When Andy Allen took the title of MasterChef in 2012, the moment changed his life forever.

Not only did his career and professional life kick off, but the win also forged a path for the now-MasterChef judge to meet his future wife.

Alex Davey didn’t watch the show and had no idea who Andy was when they first met.

“When we met, she had no idea who I was,” Andy told TV WEEK in an exclusive interview. “We were both at a party just after I won and a few people were talking about it. She kept saying, ‘You won MasterChef?’ She thought it was a joke.”

While they didn’t start dating immediately after meeting, the former electrician from Newcastle said he never forgot about Alex. When their paths crossed again years later, the pair entered a relationship together.

Four years later, the couple realised they were ready to spend forever together and Andy popped the question in New Zealand.

Andy spilled details about his proposal to Alex with TV WEEK, sharing that the experience didn’t quite go to plan.

“I drove down to what I was told was a nice secluded beach,” Andy explains.

“But when we got there, there were more than 300 people on the beach, and the only free spot I could find was next to a couple of 16-year-olds violently pashing. It was the least romantic spot ever!”

Andy spotted a nearby headland and asked Alex to take a walk with him. Once they were finally alone, he got down on one knee.

“She was so shocked, she basically collapsed on my shoulder,” Andy recalls. “I pretty much had to ask her if it was a ‘yes’. She was very shocked.”

The couple officially tied the knot in October 2022 in a gorgeous ceremony at Terrara House in southern New South Wales.

After they said ‘I do’, Andy and Alex enjoyed a honeymoon in New Zealand, and have since continued to travel the world together.

And while they’ve seemingly enjoyed countless good times together, their relationship hasn’t been without its challenges.

Due to the nature of Andy’s job as a judge on MasterChef Australia, the couple have endured multiple stints of long-distance during their relationship.

“Alex is in Sydney and I’m in Melbourne for filming, so we had to talk about how we would make long distance work,” Andy told TV WEEK in 2020.

“But we were both so excited about the opportunity that we knew we could get through anything together.”

Former MasterChef judge Matt Preston was the one to give Andy advice about juggling work and prioritising his relationship.

“We met up earlier in the year and he said I have to make time for my relationship,” Andy says.

“He said it can be hard with filming, and to make sure I set aside days to have a long weekend with Alex and time away from the set.”

The couple have officially moved into a home in Melbourne together. (Image: Getty)

Now, the pair are living together under one roof, having moved to a home in Carlton in Melbourne.

“I always knew Alex and I were going to be together forever and it’s so nice for us to be finally living in the same location, and to actually have a home we can come to that’s just ours,” Andy said to The Australian Women’s Weekly.

“Neither of us thought anything would change after we married, but there’s definitely a deeper sense of being a family and building a life together,” Alex added.

After meeting on set of the hit-show Revenge in 2011, Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman’s on-screen romance quickly became a real-life relationship.

Although they’re a relatively private couple, the lovebirds have shared glimpses into their beautiful marriage and family life over the past 13 years.

Emily (37) and Josh (35) dated for five years before Josh got down on one knee and popped the question in May 2017.

Emily announced the news via social media, where she showcased her stunning diamond ring.

She later spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the engagement, saying: “He did good. [The proposal] was in a forest. We were in nature on a hike kind of doing what we do, it was very, sort of, us. So yeah, it was great, beautiful.”

They were married on 15 December 2018. (Image: Instagram)

The lovebirds then officially tied the knot in the Bahamas in December 2018.

“Thank you to all of our friends and family who made their way to celebrate with us! We are eternally grateful,” Emily wrote on Instagram a day after the pair’s nuptials.

In August 2021, the couple secretly welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Iris.

“Welcome to the world our sweet little Iris,” Emily posted alongside some black and white photos of Iris’ hand as well as some of herself pregnant, “Our hearts are full.”

Excitingly, Emily and Josh have recently announced that they have welcomed baby number two!

✨Rio Rose ✨ 3-12-2024 Welcome to the world baby girl. We love you so much ❤💕”, the actress wrote.

In the years since they’ve been together, Emily and Josh have shared sweet tributes to each other on important dates including birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine’s Day.

Most recently, the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. “5 years married, 12 together ❤ What a beautiful ride it’s been. Love the life we’ve built, our wild adventures but mostly the little family we’ve created. Happy Anniversary my love ✨✨✨. Can’t wait for all that is to come!!,” Emily shared on Instagram in December 2023.

The couple starred in Miranda’s Victim together in 2023.

It seems the pair can’t get enough of each other, as after appearing on screen together in Revenge from 2011 – 2015, Emily and Josh also co-starred together again in Miranda’s Victim in 2023.

EXCLUSIVE: Farmer Andrew & Jess say ‘I do’ at a perfect country garden party https://www.nowtolove.com.au/entertainment/farmer-wants-a-wife-andrew-jess-wedding-photos/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509939 'We're still on cloud 9'.

The post EXCLUSIVE: Farmer Andrew & Jess say ‘I do’ at a perfect country garden party appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Even an unsuspecting bridesmaid nearly falling into a lake mid-vows couldn’t dampen the joy of fan favourites Andrew Guthrie and Jess Nathan, who wed on March 16 after meeting on Aussie dating show Farmer Wants A Wife in 2021.

“We were just really excited, and so we told ourselves if anything went pear-shaped, we’d just keep our sense of humour about it all,” says Jess, 30, of the couple’s big day at Mimosa Wines near Bermagui on the NSW South Coast.

The pair planned their wedding in six months. (Image: Ben Symons)

BEAUTIFUL BUT CHAOTIC

“I wore a six-metre-long veil,” the bubbly bride tells Woman’s Day. “It wasn’t coping when a breeze picked up during my vows and was basically wrapping around Andrew and my bridesmaids. One of
them, Emma, grabbed it and tried to pull it back. We got married on a pier over a small lake, so she almost fell in, then I almost fell back into the water as well, so, in the end, I just stepped to the side
and took my veil off.

“One of our family members described the ceremony as “emotional, beautiful and chaotic,” Jess adds with a laugh.

“It was very us – it was perfect! We’re still on cloud nine!”

The brief for the day was a formal country garden party, and in a sweet touch, the bridesmaids’ dresses were Jess’ something blue! The reality star wore a gown from Jane Hill Bridal in Melbourne, with an A-line skirt and delicate beading, a low-back and thigh-high slit, and long sheer sleeves with pearl closures at the wrist and down the back.

“We both wrote our own vows,” shares Andrew. (Image: Ben Symons)

“It was the dress of my dreams,” says Jess, whose favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle, which was studded with long-stemmed white roses, with her father Geoff.

“My dad is one of my favourite people in the world – he’s just an absolute legend – so that was really beautiful,” she says.

“And obviously seeing Andrew at the end of the aisle!”

Her groom’s highlight was saying his vows in front of their 145 guests.

“It was when I got the most emotional,” he reveals. “Neither of us had heard them. I got a little bit teary.”

“We were incredibly lucky with the weather too,” Andrew, 34, adds.

“The two days before, it just rained so much. It was a beautiful day on our wedding and then the day after, it rained again. We didn’t really have an option for wet weather, so we were a bit nervous!”

Jess had her five childhood best friends by her side. (Image: Ben Symons)

The couple opted to skip a traditional wedding cake – serving a three-course menu and canapes instead.

“We wanted to have a really bougie canape hour, so we had really beautiful nibbles – like Peking duck and lamb koftas – and had our favourite drinks, which were spicy margaritas and limoncello spritz,” shares Jess. “Everyone got stuck in!”

When the couple chatted with Woman’s Day last year to celebrate their engagement, they shared that they would start trying for a family on their honeymoon. So, is that still the plan?

“We’ve been practising,” laughs Jess.

“We’re not trying for a baby just yet. We’re really enjoying the time of ‘just us’ and I do think babies won’t be too far off, but we’re not quite there just yet. We’ll wait another couple of months and then see where we are.”

They already have a list of baby names, and a lot of their friends have just started families. “It’s all happening,” laughs Andrew.

The couple, who share a home in Delegate, NSW, plan to watch this season of Farmer Wants A Wife, especially as one of Andrew’s groomsmen, Joey Bobbin, is looking for love on the show.

“We’ll be rooting for Joey,” says Jess.

MARRIAGE MADE IN TV

“He’s a bit of a character,” says Andrew.

“It will be interesting to see how it all plays out for him.”

“He saw that it can work from watching Jess and I,” adds Andrew, who thinks the show’s high success rate at matching couples is because “it gives people in rural areas a chance to meet people they wouldn’t have. There’s no way Jess and I would have ever crossed paths had we not gone on the show.

“I know Jess took a lot of convincing to do the show and a friend of mine signed me up as a joke… it’s not really the way any of us ever imagined we’d be meeting each other, but it worked out in the end.”

See more of Jess and Andrew’s wedding this season on Farmer Wants A Wife, Sun, 7pm, & Mon-Tues, 7.30pm, Seven & 7plus.

“It was just such a vibe. We couldn’t fault a thing,” says Jess. (Image: Ben Symons)

Sporting great Grant Kenny is staying strong for his girlfriend Stojanka as she battles breast cancer https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/grant-kenny-girlfriend-cancer/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509961 Brave cancer battle.

The post Sporting great Grant Kenny is staying strong for his girlfriend Stojanka as she battles breast cancer appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
She’s being hailed by her supporters, including close friends Jasmine Stefanovic and Sylvia Jeffreys, as one of the strongest and most resilient women they know. And there’s no doubt that ironman legend Grant Kenny is just as in awe of the bravery of his longtime girlfriend Stojanka Bulic – or “Stoj” as she’s affectionately known – as she undergoes treatment for breast cancer.

The courageous Sunshine Coast local has bravely opened up about her diagnosis in a series of candid TikToks, revealing her shock diagnosis, and the aggressive life-saving treatments she is undergoing.

Holding back tears, the 46-year-old makeup artist, who regularly travels the world working for top fashion houses like Versace and Dior, was visibly shaken as she shared the news with her followers.

“Some Stoj news. Thank you to all my doctors, partner, family and friends for all the support,” she posted, before detailing exactly what she’s been through these past few months.

The pair first went public as a couple in 2023. (Image: Backgrid)

FAMILY TRAGEDY

“In January I found out that I had breast cancer, so that was a bit horrible,” she shared.

“I’ve just been dealing with that and having the lump removed. Everything’s okay… [the] cancer has been removed.

“But there’s just a lot of information that I had to take in, and I’m going to be doing chemotherapy and radiation, and I thought that I’d do this before all my hair falls out, which is already starting to happen.”

As tributes continue to flow in for the popular fashion industry icon, it’s been her own tragic backstory that has touched hearts across the world.

“My mother passed away from breast cancer 22 years ago, so I was petrified of the same outcome,” she explained.

“But breast cancer treatment has advanced so much in this time – I didn’t realise how much I didn’t know.”

The pair are staying strong together. (Image: Backgrid)

Diagnosed with a form of breast cancer known as invasive lobular carcinoma, she has reportedly undergone a lumpectomy – telling her many supporters who may face the same procedure that “it’s very scary, but you will be fine”.

Determined to raise more awareness around breast cancer, especially among women as young as 25, Stoj is now calling for screening to be available to everyone, regardless of age.

Despite putting on a brave face, she couldn’t hide just how devastated she was when her hair began to fall out due to the chemo, even sharing her first haircut.

“You think that it’s a vain issue but it’s not,” she said. “The last three days I’ve been balling my eyes out uncontrollably because I look in the mirror and can’t recognise myself – I was prepared for
a mastectomy, a lumpectomy, the scars – no problem… why is it my hair is making me so emotional? I can’t stop crying.”

And while Stoj continues to fight her battle, Grant will be by her side through the next few crucial months while she recovers.

“He adores her, and he will do whatever it takes to get her through this. They’ll turn this into something positive, especially if it helps other survivors – that’s just how they roll,” a close friend tells Woman’s Day.

Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen divorced – and the signs were there for months https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/isla-fisher-sacha-baron-cohen-divorce/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509963 She engaged a divorce lawyer two years ago, but the couple are only just coming clean now.

The post Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen divorced – and the signs were there for months appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Australian darling Isla Fisher “contacted the UK’s most-fearsome divorce lawyer two years ago” but the actress only revealed her bombshell split from husband Sacha Baron Cohen to the public last week.

In what almost seemed like a joke, the comedy duo shared a picture of them both in tennis outfits, revealing that it’s game over for their “long match” after 20 years together – 13 of which they were married.

The couple, who share three kids together – Olive, 16, Elula, 13, and Montgomery, nine – penned a revealing Instagram post. “In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been working through this change,” they wrote. “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate you respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”

While the pair might have seemed like Hollywood’s golden couple for years, the signs of trouble were hiding in plain sight for those looking closely enough.

The pair announced their split in a joint post. (Image: Instagram)

TIGHT-LIPPED

One of the most tell-tale signs that the couple had called it quits on their relationship was the fact that Isla, 48, kept her ring finger well-hidden during recent red carpet events.

On several occasions, the ex-Home And Away star was pictured putting her hand in her pockets or on her hip and turning it away from cameras to obscure any vision of a wedding ring – or lack thereof.

And, while it’s still unknown exactly when in 2023 the couple separated, they’ve been absent from each other’s social media accounts in recent months.

The last image Isla shared of the couple was in November last year, while the last picture of Isla that Sacha, 52, shared was in February 2023.

What’s more, in typical single girl fashion, Isla has also been spending a lot of time with her famous friends recently.

Just last week she enjoyed a girls’ night at the theatre alongside actress Michelle Dockery, Naomi Watts and film producer Bruna Papandrea.

Interestingly, Isla didn’t give anything away about the pair’s secret split during an interview on Kelly Clarkson’s chat show earlier this year, where she was asked about her Valentine’s Day traditions.

“Every year Sacha does give me a card that says ‘Happy Valentine’s from…’and then there’s this massive question mark, as if anyone else would… as if I’d have any other Valentines,” she said seemingly gushing over her husband.

However, tensions in their marriage reportedly started last year after the couple clashed over where to live, with Sacha keen to return to the UK instead of Isla’s hometown of Perth.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Now, the couple are set to battle it out over custody of their three children and their $76 million estate, which includes several properties around the globe.

Sources claim that Isla, keen to prepare for the worst, reached out to celebrity divorce lawyer Baroness Fiona Shackleton before her split. “Isla has known for some time that the marriage was over, and after some difficult conversations with Sacha, made the decision to consult a divorce lawyer,” an insider told The Sun. “This was back in early summer 2022.”

It has been reported that Sacha has also consulted with top lawyer Laura Wasser, who represented Johnny Depp in his split from Amber Heard.

The couple are understood to still be living together with their children, and have been advised to remain amicable during the proceedings.

“However, with Fiona on board, no stone will be left unturned if things did start to turn nasty – which neither of them want.”

What really happened on The Beatles’ wedding days! https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/the-beatles-john-lennon-paul-mccartney-weddings/ Sun, 14 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509992 In this exclusive book extract, insider Peter Brown tells all.

The post What really happened on The Beatles’ wedding days! appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
In early March 1969, Paul McCartney phoned me to say that he and Linda Eastman were starting a family. They were like lovebirds on a cloud, thrilled Linda was pregnant.

They wanted to get married as soon as possible and asked if I would make the arrangements. The problem was that as soon as they posted banns to get married in Great Britain it became public information.

I was concerned that the ceremony at the Marylebone Register Office was going to turn into a mob scene, with wailing young girls and a horde of paparazzi, but Paul and Linda were unperturbed about fans finding out.

On March 12, 1969, the day of the wedding, the streets in front of the register were indeed mobbed with fans and had to be shut down by the police. We had to enter through a side door where the garbage bins were kept. Paul’s brother Michael, who was the best man, was half an hour late because the police had closed off all the surrounding streets.

One week and one day after Paul married Linda, I received a phone call from John Lennon. He and Yoko Ono were at the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris and wanted to get married, immediately. People believe that John’s desire to get married so soon after Paul’s marriage was a knee-jerk reaction. Perhaps it was psychologically about breaking up with Paul.

When things were at their worst between them, John once said to Paul, “I want a divorce from you like I got from Cynthia.”

At the time, many felt Yoko was a surprising and difficult addition to the Beatles retinue. She was seven years older than John, a small, seemingly fragile yet persistent person, and more than a little kooky. “You know, we didn’t like Yoko at first,” Paul said in his interview. “People did call her ugly and stuff, and that must be hard for someone who loves someone and is so passionately in love with them.”

In the inner circle of Liverpudlians, we thought of Cynthia as family and Yoko’s ascension as First Lady of the Lennons was jarring. John’s pal Magic Alex asks in his transcripts, “Why her?” The reason, many people believed, was that more than a trophy wife, a model or an actress, John needed a chum. His love affair with Paul was ending.

John’s marriage to Yoko was top secret – none of his bandmates attended. (Image: Getty)

SECRET MISSION

When John called and asked me to arrange his wedding to Yoko, they were insistent that I tell not a soul, no one, not even the other Beatles. I arranged their wedding with the stealth of an M15 agent. It was quite a task to pull off for one of the most famous couples in the world.

They insisted they wanted to be married in Great Britain, but once they posted banns, it would be in the press. The solution was to find a place in Great Britain where John and Yoko could walk in
the door and get married with no residency requirements.

Charles Levinson, the London lawyer who handled John’s divorce from Cynthia, advised me that John and Yoko could tie the knot posthaste in Gibraltar, off the coast of Spain, yet part of the British Isles.

I flew to Gibraltar the following morning, just before John and Yoko arrived in a private jet. Both were dressed in white, like two virgins. They were signalling a fresh start. The couple were married in a brief ceremony by Justice Cecil Joseph Wheeler, to whom I paid four pounds, 14 shillings.

Yoko wore dark sunglasses with a big hat, and John smoked cigarettes during the brief ceremony. They were casual and seemingly unemotional, as if it were an obligation more than a celebration.

Australian music icon John Farnham has announced he’ll be releasing a tell-all memoir, The Voice Inside.

The singer is using his voice in a different way, unpacking everything from his illustrious career to his recent health battle.

The You’re The Voice singer has revealed he’s been asked “many times” to put his life story on paper, but that now finally feels like the “right time”.

“It is a very strange feeling looking back on my life, on the good and the bad, and now that I have started, it is all rushing back,” he said.

“I hope the book engages and entertains because that’s what so much of my life has been about.”

(Image: Hachette Australia)

The Voice Inside charts John Farnham’s very personal and public journey, told in his own words and with his inimitable humour, insight, and humility,” publisher Hachette Australia wrote in a statement.

The memoir addresses some of the biggest challenges the 74-year-old has faced, as well as revisits some of the most important and memorable moments not only in his career but in his entire life, dating back to his childhood.

“It is the story of the resilience John found as his stellar career stalled, record companies turned their backs, and he faced financial ruin,” the description reads.

“It is the story of triumph over adversity after a devastating diagnosis of mouth cancer in 2022, only months after the death of his long-time friend and manager, Glenn Wheatley.

“Throughout a lifetime filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, John has remained steadfast, never losing his unique musical talent, creative strength nor his powerful ability to make human connections through his music.”

The long-awaited book will be released in November, and was written in partnership with Poppy Stockwell.

Poppy is an award-winning writer and also directed the critically acclaimed biopic about John Farnham, Finding the Voice, in 2023.

“Working with John on his memoir has been like sitting down with an old friend, who also happens to be an absolute legend, to share stories that are both deeply personal and wildly entertaining,” she said.

“His resilience and sense of humour shine through every recollection, making this project a genuine reflection of the man behind the music.

“It’s been a joy to help bring his tales to life, and I can’t wait for readers to get an unfettered glimpse of the man whose music is the soundtrack to so many of our lives.”

John became a huge success in the Australian music industry in the 1960s and to this day holds the record for the highest-selling Australian album ever with the Whispering Jack record from 1986.

His last public performance was in February 2020, as part of Sydney’s Fire Fight fundraising concert.

Aptly named The Beach Boys, the new documentary will hit our screens in May 2024, and is a “celebration of the legendary band that revolutionised pop music”.

Band member Brian Wilson has reflected on the documentary, sharing: “I’m super happy with the way the documentary turned out, they did an amazing job. It really brought me back to those days with the boys, the fun and the music. And of course, those incredible harmonies.”

The upcoming documentary will follow the band’s humble family beginnings as well as include interviews with the Beach Boys members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston.

Not only that, but statements from other music legends such as Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monae and Ryan Tedder will also be included.

MAFS Timothy shares his dark criminal past https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/married-at-first-sight-australia-2024-timothy-criminal/ Wed, 10 Apr 2024 00:58:56 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509622 He tells all.

The post MAFS Timothy shares his dark criminal past appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Just days after Married at First Sight’s 2024 season wrapped airing, groom Timothy Smith has revealed details of his criminal past.

The 52-year-old, who was married to fan-favourite Lucinda Light during the season, sat down with A Current Affair on Tuesday night, shedding light on his time spent in an American prison.

Explaining that he was living in Vancouver at the time, Timothy shocked audiences after revealing he used a helicopter to illegally smuggle large amounts of marijuana from Canada to the US.

“I was a helicopter pilot in North America that did something really stupid,” he said, sharing that he was paid to take flying lessons for the purpose of trafficking.

“I would take off from a little unmanned airport and I would fly up a valley into a creek where I would meet a four-wheel drive… within a minute, the helicopter would be loaded,” he continued.

Timothy was caught by police in Los Angeles when he returned to the States after visiting his sick mother in Australia.

In 2006 he was sentenced for “trafficking marijuana over an international border” and served an additional “4 or 6 months in immigration,” after pleading guilty he was sentenced to one year in prison.

“It’s something I’m not proud of. I’m definitely not proud of it, but it doesn’t define who I am and I’m not the same person I was 17 years ago,” he shared with the Australian news program.

The loss of Timothy’s mother and brother was an emotional storyline during the recent season of MAFS, and during his appearance on A Current Affair, he revealed they both passed while he was serving time in Prison – an experience, which he found harder than his initial serving time.

“I wasn’t there when my mother and brother died. I paid the price. I pay the price every day,” he said.

Timothy also revealed that he did not tell producers on Married at First Sight he was a convicted drug smuggler when applying for the show.

Despite being one of the more popular pairings of the season, Lucinda and Timothy departed the show early, however, the couple have maintained a close friendship.

Patrick Swayze’s widow Lisa Niemi has ‘got a lot of flack’ for marrying again following his death https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/patrick-swayze-lisa-niemi/ Tue, 09 Apr 2024 05:54:48 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509560 She reflects on finding love again after heartache.

The post Patrick Swayze’s widow Lisa Niemi has ‘got a lot of flack’ for marrying again following his death appeared first on Now To Love.

Patrick Swayze tragically passed away in 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

With him until the very end, Patrick’s widow Lisa Niemi has often reflected on her 34-year marriage to the actor and dancer.

Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi first met when they were teenagers. The pair were both dancers, with Patrick being the son of the owner and director of the dance studio they attended, Houston Ballet Dance Company.

Five years later, Lisa and the Dirty Dancing star were married on 12 June 1975. The couple moved to New York City shortly after they tied the knot, where they both pursued their dance careers until the late 1970s.

Later, they moved to Los Angeles where Patrick’s career as an actor really took off, and the pair remained together until Patrick’s death in September 2009.

Speaking about her marriage to the Road House actor in 2023, Lisa told the Today Show: “Just because somebody’s gone doesn’t end your relationship with them, We spent 34 years together, and that’s always going to be a part of my life and who I am.”

“I still care and I know how tough Patrick’s and my journey was with this,” the 67-year-old added. “Cancer may have taken him, but it didn’t beat him. And I’m continuing his fight for him.”

While she’s opened up about her loving marriage to Patrick, Lisa has also experienced some undeserved backlash and criticism about getting remarried to her current partner, Albert DePrisco, in 2014.

“Yes, I got a lot of flack — it’s like, ‘How dare you.’ There are some pretty rabid Patrick fans out there who think I’m evil, just don’t like me because I was married to him,” she said on the Amy and T.J. podcast.

“So there was a lot of flack that came on that, a lot of criticism, and you just learn to deal with it and move on. But it’s like — I was so tempted so many times to say, ‘Hey girlfriend, stand in my shoes, tell me about it. Go ahead — tell me just because I lost my husband that I don’t love him anymore.’ “

Lisa met Albert, a jeweller, “about three years after” Patrick’s death.

“If we had met before then, it wouldn’t have happened, but after three years we were about ready,” she told the podcast. “We were introduced by longtime friends that we had both known for 30 years who vouched for the other person.”

Lisa has opened up about her ongoing connection with her late husband, after 34 years together.

“Patrick is still with me. I still have a relationship with him; he’s physically not here, [but] every day he’s with me and I feel him there,” she said.

“What was really unusual was … I really fell in love with Albert, and it didn’t affect — it was interesting to see how it didn’t affect my love for Patrick one bit.”

“Just because you lose a loved one doesn’t mean you stop loving, and you don’t have that love to give,” Lisa said.

“And I think Albert and I were fortunate to find someone to give that love to.”

“Love was right in front of them”: How MAFS’ Ella Ding and fiancé, Guy fell in love https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/celebrity-news/ella-may-ding-partner-77429/ Sun, 07 Apr 2024 23:30:46 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/celeb-news/ella-may-ding-partner-77429 They just got hitched!

The post “Love was right in front of them”: How MAFS’ Ella Ding and fiancé, Guy fell in love appeared first on Now To Love.

Married At First Sight Australia star Ella May Ding is married to Guy Palermo!

“Waking up on my 30th birthday a wife❤ To the man of my dreams,” she captioned the adorable photos on Instagram (below).

The guests at Ella’s Gatsby-themed 30th birthday party didn’t suspect they were also there to celebrate a wedding ceremony when a short film began to play featuring flashback videos of the pair, and snippets of the couple saying “I do.”

Best friend and former MAFS participant, Domenica Calarco arguably had the best reaction, breaking down into tears as she slowly pieced together that Ella and Guy got hitched.

It was a short engagement for the couple after a casual morning run for turned into a surprise engagement

“A morning run turned into a proposal … I SAID YES 💍,” Ella captioned the heartwarming video on Instagram.

While in tears, Ella celebrated her engagement with her family and friends, including her MAFS co-star Dominca Calarco who commented on the post: “STILL BAWLING 💍💍💍😭😭😭❤❤❤

Mere hours later, Ella shared a photo of the pair all loved up, presumably from the engagement party as she donned her stunning wedding ring.

“24.02.24💍 The man of my actual dreams proposed to me with my friends & family,” she wrote.

“I love you. I love us. And thank you for choosing me. Everything that we have been through lead us back to eachother, it was all worth it ❤

In October, many speculated the pair were engaged when images obtained by The Daily Mail showed Ella presenting a gift to her then-boyfriend. However, it was a ‘bit’ for advertisement.

Ella and Guy ‘hard launched’ in April.

(Image: Instagram)

The lovebirds first launched their relationship in April 2023, with Ella making it Instagram.

“I guess this is a hard launch,” she wrote alongside a picture of the couple.

There were few details around her new man at the time, but a source did inform The Daily Mail that he was “lowkey” and knew how to play the long game.

“Her boyfriend is very lowkey, no one knows who he is. They’ve known each other for six years and he’s been pursuing her in that time. Love was right in front of them the whole time,” a source told The Daily Mail.

The pair have known each other for six years.

Prior to her relationship with Guy, Ella was in a relationship with Made in Chelsea star Miles Nazaire in 2022. The pair chatted online for months before meeting in real life – with their relationship playing out on the E4 show. However, the pair split in October 2022.

“Made in Chelsea was pretty crazy. The show was intense. It was probably harder than MAFS. It’s such a short period of time. I didn’t find love,” she explained during Channel Nine’s Upfronts presentation in Sydney.

Ella stole Australia’s hearts when she first appeared on the 2021 season of MAFS, where she was married to Mitchell Eynaud.

While she didn’t find a husband on the series, she was incredibly grateful for the experience, especially since it was where she met her best friend, Domenica Calarco.

“Crazy to think, if we didn’t go on MAFS we wouldn’t be travelling the world together,” Ella wrote on Instagram last year during the pair’s holiday.

Simone Callahan is turning over a new leaf in her life story with her book, Growing With Grace https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/simone-callahan-book/ Sun, 07 Apr 2024 21:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509259 'How I healed from heartbreak'.

The post Simone Callahan is turning over a new leaf in her life story with her book, Growing With Grace appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
In 2005, Simone Callahan was a lost woman. Reeling from her much-publicised divorce to Australia’s most-famous cricket player, Shane Warne, the bubbly and infectious blonde that we were used to seeing was, behind the scenes, falling apart.

“I felt I had let my kids down when I got divorced – my parents are still married and I’d never contemplated being a single parent,” she tells Woman’s Day.

“I felt defeated, and I wasn’t just able to deal with it privately – it was being played out for all the world to see. That was a very difficult time.”

On top of all the societal pressures and growing public interest in her split, Simone was also at a crossroad in her professional life after dedicating the previous 10 years to her now ex-husband and three kids.

“I married at 25 and then had three kids in five years, which was a real blessing but simultaneously I lost myself,” she confesses.

“Between being a wife and a mum, I didn’t feel like my life was aligning with my true self. I had to find that again.”

Shane and Simone were married from 1995 to 2005. (Image: Getty)

FIGHTING FOR FAMILY

Following the divorce, Simone says she turned to yoga in a bid to restore her mind and body, and while she had practised the meditative form of exercise for years prior, she began to really hone her skills and found it not only helped her “heal mentally and emotionally” but find her life purpose.

“My practice made me stronger and more at peace internally, and it gave me the tools to take care of myself,” says Simone.

“It was important to invest time in self-care as I had three young kids that needed me, and I knew that I had to be strong for both me and the kids, so I made time to practice.”

Simone adds that she has since become a qualified yoga teacher, which she says has completely “transformed” her belief in herself.

“I still have so much to learn and so much I want to share.

It’s a life-long practice and I’ll continue to keep learning and growing,” she says.

GROWING WITH GRIEF

Now Simone, 54, is sharing her journey of self-discovery with the world in her new book, Growing With Grace.

Told through a combination of anecdotal passages, candid diary entries and interspliced with advice and exercises that readers can apply to their own lives, Simone hopes the book “helps and inspires people to live their best life”.

In one particularly poignant section, Simone opens up about how yoga helped her navigate the arduous waters that is grief.

“In yoga we practice non-attachment and appreciate that nothing is permanent – we have to live in the moment and be present in both the here and now,” she says.

“Grief is fluid – you carry it with you every day but having my little rituals keeps me aligned with my purpose and feeling well.”

In March 2022, Shane died very suddenly from a heart attack while holidaying in Thailand. He was just 52.

“Every day I have gratitude for my life, and for my three kids. Grief has taught me to not take anything for granted and to try my best every day and do the work to stay strong.”

GROWING WITH GRACE (Booktopia, $26.50).

NEW CHAPTER

Simone says that her kids Brooke, 26, Jackson, 24, and Summer, 22, have always been her “number one”, and admits that when she was first approached to create the book, she felt some trepidation around what it would mean for them.

“I wasn’t sure how I felt about sharing my journey,” she notes.

“[But] I spoke to my kids and my family and they all said that I should, so I put pen to paper.”

The cops had to be called in after a known obsessed fan was sending disturbing messages to Kate Ritchie – not far from her home – bombshell police documents reveal.

Gerard Ryan, a 71-year-old Perth man, was arrested in an eastern suburbs park in Sydney late last month after he sent the Nova radio personality, 45, a disturbing message saying he was in her neighbourhood and hoped to find her.

Gerard Ryan told Kate he was “madly in love” with her. (Image: Facebook)

Kate is said to have called the police and laid bare an eerie campaign of harassment that dates back years, after Ryan began to comment on Kate’s social media. “I just want to kiss you my heart is pounding for you I love you madly,” Ryan commented on one of her posts.

When Kate didn’t respond to his obsessive messages they only intensified, both in volume and subject matter.

Kate was bombarded with inappropriate messages. (Image: Facebook)

BIZARRE BEHAVIOUR

Between February 6, 2022 and April 25, 2023, “the accused has sent hundreds of messages to the complainant [Kate]”, the police tendered in court.

In the messages, Ryan is said to have sent “several sexually explicit messages” and “numerous naked photographs.”

After Kate blocked him in April last year, Ryan sent a letter to her work address, which included a Valentine’s Day card with his name and residential address on the back.

Just last month, Ryan sent a gift card worth $200 to her office with a note saying it was to replace her lawnmower, after she spoke on air about her old one breaking down.

Also in the package were four photos, one of which included a picture of a church on Rottnest Island with the words, “The church we could get married one day.”

Ryan pleaded guilty to the chilling charge and has been sentenced to a 12-month conditional release order with an apprehended violence order also in place.

Samantha Armytage talks about romance on her own farm – and how she deals with “anonymous idiots” https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/samantha-armytage-living-on-farm/ Sun, 07 Apr 2024 20:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=509261 ‘I’m very hands-on.'

The post Samantha Armytage talks about romance on her own farm – and how she deals with “anonymous idiots” appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Every season of Farmer Wants A Wife features romantic dates, with farmers and their besotted ladies snuggling up outdoors, sipping champagne as the sun sets. But when there aren’t any TV cameras around, are farmers really that romantic? Host Samantha Armytage, who’s married to racehorse breeder Richard Lavender, thinks they are.

“Most farmers I know are constantly doing lovely things for their wives,” she tells TV WEEK. “Rich and I will, often, when he’s finished working, go and have a gin and tonic down in the paddock in front of a bonfire.”

(Image: Instagram)

This is Farmer’s 14th season and the third Sam has been involved with. The 2023 season of the reality favourite was the most successful ever, with Brad and Clare already having had a baby, and David and Emily getting engaged, as well as Andrew and Claire.

Sam says that this season’s farmers are “all gorgeous”.

“I can’t pick a favourite, because it’s like picking your favourite child,” she says. “They’re all my boys. But there are some really good-looking roosters in this lot.”

(Image: Seven)

Sam, who quit as Sunrise co-host in 2021, soon after marrying Richard, says that she’s “very hands-on” at the couple’s property in the NSW Southern Highlands. When she arrives home from hosting Farmer, she gets her hands in the dirt, working in the garden.

“I love that I’m starting to get the balance right,” she says.

Recently, she even helped to deliver a newborn colt.

“I was a midwife that day,” she explains. “Rich rang me up from the stables and said, ‘Can you get down here? I’m going to need some help.’”

Just as Sam has become part of Richard’s life, he’s become part of hers, glamming up for events and photo shoots.

“I think he loves it a bit much, actually!” she says with a laugh. “Most of the time, we have a pretty quiet life, but he’s not averse to going out and getting dressed up too.”

The 47-year-old says that it feels great to have “a foot in each camp”.

“I still get to do what I love and make television, but I also can come back to the peace and quiet of the country,” she says. “I just don’t think I could live my life all in the public glare. I’ve done that. It’s not very pleasant. This is a really nice break for me and a nice time in my life.”

(Image: Seven)

Having regularly been the subject of social-media pile-ons during her time on Sunrise, Sam reinforces that she’s “really enjoying” being away from all that.

“It’s just so monotonous and horrible, the social media hate that comes with that news and opinion-based world. But it’s the world we live in. As soon as this show goes to air and I’m back on screen, you get a few anonymous idiots writing things to you. I just block them all.”

When Sam’s not working on the farm or hosting Farmer, one of the things she’s doing is writing a sitcom. She hints that there may be a character who goes through things “similar to the stuff I’ve lived through”. Is she writing a role in the sitcom for herself?

“I don’t know if my ego is that big!” she says with a laugh. “We’ll get through Farmer first and then I’ll let you know.”

(Image: Supplied)

Farmer has been a welcome diversion for Sam during a “very sad time” in her life. In February, she unexpectedly lost her beloved labrador, Banjo, who she described as “my best mate, my baby and my shadow”.

“I’ve been busy working, so it’s quite good to have had a purpose, because it’s been a time of grief,” she explains. “It’s been horrible, but that’s life. You love, you grieve.”

For Sam, Farmer doesn’t feel like a TV show as she’s shooting it.

“It’s a bit like a rite of passage, where you become part of the Farmer family forever,” she says. “I still stay in touch with a lot of the farmers. In fact, they all sent me lovely messages when Banjo died. That was very sweet, so there’s a connection there that lasts.”

Former Australian Idol star Courtney Murphy has been diagnosed with late-stage bowel cancer.

Since competing in the singing contest in 2004 alongside Casey Donovan and Anthony Callea, Courtney continued singing and welcomed three children with his wife, Jane.

A statement shared by his brothers Chris and Kieran revealed the Perth musician underwent “extensive chemo” at the end of March and was heading into surgery a few days later.

“He’s gone into that surgery knowing he has the love and support of WA behind him,” the statement read.

Given Courtney’s cancer diagnosis, the “self-employed musician” cannot work for the foreseeable future, leaving his family vulnerable.

To raise money for his treatment and his family, GoFundMe page has been organised which has amassed more than $105,000 in mere days – surpassing its original target of $50,000.

“Anyone who knows Courtney knows that his heart is as a big as his voice and we’ve set up this GoFundMe page in the hope that we can ease some of the burden on his young family,” the GoFundMe statement read.

“Any funds generated will go directly to Courtney Murphy, his wife Jane and children as they navigate the difficult road ahead.”

In early April, the brothers announced Courtney was in “the fight of his life.”

“It is with heavy hearts that we share Court has been diagnosed with advanced stage bowel cancer,” the family statement read. “It’s very serious.”

Australian pop-singer Cody Simpson, 26, and 11x Olympic medallist Emma McKeon, 29, are the countries sporting sweethearts. In April 2024, the lovebirds celebrated their two-year anniversary.

To mark the special occasion, Cody wrote “2 precious years with this one” alongside a loving photo of the pair kissing.

While the pair remain relatively private, Cody hasn’t missed an anniversary tribute yet – with the former singer confessing his love for their one year anniversary.

“I look at her and light goes all through me,” wrote Simpson, adding, “1 year with you. Since I met you I’ve felt as though I’ve been living in perpetual sunlight. I like the sun because you can’t buy it, grasp it or possess it. You can only appreciate it when it’s there, feel it all over and let it make its way within. Love is quite the same. I love you.”

The couple confirmed their relationship in the lead up to the 2022 Commonwealth Games, with Simpson making his professional swimming debut alongside McKeon as part of the Australian swim team.

To mark the couple’s milestone, scroll down to look back at some of their most adorable moments.

Cody shared a loving tribute to Emma in honour of their two-year anniversary in early April 2024.

Emma was named Young Australian of the Year in 2024, and Cody was her biggest supporter watching from home.

“Congratulations my love, So proud of you,” Cody wrote on Instagram while watching Emma accept her award on TV. He also cheekily said, “oh, she looks good” behind the camera.

We love how supportive these lovebirds are of each other.

“Happy birthday @codysimpson ❤ Always making me smile, always making me laugh,” Emma wrote in a touching birthday tribute.

Cody Simpson recently spoke out about how swimming and girlfriend Emma McKeon kept him grounded instead of ‘falling in’ with his Hollywood fame.

“Emma is a huge part of my life, and has been such a positive influence on me in terms of keeping me grounded since we met.”

“She is a really calming presence, she has really helped me, and she just impresses me so much, she is such a wonderful person.”

Cody and Emma looked as in love as ever as they posed for the camera together at an event in November 2023.

Cody and Emma were looking straight out of a Hollywood movie, dressed in all black at a wedding they attended together.

The couple both competed as part of the Australian swimming squad at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Cody shared this sweet sunset snap to Instagram.

“This woman never ceases to inspire me just simply being the human being she is. Humble, kind and full of dreams.”

“Luckiest man on earth. Above all, I’m glad my path has brought me home and to this woman. Baby you are the wind in the sails,” wrote Simpson.

All smiles from the happy couple!

“2022 was our year 🤍 Excited to see what the next year brings,” wrote Emma on a New Years Eve post to Instagram.

The couple travelled to the New South Wales South Coast for Simpson’s birthday.

“What an amazing weekend full of love,” captioned McKeon.

Emma shared this adorable picture of the couple at her brother’s wedding.

“A brief rendezvous in Barcelona with my love,” wrote Simpson.

The couple shared a sweet moment together in Barcelona.

They may have mansions and fancy cars, but for Pia Miller and her multi-millionaire husband Patrick Whitesell, it’s all about love https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/celebrity-news/pia-miller-husband-73717/ Tue, 02 Apr 2024 23:39:02 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/celeb-news/pia-miller-husband-73717 ''The magnificent person.''

The post They may have mansions and fancy cars, but for Pia Miller and her multi-millionaire husband Patrick Whitesell, it’s all about love appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Pia Miller’s career began when she landed the iconic Dolly Magazine model search, and she became a household name in Australia when she lit up our screens on Home and Away.

While her professional life went from success to success at times, her personal life wasn’t always easy.

At 19 years old, she had to put her modelling career on hold when she gave birth to her first son Isaiah Loyola.

Then in 2005, her most high-profile relationship began when she met AFL footballer Brad Miller, and they welcomed a son called Lennox in 2006.

During an interview with Elle Magazine, she spoke about the struggle of balancing motherhood and her career.

“I was in my late teens caring for a baby, working, bringing him to shoots and worrying that maybe I was damaging him in some way while everyone else was out finding themselves or whatever,” said the now 40-year-old.

“But somehow I don’t feel like I missed out because as soon as the boys were older, I got a presenting job with Qantas and was able to see the world that way. Then I landed my Home and Away role so it’s all worked out, just in a different order.”

Pia and Brad divorced in 2005 and though she was engaged to Tyson Mullane after her first husband, the model didn’t find lasting love until she met multimillionaire Patrick Whitesell, 59, a highly sought-after agent to the stars and counts Matt Damon and Hugh Jackman as clients.

The two were first linked in August 2019 and made their public debut soon after at a Los Angeles Halloween party.

By November 2020, the two were engaged and in May the following year, New Idea reported that they tied the knot in a no-expense-spared wedding.

Aside from pictures on Pia’s Instagram, the couple keeps their relationship relatively private.

Most recently, the couple walked the red carpet at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars After Party where Pia sparkled in a glamorous black sequined dress (above).

Who is Khan Ong? Meet the kitchen whiz turned resident I’m A Celebrity chef https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/who-is-khanh-ong/ Tue, 02 Apr 2024 23:12:38 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=508967 Will the celebrity chef win the title of King of the Jungle?

The post Who is Khan Ong? Meet the kitchen whiz turned resident I’m A Celebrity chef appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Australians were first introduced to Khan Ong in the kitchen – the MasterChef kitchen that is. Appearing in the 2018 season, the then-25-year-old Melbourne DJ battled it out until the semi-finals in which he was inevitably eliminated.

More recently, TV-watchers have been introduced to the hilarious personality on the 2024 season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia. But what has he been up to in between? Here, we recap everything you need to know about kitchen whiz and Australian media personality Khan Ong.

Khanh is the celebrity chef on I’m A Celebrity 2024.
(Image: Instagram)

Khan Ong’s reality TV history

Khanh Ong has made quite an impression on the reality TV landscape with his dynamic presence and culinary prowess. Initially rising to fame on MasterChef Australia, Khanh showcased his cooking skills and vibrant personality, making him a fan favourite.

Following his MasterChef stint, Ong took his adventurous spirit to Australian Survivor: Blood vs Water, where he competed alongside his sister, Amy Ong. While he was voted out on day 27, the jungle survival skills he picked up during the 2022 would certainly come in handy later…

Expanding his presence in the world of television, Khanh Ong became the host of his own cooking show, Khanh Ong’s Wild Food, on SBS Food in 2023. This series combines his love for cooking with adventure, as he explores Australia’s regional produce and unique culinary offerings.

Khanh competed on MasterChef season ten.

Most recently, Khanh has entered the South African jungle for the 2024 season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.

Khanh Ong’s cookbook

As the MasterChef-to-real-life pipeline often operates, Khanh Ong released his own cookbook in 2020, titled ‘A Gay Guy’s Guide to Life Love Food’.

The book includes over 70 recipes inspired by his Vietnamese heritage, accompanied by his signature tongue-in-cheek humour and relatable life and dating anecdotes.

Who is Khanh Ong dating?

Speaking of dating… as of April 2024, it is believed that Khanh Ong is single.

Despite keeping much of his dating life private, the media personality did reveal that he leans away from traditional monogamy and that he is focusing on his career in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I dated a guy for a year in 2019. We weren’t exclusive, but when we decided to make it exclusive, he ended up cheating,” he shared.

While not much else is known about his dating life, his platonic relationship with former The Bachelor Matt Agnew certainly provides fodder for heartwarming friendship goals.

Shannen Doherty shares emotional cancer update with fans https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/celebrity-news/shannen-doherty-cancer-battle-78828/ Tue, 02 Apr 2024 22:22:41 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/celeb-news/shannen-doherty-cancer-battle-78828 ''The fear was overwhelming...''

In 2015, former 90210 and Charmed actress Shannen Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer with the disease returning in 2020 as Stage IV, metastasizing and spreading to her brain.

Since it’s return, Shannen has opened up about her battle with the ferocious disease and the realities of living with cancer.

Shannon told People magazine that she remained positive after bravely admitting: “I don’t want to die.”

“I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better. I’m just not done.”

But in a recent heartbreaking update, Shannen has told fans she is letting go of some of her possessions to make things “easier” for her family when she passes.

“My priority at the moment is my mum. I know it’s going to be hard on her if I pass away before her. Because it’s going to be so hard on her, I want other things to be a lot easier,” she said.

“I don’t want her to have a bunch of stuff to deal with. I don’t want her to have four storage units filled with furniture.”

In early 2024 it was revealed her new cancer infusion wasn’t working. Despite doctors suggesting she switch treatments, Shannen wanted to persist with the treamtent.

“After the sixth or seventh treatment, we really saw it breaking down the blood-brain barrier. Do I call that a miracle? Yeah. For me, that happens to be a miracle right now. That I sort of rolled the dice and said, ‘let’s keep going’,” she shared on her podcast Let’s Be Clear.

Desperate for advancements in treatment options, Shannen hopes “to squeeze out another three to five years” to experience new options to help fight her cancer.

“There’s going to be a lot more options that will give another five years,” she said on her podcast.

Shannen began radiation therapy in January 2023 and posted a video of the process to her Instagram page.

“January 12, the first round of radiation took place,” she wrote on Instagram. “My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life. I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at Cedar Sinai [Medical Centre].”

“But that fear… The turmoil… the timing of it all… This is what cancer can look like.”

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

In a follow-up post, shared four days later, she opened up about the terrifying surgery.

“I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy,” she penned. “I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified. The fear was overwhelming to me. Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore. This is what cancer can look like.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar responded to the video, telling Shannen: “You are a warrior.”

Selma Blair – who’s fighting her own battle with multiple sclerosis – commented: “This is a lot. This is a lot to take on, still again. And I am wishing for all the wise peace you have learned to find you in the terror moments. To know we are holding you. Love. All love.”

In October 2021, more than a year after her cancer returned, Shannen encouraged people to get regular check ups and “cut through the fear.”

“For breast cancer awareness month, I’d like to share more of my own personal journey from my first diagnosis to my second,” she wrote on Instagram. “Is it all pretty? NO but it’s truthful and my hope in sharing is that we all become more educated, more familiar with what cancer looks like.

Shannen has been open about her difficult journey.

(Image: Instagram)

“I hope I encourage people to get mammograms, to get regular checkups, to cut thru the fear and face whatever might be in front of you. In 2015 I got diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a mastectomy and did chemo and radiation. I had many nose bleeds from the chemo. Not sure if any of you experienced this.

“I also was beyond tired. I cheered myself up by putting on funny pajamas that my friend Kristy gave me. Did they actually cheer me up? Yes!! Lol. I looked ridiculous and in that ridiculousness, I was able to laugh at myself. Finding humor helped get me thru what seemed impossible. I hope we all find humor in the impossible.”

30 years and three daughters later, Harry Connick Jr and wife Jill Goodacre are more in love than ever https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/harry-connick-jr-wife/ Mon, 01 Apr 2024 04:31:45 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=508799 ‘It Had To Be You’.

The post 30 years and three daughters later, Harry Connick Jr and wife Jill Goodacre are more in love than ever appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Grammy award-winning singer and actor Harry Connick Jr has been on the scene for decades now, and has become one of the biggest names in jazz music. Not only that, but Harry has also gone on to become a judge on both American Idol and Australian Idol, making him a much-loved television personality.

But away from the spotlight, Harry Connick Jr is a devoted husband and loving father of three girls.

The 56-year-old has been with his wife, Jill Goodacre, for many years and the couple will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary late-April.

Born in 1964, Jill Goodacre is an actress and former model who is most well-known for being one of Victoria’s Secret’s main models in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Jill has also starred in a few movies and TV shows, and even appeared as herself in an episode of sitcom Friends in season one of the hit show.

Arguably one of the strongest couples in Hollywood, their love truly standing the test of time. But what is their secret to such a successful marriage?

“I married my best friend. And I listen! Ultimately I’ve been very fortunate — I understand that that doesn’t happen for everybody but it happened for us and we take it very seriously,” he said in a 2014 interview.

“I think one of the reasons we’ve lasted this long is that we’re so aligned in every way. We have the same morals, the same goals,” Harry shared in an interview with PEOPLE in 2017.

“Everything that he values, I value so much too,” Jill added. “And our family has always been the most important.”

How did Harry Connick Jr meet Jill Goodacre?

Harry and Jill met in a chance encounter on 24 February 1990 at a hotel in Los Angeles, California.

In 2007, Harry spoke with Glamour about their love story and how they met.

“I was staying in L.A. Jill walked past me at the hotel pool, and I introduced myself. She had a really strong handshake. If that had been it between us, just that moment, I would’ve thought about it for the rest of my life,” he said.

It seems that Jill felt a similar way, as Harry also told the publication that Jill “called her mom that night and said, ‘I met the guy I’m going to marry.’ Of course, she didn’t let me know.”

A year later, Harry wrote his song “Jill” about his then-girlfriend for his Grammy Award-nominated album Blue Light, Red Light.

Four years after their by-chance encounter, they tied the know on April 16, 1994, in Harry’s hometown, New Orleans.

The couple have gone on to welcome three children together – all daughters.

Georgia Tatum was born in 1996, Sarah Kate in 1997, and their youngest Charlotte was born in 2002.

Does Harry Connick Jr live in Australia now?

Despite all three of his daughters currently living down under, Harry Connick Jr and his wife Jill Goodacre do not live in Australia.

The singer appeared as a judge on Australian Idol in 2023, and lived here while filming last year’s season. However, Harry has since returned back to his home in the United States.

Why are Harry Connick’s daughters in Australia?

Georgia, Kate and Charlotte came to Australia with Harry and Jill for Australian Idol last year, but the three girls loved the Australian lifestyle so much that they decided to stay!

The family recently reunited for The AACTA Awards in early 2024, and Harry admitted to TV WEEK his fondness of Australia.

“Our daughters live in Australia, so we come in here quite a bit and I’m always looking forward to coming back here,” he said.

“We couldn’t have lost them to a better place,” Harry told The Project in 2023, and his youngest daughter Charlotte spoke to ABC Radio Sydney, saying “it’s the best” in reference to living in Sydney.

Once rivals for the top spot on Australian Idol, Shannon Noll & Cosima De Vito have always had each other’s backs https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/shannon-noll-cosima-de-vito/ Sun, 31 Mar 2024 19:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=508646 Idols reunited!

]]>
When Cosima De Vito quit Australian Idol live on TV during the semi-finals in 2003, it was one of those TV moments that stopped the nation and left a shocked Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll to fight out the grand final.

More than three million fans tuned in to see the 22-year-old Guy take the top prize, leaving Cosima fans crushed. Even then-judge Ian “Dicko” Dickson declared she should have been crowned.

They were up-and-coming stars in 2003. (Image: Getty)

That Cosima, now 47, was forced to leave because throat nodules threatened to rob her of her voice was almost forgotten as outraged fans fuelled conspiracy theories and sparked rumours of bad blood between Shannon and Cosima.

Viewers were left wondering if Shannon got more votes than Cosima after Guy was announced as one of the two grand finalists. But Cosima’s shock exit meant Shannon went straight through whether or not he had the votes.

23 years on! (Image: Phillip Castleton)

CONTROVERSIAL END

“I felt really bad for Shannon. I felt really guilty,” Cosima tells Woman’s Day, insisting there was never any bad blood between the two and that she always only felt love and support from Guy and Shannon.

“We never talked about it, and we were always friends, and it was understood that we wanted the best for each other. There were never any hard feelings in any way, shape or form.”

Shannon, now 48, also always felt bad that Cosima’s Idol dream ended so abruptly and was shrouded in so much controversy, so the big-hearted singer recently reached out to help her.

“Cosima had a rough exit from the show and I’ve always felt bad for her,” he says, explaining that when she appeared on his podcast and they talked about it, he wanted to do something special for his old Idol mate.

“I thought what better way to mend the bridges for her than to get her on a single and back on radio. She was tickled pink to be a part of it and she blew her vocals out of the water.”

The pair secretly recorded a new version of the Kelly Clarkson and country music star Jason Aldean hit duet Don’t You Wanna Stay in January.

Australia eagerly watched as the trio battled to become our first idol. (Image: Getty)

“It’s like 21 years melted away,” says Cosima. “Singing on your own is fun but singing with someone else is special.”

It’s on Shannon’s recently released album, marking the 20-year anniversary of his first, That’s What I’m Talking About. It also coincides with his first national tour in a decade.

This time around, it’s a very different Shannon, who long ago swapped his rock’n’roll routine for a quiet family life with wife Rochelle and four children on a small farm near Casino in northern NSW. He also follows a stringent gym regimen.

“I think those days [of drinking and partying] have well and truly gone,” laughs Shannon, who’s swapped vodka for vegie juice and is happier in the gym or on the farm than he ever was in a nightclub. “I’m quite fond of the green juice these days!” he jokes.

For Cosima, teaming up with her old Idol pal has been a wonderful trip down memory lane.

“Coming together is definitely up there as one of my special moments in my career,” she says.

You can get a ticket to catch Shannon’s 15-date tour around Australia here.

Out of all The Bachelor Australia couples to have won the series, Matty J and Laura Byrne still seem to be everything the show promises and more.

Since leaving The Bachelor they have famously swapped roses, stilettos, and cocktails, for nappies, toys in the living room, dirty bibs, and more love than ever.

In 2019 the couple welcomed their first daughter, Marlie-Mae, after becoming engaged on their babymoon two months prior.

Now, Marlie has grown up into a playful, energy-filled, and very cute toddler.

Then in February 2021, the proud parents doubled their love when Laura gave birth to their second daughter, Lola.

Of course, it’s been no easy feat going from a family of two, to three, then to four, but in a Q&A on her Instagram, Laura revealed how she juggles motherhood and work life.

“With help,” revealed Laura. “Marlie is in daycare a couple of days a week, and Matt is really hands-on, we parent 50/50 and mutually respect each other’s careers,’ she explained.

“Lola comes to work with me when I’m in the office, and Matt has her when Brittany and I podcast, we just make it work.

“It isn’t always pretty, and we don’t always nail it, but it’s worth it.”

“Thanks to everyone who joined along the wild ride that was making Easter bonnets, it was touch and go, but we brought it home 💪🏻.”

Matty recently celebrated his 35th birthday and finally fulfilled one of his dreams!

Laura shared this family picture from their mini holiday in Byron Bay!

“Here’s to 6 glorious days spent chlorinated, smashing ice creams with family and friends,” she wrote.

As a mum and business owner, Laura admitted Matty was “really hands-on” to make her dreams on Dancing With The Stars happen. While speaking with 7News, she revealed how important it was to her to balance her work/life in the hopes her daughters will “appreciate” her efforts.

“I guess because I do have two little girls and I do really try… taking on these sorts of new challenges like Dancing With the Stars, I want to do them because I want to be able to model to my girls that women can do all those things and still be a good mum,” she said.

Thankfully the pair have the juggling act down pact between her and Matty, but she joked she is getting “very little sleep.”

Who is reality star and radio host Brittany Hockley’s boyfriend? Meet footballer Benjamin Siegrist https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/brittany-hockley-boyfriend/ Wed, 27 Mar 2024 04:45:52 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=508582 She’s found a keeper (literally).

The post Who is reality star and radio host Brittany Hockley’s boyfriend? Meet footballer Benjamin Siegrist appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
We first saw her on our screens on the Honey Badger’s memorable season of The Bachelor in 2018.

Since then, Brittany Hockley has gone on to become an influencer, podcaster, and a radio show host. But now, she’s in South Africa as part of the cast of this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.

After watching the show, fans may be wondering about her personal life away from the jungle.

Brittany, 36, is currently in a relationship with Benjamin Siergrist, 32 – a Swiss professional football player.

Brittany and Ben have been dating since late 2022, and met through the celebrity dating app Raya.

At the time, Benjamin’s team was in Australia playing against Sydney Football Club.

The couple have a long-distance relationship as Ben is based in Scotland for work, where he is a goalkeeper and plays for The Celtic Football Club in the Scottish Premier League.

Brittany has frequently shared details about the hardships that come with doing long distance, but has always said it’s worth it.

When they are together, Brittany and Benjamin make the most of their valuable time and are always travelling to luxurious destinations and going on exciting adventures.

The radio host constantly posts about their trips on social media, sharing loved-up photos and captions with her followers.

The pair have been together for over a year. (Image: Instagram)

The couple have also spoken about their plans for the future, with Benjamin saying he’d like to one day move to Australia. Benjamin told Stellar magazine in July 2023 that they “will work out everything from now until the day I’ll probably move to Australia”.

Brittany has also been extremely open about the heartbreaking struggles she has experienced with infertility.

Brittany has always been honest about wanting children, and has devastatingly found it difficult to fall pregnant. She spoke on her podcast, Life Uncut, about the decision to freeze her embryos last year, but unfortunately doctors found a rare abnormality which meant the embryo would not be compatible with life.

“I wasn’t expecting the feelings that I had when I was told my round was unsuccessful and I would be going home with no embryos.

“[Fertility] takes up so much space in your head and your day. I just wanted to say to all the women on their journey, whatever part of that journey you are at, you’re not alone and I am sending you lots of love.”

Apart from the Honey Badger, Brittany has had some other high-profile relationships.

Most notably, the 36-year-old previously dated Australian tennis player Jordan Thompson for almost two years before they broke up in February 2022.

The pair called it quits due to their work commitments, with Jordan only home a few weeks of the year while on tour.

“We fell madly in love and, you know, talked about the future and getting married. And we were just obsessed,” Brittany told Mamamia in November 2022.

“Then we just realised that it couldn’t work. I am too driven and too embedded in a career here. I spent five months on tour with him; we did Wimbledon and the US Open, and it was amazing. I loved seeing all the families and wives travelling with their partners and I also enjoyed it. But I would be at his matches on my laptop, because I still had to work.”

EXCLUSIVE: Candice Warner reveals it’s been a long time coming to get into the South African jungle https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/candice-warner-im-a-celebrity-get-me-out-of-here-australia-2024/ Sun, 24 Mar 2024 19:30:00 +0000 https://www.nowtolove.com.au/?p=508250 'I'm doing this for myself'.

The post EXCLUSIVE: Candice Warner reveals it’s been a long time coming to get into the South African jungle appeared first on Now To Love.

]]>
Just hours before being quite literally dropped into the South African jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Candice Warner is lapping up her last moments of luxury.

“I’m pretty scared,” she tells Woman’s Day. “I mean, I’m petrified of everything. Even when we go to the school fete and there might be a little petting zoo, I don’t go anywhere near the animals. I’m not one for trying new food. I’m terrible with heights. I’ve never been camping!”

OUT OF THE COMFORT ZONE

Sitting inside her $4 million mansion that she shares with her husband, cricket legend David, with its elevator, infinity pool, underground bar and minigolf course, it’s easy to understand why Candice, 39, might be concerned about losing her creature comforts to canvas beds, rice and beans, and lots and lots of bugs.

But it’s a sacrifice that, she says, will pay off when her three girls, Ivy Mae, nine, Indi Rae, eight, and Isla Rose, four, tune in to see their mum battle it out in the jungle.

“It’s about me stepping out of my comfort zone, but also showing my daughters that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve anything and you can overcome anything,” she says.

“Knowing that my kids are going to be back home watching me every night… I’m essentially doing it for my family.”

“I’ll miss David and my girls the most. It’ll be hard,” she tells. (Image: Phillip Castleton)

SUPPORTIVE HUSBAND

“David was like, ‘You’re kidding me,’” Candice says of the moment she told her husband that she was heading into the jungle.

“Only because he knows what I’m like. There have been times where we were in line for a rollercoaster or something, and I’ve basically left him at the altar – I ran off and left him to ride alone,” she laughs.

“So he definitely had a giggle. But when he knew how serious I was about it and the alignment with my charity, he was all for it. David never stops me from doing anything. He’s always very supportive
and encouraging.”

‘I’m doing this for myself’. (Image: Phillip Castleton)

BARING YOUR SOUL

On top of all the snakes and spiders and being dropped into a vat of scorpions, one of the more challenging aspects of the show, one would assume, would be baring your soul to the entire country during some downtime in the camp.

However, for Candice, this won’t be so much of a concern. “I’m an open book, and I’ve always been very open and honest and upfront about challenges in my life. And I feel through my story and with how open I am, I hope that people feel like they can open up to me without judgement,” she says. “I’m actually really looking forward to those conversations with everyone else in the camp.”

And for a woman who has had a series of highly publicised feuds in the past – she most recently was embroiled in a war of words with former cricketer Mitchell Johnson after he slammed her husband, and she fell out with Roxy Jacenko on set of SAS Australia – she’s ready for any mystery celebs who are dropped into the jungle to “settle the score”.

“There are probably a lot of people I wouldn’t want to run into,” she chuckles. “But I’m also the type of person who confronts things head-on. So people who I may have had disagreements with in the past, I would probably be the first one to reach out and say, “Listen, why did you do this?” and just get to the bottom of why there was a bit of bad blood.”

Candice says she’s doing I’m A Celeb for her family. (Image: Instagram)

MOTHERLY ROLE

And just as easy as it will be for her to make up, Candice acknowledges there are a few habits in the camp that will just as easily break her. “People who are rude and untidy, I’m just going to be like, ‘Come on, mate!’” she says.

“I am a little bit on the OCD side, so I think if someone is just so untidy that it’s affecting the people around them, that’ll irk me. But I found on SAS that I played that motherly role. I think having three kids, it’s hard not to play that role. So I’m always going to be around to help.

Just don’t ask her to cook.

“Oh, I’m not great at cooking. My last meal is probably going to be toast!”

It has become increasingly common over the years for Home and Away cast mates to forge off-screen romances that keep die-hard fans on the edge of our seats.

And while some don’t go the distance and result in nothing more than a behind-the-scenes fling, Home and Away fan-favourites from seasons past, Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds, have become one of the show’s biggest success stories.

Roughly 15 years after falling in love on set, and eventually going on to tie the knot and move to the US, Luke and Bec’s love story is one of the sweetest we’ve seen come out of the Bay.

Take a look at the couple’s biggest relationship milestones.

The couple fell in love on the set of Summer Bay in 2009. Luke, 36, played resident charmer Romeo Smith from 2009 to 2013, and Rebecca, 34, played passionate free spirit Ruby Buckton from 2008 to 2012.

(Image: Instagram)

The Summer Bay golden couple are now based in the US, along with their adorable dog Alfie.

(Image: Instagram)

Luke previously said that falling in love with Bec on Home and Away made his experience on the soap “so spcial”.

“We certainly spent most of our relationship on the show. And when I finally finished, we were engaged, and then we got married, and then we moved overseas,” he said.

(Image: Getty)

Luke credited Bec her for helping bring him international success after moving to the US.

“I don’t think I could have done what I’ve done overseas if it weren’t for Bec. I’m a very lucky guy,” he told TV WEEK in 2019.

(Image: Getty)

Bec and Luke met in 2009 at a mutual friend’s housewarming. At the time, Luke had just moved to Sydney for his Home And Away gig, while Rebecca was already filming the show in the idyllic Palm beach.

“I felt like I already knew him. It was absolutely a feeling that we had lived another life together,” she previously said of their first meeting.

(Image: Instagram)

“I knew immediately after the party that what I had with Luke was that soulmate thing,” Bec said of Luke after they first met at a mutual friend’s house before falling in love on the set of Home and Away.

(Inatsgaram)

In 2013, the couple tied the knot in a picturesque wedding in NSW’s Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat.

They exchanged emotional vows they’d written themselves in front of 70 of their closest friends and family.

(Instagram)

“I will be guided by love, not fear. I will take care of you, support you, honour you, listen to you, inspire you… and love you completely forever,” Luke’s wedding vows to Bec read.

(Image: Instagram)

“I will be your greatest fan and encouragement, holding your hand and cheering you on through everything,” Bec’s wedding vows to Luke read.

“I will look on the bright side of life. I will trust and honour you as the head of our family and our household. All else will be secondary to our relationship. I will venture into the wilds of this world with you and I will be your safe place of love, into the next world and beyond.”

The couple eventually confirmed they were dating in 2010 following months of speculation about their relationship.

(Image: Seven)

Luke and Bec have been one of the biggest success stories to come out of Home and Away, in terms of both their relationship and lucrative acting gigs they’ve picked up since their time on the show.

Rebecca took the opportunity to heap praise on Luke for his 37th birthday in April.

“Happy Birthday to my favourite! A better human does not exist. I love you. 🥳🤩💙” she captioned this loved-up post.

They’re co-stars again! In April 2022, Luke landed a recurring role on The Originals spinoff Legacies – the same series Rebecca Breeds is currently starring in.

And it seems the husband and wife will cross paths while shooting the hit series. When Luke spoke with TVLine, he said it was “super fun” to be working with Rebecca again.

“We may have a couple of scenes together, maybe I’ve said too much, but there are a few interactions between our characters,” he teased.

“She’s playing a 1,000-year-old vampire and I’m playing an all-powerful god — just slightly different from our real-life relationship. Just a touch.”

Here’s to many more blissful years together!

The pair almost look unrecognisable as they go in incognito mode in Portugal.

“Just a couple of Portuguese Tarts,” Luke captioned the image.

Too busy looking at their cuteness to notice the water is green! The Home And Away lovebirds snapped the picture on Saint Patrick’s Day 2024.
