out” at people.

“No because your making no sense to me because your shallow. You shut up right now your getting on my nerves,” he said.

While this feud seemed like an outburst, its unclear if this is disagreement will continue throughout the season.

TORI & CASSANDRA

This is wild card we didn’t expect this season.

After Timothy and Jayden’s disagreement fizzled out at the dinner party, Tori didn’t appreciate the “smug” look Timothy was sporting.

“I could not stand by a man who displayed himself like Timothy did today,” she told the camera crew.

But Cassandra voiced her opinion that Timothy’s “smug” look was just “his face.”

“Don’t back Timothy. And small bites babe, don’t come for the top. I’m sorry, there’s a f—–g food chain here and you are not at the top. Shut up,” she told the crew.

“She doesn’t speak, but when she does it annoys me. No one speaks to me like that.”

TIMOTHY & JAYDEN

We are on the edge of our seats waiting for this feud to appear. The sparks were made during one of the commitment ceremonies where Timothy felt he was thrown “under the bus” by Lucinda.

The relationship experts weren’t convinced a romantic connection between the pair was forming and asked why write ‘stay’ if a mere friendship was being formed. When Jayden said: “Tim at the end of the day this is a marriage experiment not a friendship experiment.”

“I don’t need advice from you,” Timothy responded, admitting he didn’t want advice from someone younger than him.

During the following dinner party, neither groms held back as Jayden asked where the relationship was heading, despite Lucinda reassuring him.

“You’ll have nothing in life,” Timothy yelled, moments before slamming his fist on the table. While everyone was shocked, Lauren had the best reaction: “No one spills my wine that’s for sure.”

LAUREN & JACK

“Can you muzzle your woman?”

Jack laid it all on the line when he uttered those words to Jonathan during the third dinner party of the season.

It all began when Jonathan informed his wife, Lauren, that Jack said: “‘If we get to couple swap week and we haven’t slept together, you guys can sleep with her.”

Lauren, feeling her friend and Jack’s wife Tori was “disrespected, went head-to-head with the groom at the dinner table when it all kicked off. Everyone was shocked by Jack’s words, but none more so than relationship expert John Aiken who didn’t hold back during the following commitment ceremony.

TIMOTHY VERSUS JACK & TORI

While arguments with Timothy, Jack and Tori have quite escalated to that of Jack and Lauren’s, the feud continues to rear its head throughout the experiment.

“Tori and Jack are full of s–t,” Timothy said.

“There’s no problem with having an opinion. I sit there and I’ve got an opinion on everything, that’s my right and that’s my duty. Suck it up princess, if you don’t like it go somewhere else.”

Timothy doesn’t believe Jack and Tori are being honest about their relationship. Meanwhile, Tori believes Timothy doesn’t “like [his] wife.”

The feud currently seems to be tit for tat, but we don’t doubt more will be said between the pair.

A whole new season of Farmer Wants A Wife is returning in 2024, with five handsome new farmers on the hunt for ‘the one.’

Speaking at the 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards red carpet, host Samantha Armytage told TV WEEK that the country cupids have “a few new surprises” in store for the season ahead.

“I can’t give away too much, but let’s just say we’ve already been inundated,” added Armytage, joking that “the single women of Australia love farmers.”

Samantha will also be joined again by fan-favourite host Natalie Gruzlewski, with the duo ready to help the latest hopefuls ride off into a romantic countryside sunset.

Samantha Armytage will be returning alongside Natalie Gruzlewski for 2024.

In an announcement made in September 2023 by Seven, it was revealed eight farmers would be joining the new season. However, a statement shared February 21, 2024, has revealed only five farmers. As to why the network has cut three farmers from the list remains unclear…

A new season of FWAW begins Sunday April 14, 2024 on Channel Seven and 7Plus at 7:00pm.

The first five farmers listed below are part of the latest announcement confirming their involvement in the new season of Farmer Wants A Wife, while the last three are the farmers who were cut from the 2024 season.

Farmer Dustin – Condobolin, NSW

Age: 26

Third-generation Cattle, Sheep, Goat, and Crop Farmer

“I would say I can sometimes be a little quiet and shy at first, but once I am comfortable around you, you won’t be able to keep me quiet! I am fun, happy, love a laugh, and to take the mickey. I am very serious work, the farm, and my family. I am very ambitious, driven to succeed, and to grow the family farm.”

Farmer Dustin.

(Image: Seven Network)

Farmer Bert – Wamuran, QLD

Age: 30

Pineapple and Dragon Fruit Farmer

“My ideal partner would have an easy-going personality, be willing to try new things and get along with everyone (especially Nanna!) She would be adventurous, like I am, and open to coming along to the things I enjoy doing (dirt biking, boating, camping, spearfishing.) I am looking for someone who will be supportive, but also keep me honest and tell me when I need to pull my head in. I would like someone who is confident in themselves and enjoys a level of independence. Someone that when times get tough, will be there for me, as I will be there for them. Being able to laugh is important to me so must have a thick skin and be able to handle banter, and dish it back as well.”

Farmer Bert.

(Image: Seven Network)

Farmer Joe – Bombala, NSW

Age: 33

**Sheep and Cattle Farmer*

“I’m looking for someone who’s beautiful inside and out. A love for travel and the outdoors is also important. Someone who is strong and independent, who knows what she wants, and is content with who she is. Someone that fits into my life without either of us having to change. Someone who is fit, active and can adapt well to farm-life. I want someone who’s my equal; I don’t need someone to look after me or mother me.”

Farmer Joe.

(Image: Seven Network)

Farmer Tom – Tabilk, VIC

Age: 22

Cattle and Crop Farmer

“I’m looking for someone who’s very caring and very supportive. Farming can be demanding, so I’d like to find someone who understands that and will stick it out by my side. I’d like to find someone motivated and family orientated, who has a positive attitude. And there’s always room for a cheeky side – you’ve gotta have fun!”

Farmer Tom.

Farmer Dean – Kandanga, QLD

Age: 25

Cattle and Watermelon Farmer

“I’m outgoing, fun, easy-going, hardworking and driven. Always up for a laugh and a good time! When I’m not working, I enjoy nothing better than a cold beer and kicking back with my family and all my mates.”

Farmer Dean.

Farmer Zac – Strathalbyn, SA

Age: 28

Cattle, Crop, and Helicopter Mustering

“I’m a positive and outgoing individual that has a bit of a hard time relaxing. I love a challenge and an adventure. Love giving love, and love receiving love. I’m open to giving everything a go on every front, and working hard to build a better life for my future family.”

Farmer Nick – Victor Harbor, SA

Age: 22

Third-generation Dairy Farmer

“I’m looking for someone to do life with! I want the other half to my team… I’d love her to have an eventful and successful life/career and to merge it with mine and kick goals together, then raise a little tribe on the farm. She doesn’t have to be a farmer but if she was, that would allow us to take our passion, wealth, and career anywhere we want to. Ideally, she’d have a clear understanding of the commitment that’s involved with farming. This doesn’t mean the farm is a priority over our relationship though, it’s about finding the right balance. We need to have that spark and build a genuine connection for it to be worthwhile.”

“I’m pretty much a down to earth, hardworking, fun loving, stock standard, country bloke, who will always be there for my family and friends, whenever they need a hand, or my help. I can be serious, when I need to be but when I don’t have to be, I’m always up for a good time, a good laugh and enjoy kicking back with my family and mates.”

Couple swap alert for Married At First Sight Australia 2024, as Ellie Dix and Jonathan McCullough were spotted kissing beach-side mid-February.

In the reality television program, Jonathan has been paired with ‘hot mess’ Lauren Dunn in the hopes their opposite natures could balance out the other. Meanwhile, Ellie was paired with tour guide Ben Walters.

Images obtained by Woman’s Day show the MAFS participants getting close and personal at a beach on the Gold Coast.

In the exclusive images, the pair appear to be working out together before cooling off in the water – Ellie still donned in her exercise clothes – featuring a few cuddles and kisses.

At the time, the details surrounding the two were murky, leaving many questions unanswered. But in the final commitment ceremony, Tori revealed a little secret – Jonathan was texting Ellie and had been since her departure.

On the couch Jonathan denied having feelings for Ellie, saying: “There’s nothing to gain, it’s just a friend.”

There were plenty of cracks in the beginning of Lauren and Jonathan’s relationship, however, the pair seemed to be progressing as Jono admitted he missed his wife during her surgery. But mere days later it was revealed Jono was texting Ellie – consistently. As expected, Lauren and Jono savagely called it quits during final vows.

In an interview with sister site New Idea, Ellie revealed she had “never felt so relaxed with someone.”

“Jono loves hearing my opinions and never shuts me down,” she said. “We’re both on the same page and I feel like I’ve known him for such a long time; it’s weird.”

Jono added: “We’re so comfortable with one another and we haven’t spent a night apart since we got together.”

During the MAFS reunion, Jono revealed he messaged Ellie a week after his final vows when they then talked on the phone for more than an hour, met up for a six hour coffee-date, followed by dinner, drinks and their first kiss.

It wasn’t a huge surprise Lauren and Jono didn’t survive the experiment, as the former bride explained on the Kyle and Jackie O radio program: “On paper, the experts got it right, he’s everything I want, however, there’s something on paper that you can’t put into words.”

“When we woke up the next day, I think the reality of what I had done had really set in. We were in this random house in the middle of the Hinterlands so far away from everything, with a camera man and a sound guy and my producer and I thought ‘s–t, what have I done?'”

Former couple turned friends, Lucinda and Timothy revealed they while they “love” the pair, there was no “alignment” there.

“I think Ellie and Jono, even though they weren’t matched together, I think they’re going to be the most genuine couple to come from this season,” Lucinda said.

Married At First Sight Australia is on Channel Nine and 9Now at 7:30pm.

Hot mess Lauren has been paired with disciplined Jonathan on Married At First Sight Australia 2024. These two might be the perfect pair to balance each other out or cause complete chaos.

Constantly dragged back by red flags, Lauren admits she struggles to break old habits.

Lauren was late to her own MAFS wedding.

“Love a red flag. If I see a red flag, I literally come running at it,” she said.

The 32-year-old from Perth has asked the MAFS relationship experts for a calm, funny, level-headed man to balance her out. They found just that in 39-year-old health business owner Jonathan.

Jonathan follows a strict daily health and exercise routine which, in the past, has hindered his relationships. After cutting himself off from the dating world, Jonathan admits marriage now “weighs” on him more with 40 approaching.

There were a few hiccups for Lauren ahead of her walk down the aisle. From oversleeping and a last-minute fake tan application, Lauren left her accommodation 30 minutes late. But the real trouble began when the limousine got stuck in the driveway of her accommodation, followed by an emergency stop to pluck wildflowers off the side of the road after forgetting her bouquet…

Lauren and Jonathan couldn’t keep their hands off one another during the wedding.

“I’m really stress out about how late I am. That’s not the first impression I wanted to make,” she said.

After arriving to the wedding ceremony an hour late, the pair cracked jokes and hit it off throughout the wedding reception. However, Jonathan’s stepsister, Steph wasn’t so confident Lauren was the woman for him – horrified by his wife’s behaviour.

“It was obvious that there was a physically attraction because they couldn’t keep their hands off each other,” Steph told the crew. “I think Lauren is very flirty and I think when you add a few drinks into the mix… if it was out at a club, we all know what might happen.”

However, the attraction fizzled out the next morning when Lauren described waking up next to Jonathan like “waking up from a one-night stand.”

Things turned a little sour during the honeymoon.

The pair continued to work on their relationship throughout the experiment. However, the feeling that Jonathan didn’t have enough fire for her didn’t disappear, especially when fellow participant Jack told Jono: “Can you muzzle your woman?”

The “disrespectful” sentence was uttered at one of the most explosive dinner parties of the season after Jonathan claimed Jack said, “if we get to couple swap week and we haven’t slept together, you guys can sleep with [Tori]’.” Lauren then dug for answers and questioned Jack’s attraction to his wife.

While Lauren was rattled by the line, what bothered her more was that Jonathan didn’t come to her defence.

“He really did hang me out to dry,” she told the relationship experts during the following commitment ceremony. “In that moment you chose your friendship with Jack.”

Over time, the pair mended what was broken during this dinner party with the help of the challenges and experts. But after discovering Jono was texting Ellie, who had exited mid-experiment, their relationship came crumbling down.

Their breakup, however, came as no surprise to MAFS fans as paparrazzi photos were obtained by Woman’s Day showing Jonathan and Ellie getting cuddly and kissing by the beach.

In one of the most savage final vows ever, Jonathan and Lauren called it quits.

“Although you completely wasted my time in terms of finding a romantic partner you taught me that I should always trust my gut,” Lauren said. “Jono, I don’t see a future with you and no its not me it’s you.”

Jono revealed to the camera crew he was over “apologising for things I haven’t even done.”

As for when he will begin looking for the next special someone? “I’ll take a bit of time and start looking for someone,” he said.

(Image: Nine)

And then came the MAFS reunion episode, aka the dinner party from hell where Jonathan and Ellie made a grand entrance walking hand-in-hand.

While Lauren tried to say hello to Ellie, Jono’s new misses turned away. All eyes were on Lauren, except Jono and Ellie who didn’t have a care in the world as they frequently kissed and flaunting that they were “so happy.”

“I’m so happy I feel like I’ve won Married At First Sight,” Ellie told her former participants before telling the dinner party, “Lauren had said so many times she said on the couch that she has no feelings for Jono –“

To which Lauren fired up: “So that gave you the right to message him the whole time?”

According to Jono, Lauren couldn’t be “hurt” by his new relationship because she doesn’t “give a s— about [him]” while his former MAFS bride tearing up – which he thought was “hilarious.”

“She’s f—— putting it on,” Jono whispered to Ellie. “This is her plan for everyone to feel sorry for her.”

While viewers saw a side to Jonathan and Ellie we haven’t seen before, it was Ellie’s explosion that truly left everyone lost for words.

“I left the experiment on week five you f—— b—-. Are you serious?” she said.

Battling the elements and eating bugs isn’t the only challenge this year’s competitors signed up for on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

A TV insider reveals the stars’ contracts this season have never been stricter – and they certainly have to sing for their supper!

The celebrities’ contracts are stricter than ever before, (Image: Channel 10)

TELL IT ALL!

The fact that the celebs start opening up once they’re in the jungle isn’t by accident.

“Every celebrity in the cast has a previous backstory that makes them a household name. What viewers tune in for are their untold stories. Who have they worked with? Who didn’t they get along with? Their thoughts on public figures,” says the source.

Candice Warner, 39, signed on the dotted line to talk about her husband, cricket great David, 37 – from their day-to-day marriage to embarrassing stories! “Close friends were rolling on the ground laughing when she mentioned he likes to do his business with the door open,” shares the spy.

According to the source, Aussie icon Denise Drysdale agreed to speak about her impressive list of co-stars including the late Ernie Sigley and Daryl Somers.

“Denise has been on television since she was a child,” says the insider. “What Ding Dong has seen in her career could have filled two autobiographies by now, and this is the closest we will ever get to her talking unfiltered.”

And, of course, Khanh Ong, 31, will need to share about his time on MasterChef Australia with the late Jock Zonfrillo.

“Khanh did two seasons with Jock and he has a lot of opinions on the judges and co-stars,” says the insider. “Expect him to be quite ruthless on both Australian Survivor and Masterchef Australia co-stars.”

After all, being opinionated is what helped them all score the gig in the first place!

The choppers are out! (Image: Instagram)

HELICOPTERS CHOPPED

The budget for the bigger stars’ pay cheques was slim-lined this year – and it wasn’t the only cost cutting. “The challenges and stunts are also being downsized,” says the source. “Only a few years ago, the show opened with celebrities bungee jumping out of helicopters. Gone are planes and helicopters, which have been a staple in the launch episodes.”

In fact, shares the insider, “I’d say the safety officers are paid more than most of the challenges cost to build. That is where the money is really going.”

SMOKERS CORNER CUT

In the second season of I’m A Celeb in 2016, Shane Warne famously negotiated the opportunity to smoke while he was in the jungle. The former cricketer wasn’t willing to kick the habit, and he managed to get Ten to build a specialised smoking area not far from camp.

“That started a chain reaction,” according to the source, “and other celebs were wanting the same deal, congregating in the smoker’s yard and not being available on camera”.

The spot was scrapped and celebs are expected to quit smoking and vaping.

“You miss the best conversations with an out-of-bounds area,” says the spy. “And producers were noticing juicy stories being shared, which would have made magic TV.”

HEALTHY OVERHAUL

Booze is also out!

In the weeks leading up to the experience, Denise cut alcohol out of her diet with the help of a medical practitioner.

And in the jungle, the 75-year-old will be tossing back a specialised shake instead! “It’s packed with important vitamins but is quite filling,” shares the insider.

“The former Studio Ten host will still appear to lose some weight throughout her stay but it will be more controlled.”
